Chapter 1571: Chapter 1571: One Force Breaks All Spells

The power of the Dragon Strike Cannon was already immense, and coupled with Li Yao’s current attributes, it was equivalent to the attack strength of a world-level chief—absolutely devastating.

The Flying Demon transformed into a blood glow, melting like ice and snow. Before it could escape far, it dissipated completely, reverting to its original form. The Flying Demon’s health suddenly dropped to 1 point, then surged to one-fifth, clearly saved by its near-death skill.

"Ah, I refuse to submit!"

The Flying Demon’s wounds sprayed out large amounts of blood once more, its wings flapping quickly, forming a curtain of crimson light that directly enveloped a Paladin who had just recovered and stood back up.

The Paladin swung a Sanction Hammer, the Golden Holy Light Warhammer smashing a hole into the Flying Demon’s body. However, the Paladin’s own form was quickly drenched in the foul liquid that covered him like an adhesive flow.

The Paladin let out a scream—whether from pain or disgust, it was hard to tell. The stench of the rotting blood was nauseating, dizzying, and overpowering.

What made it worse was that his entire body was enveloped in the vile fluid. As he opened his mouth to cry out, the blood invaded his throat.

Earlier, the Paladin had tried to use the Holy Shield technique to deal with Li Yao, only for Li Yao to pierce through it with a single arrow, fracturing the Paladin’s bones. Barely recovering his strength, he had hoped to strike opportunistically from the sidelines.

But instead, he was reduced to nothing more than a blood bank for the Flying Demon.

In its current terrifying state, the Flying Demon was beyond the reach of ordinary means—neither conventional methods of killing nor defense could stop it.

Even though the Paladin invoked Holy Healing, it only served to feed the Flying Demon more blood to absorb.

The Flying Demon’s health skyrocketed, quickly returning to over half. What left the players feeling utterly horrified and nauseated was watching the Paladin’s skin visibly shrivel at an alarming rate—within moments, he resembled a dried, mummified husk.

Meanwhile, Edward was far from idle. As Li Yao unleashed the Dragon Strike Cannon, Edward began praying fervently. A purple column of light engulfed a massive spider, clearly calling for divine power and using spells granted by the gods.

Li Yao, however, conjured several phantoms, launching flaming explosive arrows one after another, drowning the Paladin trapped in the Flying Demon’s blood curtain.

Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom...

The explosions consumed the Paladin entirely, sending showers of foul blood splashing and dissolving into nothingness.

The Paladin’s shriveled body was blasted into pieces, utterly annihilated by Li Yao’s relentless assault, cutting off the Flying Demon’s chance to use any final resurrection technique or divine skill.

"With my soul as the guide, I sacrifice the endless flesh around me to my god. I plead for divine guidance. God Guidance Technique!"

Edward’s prayer reached its climactic moment. The spider form she had taken grew even more formidable as a surge of power flowed from her magic wand, pointing directly at Li Yao.

A spiritual projection descended upon Li Yao, who was laser-focused on finishing off the Flying Demon. At once, he shuddered—the sharp sensitivity of his spiritual power alerted him to Ross Spider Queen’s will surrounding him.

He felt as though the Spider Queen herself was coldly watching his every move from above, and Li Yao knew the truth all too well.

From their last encounter, he had thoroughly enraged two goddesses. If given the opportunity, they would hunt him down without hesitation. Now, Li Yao had risen to the top of the hit lists issued by both the Fallen Elves and the Lion Scorpion Goddess Church, with sky-high bounties placed on his head.

You could bet countless NPC assassins were itching to find a chance to kill him.

This was only a fragment of Ross’s will, yet Li Yao could feel immense hatred and bitter resentment suffused within it.

"Ignite my thoughts, render your power, burn."

Only Li Yao and Edward could perceive Ross’s intent: to burn her own will in order to kill Li Yao.

Edward was visibly shocked. As one who gained divine blessings through ritual sacrifices, she knew the greed of the gods all too well. Most sacrificial offerings were absorbed by the deities to augment their own strength, leaving only a fraction of power granted to the worshiper.

Yet now, Edward witnessed Ross burning her own divine will along with collected sacrifices—an action equivalent to hundreds of sacrificial rituals’ worth of consumption.

The act of a god burning their own will to aid a worshiper was unprecedented, which demonstrated the depth of Ross’s hatred for Li Yao. To be despised so intensely by a main deity was a testament to Li Yao’s extraordinary defiance.

Swoosh...

Li Yao felt his hairs stand on end, his eyes flashing with light as his spiritual power roiled violently within his mind.

Huff, huff, huff...

Suddenly, Li Yao’s phantoms were engulfed in fiery orange flames, collapsing and disintegrating instantly.

Li Yao breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that he hadn’t summoned all his phantoms—leaving three intact proved to be a life-saving move.

Upon being locked down, as his body ignited, Li Yao summoned three illusions in swift succession, rapidly swapping positions back and forth. This continuous phantom substitution allowed him to move beyond the range of the deadly burning intent.

Li Yao stepped through the Void, his movements creating blooming lotuses with every step—phantoms reappearing and vanishing as he advanced.

Roar!

Ross’s will let out an enraged and unwilling howl, dissipating entirely. She hadn’t anticipated Li Yao’s razor-sharp reflexes, finding a way to counter her attack in mere instants. Her attempt to burn a fragment of her divine will failed to kill him, leaving her seething with fury as one of the world’s apex gods.

Small traces of gray ash marked Li Yao’s body, unable to avoid their residue entirely. However, this time, Li Yao did not make the same mistake twice, letting Black Touch absorb the remnants.

"You two can keep playing. I’m out of here."

A few residual pools of rotting blood around the shattered remains of the Paladin re-coalesced in one final act of defiance, forming into a single bat.

Seeing Li Yao turning his gaze toward the vicinity of the Paladin’s corpse, the bat didn’t hesitate—it launched into an attempt at total escape. The Flying Demon understood he had lost all hope of claiming victory or any spoils of battle.

Rustle, rustle...

The bat split into countless smaller bats, scattering in different directions.

"Escape? Let’s see you try."

Without a moment’s hesitation, Li Yao bent his bow, readying a single shot.

Thud...

The arrow shattered one of the bats in mid-flight, and the Flying Demon’s true form emerged, his expression full of unwilling rage. "Impossible! My Thousand Phantom Bats technique mimics my true form perfectly—only my actual body being hit could kill me! How did you..."

Before the Flying Demon could finish his sentence, a burst of Soul White Light ascended.

"Fake is fake—it doesn’t matter how real it looks. If killing the real thing works, the counterfeit will never escape my eyes. There’s no spell that can elude me, except for ones far beyond your level."

Li Yao turned, his gaze falling on Edward, who now showed signs of retreat.

Indeed, Edward had lost all will to fight. By this point, she hadn’t even been able to lay a finger on Li Yao. The only meaningful attack, powered by divine hatred, burned godly will—and yet it had failed to harm Li Yao.

The only reason she was still alive was not due to her skill but rather because Li Yao’s priority target had been the Flying Demon. Now that the Flying Demon was dead, Edward knew she stood no chance against the unrelenting, suffocating onslaught that would follow...
