Chapter 134: Chapter 134 He Looks Exactly Like Himself

Night had fallen.

Lijing Garden.

After her bath, Lin Qian lay down on her bed.

She glanced at the time, thinking that her son should have already arrived at the competition venue by now.

Lying on her side, she stared at the quiet room and thought about her recent conversation with Old Madam Yin, zoning out.

Her thoughts were plentiful, making it hard to make sense of them.

At that moment, her phone rang, indicating a video call.

It must be her son, who had settled down and was now calling her.

Lin Qian quickly sat up, grabbed her phone, and sure enough, it was a call from her son.

Her lips curved into a smile as she answered the video call.

"Baby, have you safely arrived?"

The camera shook a bit, and then the screen showed a tiger mask.

"Your baby isn’t here, I’m the baby’s steed."

The voice tried to sound fierce but couldn’t hide its youthfulness. Lin Qian’s smile widened as she watched her son play around.

"Mummy, did I scare you?"

Zirui removed the mask from his face, his cheeks flushed with visible excitement.

"Yeah, I almost screamed!" Lin Qian played along and nodded.

"Ugh, not fun!"

Zirui shrugged his shoulders, his black gem-like eyes gazing at Lin Qian. "Mummy, Candy messaged me, saying you’ve moved back home. She also said Mr. Su came to see you. Mummy, did you have a falling out with Mr. Yin?"

Hearing this, Lin Qian couldn’t help but feel amused.

"Not at all! I just felt it wasn’t appropriate to stay at the Yin family villa anymore, so I moved back home."

Initially, they had moved into the Yin family villa because of the news. Now that the news had passed, she certainly couldn’t continue living there for no reason.

She wasn’t anyone special to Yin Moran!

Were the kids overthinking things, really believing she had married Yin Moran?

"Mummy, are you sure you didn’t have a falling out with Mr. Yin? When Mr. Su came to see you, you’re not considering dating him again, are you?"

Zirui looked inquisitively at Lin Qian, relaying Little Candy’s concern.

Lin Qian smiled gently, "Baby, Mummy isn’t thinking about dating anyone. I’ve always said I just want to be with you as you grow up, and to find your brother and sister."

That statement again!

His intuition told him that Mummy must have had a disagreement with Mr. Yin.

Zirui blinked thoughtfully at Lin Qian.

Unable to stand her son’s penetrating black eyes, which seemed to see everything, Lin Qian quickly changed the subject, "Baby, how’s the competition venue? Have you had dinner? What are your plans for tomorrow?"

Mummy was feeling guilty.

She only became eager to change the subject when she felt guilty.

Zirui’s eyes twinkled but he didn’t dwell on the topic, instead he started talking about some things at the competition venue.

Lin Qian listened quietly, relieved by the sight of her son’s cherubic face on the screen.

Having a too clever son was so challenging.

She couldn’t hide even a little secret!

But her heart still felt warm.

Lin Qian smiled as she watched the screen, and out of the corner of her eye, she noticed another mask flicker past.

The exposed pair of shining black eyes sparkled, looking so similar to her son’s.

Lin Qian’s almond eyes sparkled as her gaze mysteriously drifted off.

"Mummy, are you listening to me?"

Zirui noticed Lin Qian’s distraction and waved his little hand discontentedly.

"Uh, yes, I’m listening."

Lin Qian regained her focus, directing her attention back to her son, "Baby, where did you get those masks? I think I just saw some other kids wearing masks walking by."

"The teacher took us out for dinner, and there happened to be a vendor selling masks on the street, so several of us students bought them."

Lin Zirui picked up the tiger mask in his hand and responded in a milky voice.

Lin Qian nodded and did not ask further.

Not far away, a teacher was calling Lin Zirui to regroup, and he replied, "Mommy, it’s getting late, I need to go back to my room. You should rest early, and don’t miss me too much!"

"Alright, and you don’t miss Mommy too much either. Cover up with the blanket at night, be careful not to catch a cold."

"Got it! Mommy, good night!"

Lin Zirui hung up the phone, turned around, and saw a little boy standing not far away.

Wearing a denim jacket and black pants, he had on a leopard mask and his dark eyes shone brightly as he stared intently.

He did not recognize him, but this floor of the hotel was filled with competition participants.

So, this little boy must be a contestant from another country.

He was about as tall as Lin Zirui and seemed to be around the same age.

Lin Zirui felt a sudden surge of excitement.

Being younger, he often felt out of place in his team.

Now, suddenly encountering a contestant of his own age, he was somewhat excited and eager to get to know him.

"Hello, I’m Lin Zirui from Su City. Are you also a contestant?"

The masked child kept staring at Lin Zirui without blinking, his hands unconsciously curling by his sides.

Lin Zirui, seeing that he was being ignored, thought that he might not understand him, so he switched to English, "Did you also buy a mask? Can you take it off?"

The other person remained silent, his dark eyes as if glued to Lin Zirui’s face, quiet and focused.

After asking two questions with no response, Lin Zirui’s brow slightly furrowed.

It seemed that the other boy didn’t share his thoughts.

Perhaps he thought they were competitors, so he wasn’t too keen on making friends.

Lin Zirui decided not to make things awkward for himself, scratched his head, and started to run forward with short strides.

Behind him, the little boy stood there, his gaze following Lin Zirui’s figure until he could no longer be seen.

Slowly, he pulled off his own mask and stretched out his small hand to touch his delicate face.

He looked exactly like himself. Why?

...

The next day, Lin Qian was awoken by her strong internal clock.

She sat up abruptly, ready to get out of bed to make breakfast, only then remembering she was back in her own apartment and the kids were not around.

She exhaled, hugged the blanket, and fell back onto the soft bed, now unable to fall asleep again.

Her mind involuntarily thought, if she were still at the Yin Family mansion, she should be getting up now to make breakfast for one big and two little ones, and then waking up the two little ones.

Hmm!

She must be crazy.

Why would she think about that?

Lin Qian covered her head with the blanket, rolling around in the warm bed.

Moments later, Lin Qian pulled the blanket away and got up anyway.

Today was her day off.

Unable to sleep last night, she messaged Fang Tong.

They arranged to go shopping today.

After getting ready, Lin Qian left her apartment and headed to the arranged spot.

On the bustling streets, the traffic was like a flowing river.

Lin Qian got out of the car and was about to enter the shopping mall when she heard Fang Tong calling her.

"Little Qian!"

Lin Qian turned back and saw Fang Tong who had just parked her car and came down from the driver’s seat.

Her chestnut curly hair traced beautiful arcs in the air, and her delicately featured face was lit up with a bright, charming smile.
