Chapter 1507: Chapter 1507 Hiring

"Your Highness must not."

The deputy commander behind the Green Dragon Princess changed his expression and hurried to stop her.

The Green Dragon Princess snorted coldly: "Now it is a matter of life or death for those clansmen, and you are still fussing over some face issues. What is more important, the lives of our people or your pride? After suffering such a loss, are you still deluded?"

The stern words of the Green Dragon Princess made the other members of the Dragon Clan lower their heads in shame; they knew all too well that it was their pride and arrogance that had put them in such dire straits, nearly leading to their annihilation.

Li Yao had been hesitating, but hearing the words of the Green Dragon Princess, he respectfully cupped his hands together and directly jumped onto the head of the Green Dragon Princess.

Dudu and the others also chose a Giant Dragon to ride, while the enchantress, tasked with leading the remaining troops, did not join them.

The long-range unit of the Starfire also mounted the backs of the dragons, and tens of thousands of Giant Dragons soared into the sky.

"Up ahead is their retreating army. Let’s gain a bit more altitude and strike them from above; it won’t delay us," Li Yao suggested.

"It’s a good idea, just right for venting our anger." The Green Dragon Princess let out a fierce roar: "Ascend another five hundred yards, everyone unleash the Toxic Bombs."

Li Yao also said, "Everyone pay attention, bombard the area below."

Suddenly, the long-range unit of the Starfire each employed their own techniques, while the Green Dragons kept breathing out their toxic breath.

The attack caused significant damage to the ground forces below, albeit to a lesser degree due to the great height.

Even if the lethality was reduced, the main goal wasn’t killing but further crushing their morale.

In the fortress, they could rely on defensive weapons to contend with the Dragon Clan, but outside, especially flying so high, they were utterly helpless.

The Dragon Legion circled around Uldaman’s army three times and then flew away.

"General, what should we do?" A leader, also injured by the explosions, seemed somewhat panicked at the moment.

One must understand that for this battle, they had brought out most of their elite and many leaders went on the expedition, leaving the fortress vulnerable, and no matter how fast they moved, they couldn’t match the speed of the flying Dragon Clan.

"Since the plan here has failed, let’s abandon the fortress. We’ll head back to headquarters," Alice said flatly.

"What? Head back to headquarters? If we lose the fortress and go back, with the Demon Marshal’s temperament, we will all be executed," a leader quickly objected, shaking his head: "Better to fight back to the death, dying in battle is far better than being executed."

"When I say we go back to headquarters, we go back to headquarters," Alice said, taking out a badge emanating a faint glow.

Everyone’s faces changed dramatically: "What, General, you..."

"What’s the point now," Alice said.

"We shall follow Your will."

The army of Magma Fortress in Uldaman readjusted their direction, not towards the road to the fortress, but deeper inland.

What Li Yao did not expect was that it was precisely because the Dragon Clan attacked the fortress that it caused the elite of the fortress to turn back.

As they journeyed, they encountered two guilds besieging strongholds, and the battles were utterly lacking in suspense; the guilds were simply crushed.

The two guilds were making swift progress, completely unaware of what was happening, when suddenly, an extremely formidable army appeared.

As soon as contact was made, their lines were broken, and since they were also besieging strongholds, the collaboration from inside and outside made escape impossible.

It wasn’t until they were wiped out and teleported away that they realized what had happened, and immediately they felt an intense hatred towards Starfire.

Li Yao and his comrades were of course unaware that two more teams now loathed them, while the folks from Starfire were happily reaping their rewards.

With their elite forces gone, the Dragon Clan, in coordination with Starfire’s distant forces, easily took down the fortress.

Especially becoming Dragon Knights, the members of the Starfire Team attacked relentlessly while happily snapping photos and recording this exhilarating moment.

Naturally, this overwhelming victory also elicited immense envy from countless viewers who wished they could become Dragon Knights.

Especially in The Ancient God World, becoming one was almost too difficult.

Let alone these intelligent and arrogant Giant Dragons, even the various Dragon Beasts of the Neutral Continent, which the Five-colored Dragon Clan disdained, remain untamed.

Li Yao, leading the Green Dragon Princess, started by rescuing their kin in the plaza. Seeing the dire condition of their people, the Giant Dragons nearly went mad with frenzy, slaughtering the remaining Uldaman forces within the fortress.

Li Yao also lifted the curses they were under, thus perfectly completing the mission. Coupled with the occupation of the fortress, the progress had reached a terrifying twelve percent.

There were several guilds initially nearing, or even surpassing, Starfire’s progression.

But in a short time, Starfire had already surpassed the other guilds.

The only regret for Li Yao was that upon returning with the Green Dragon Princess to the original underground Teleportation Array, they found it destroyed, rendered unusable, with its coordinates completely erased.

Li Yao thus had no way of locating the exact place of the original laboratory.

However, they did find quite a few materials useful for healing, which delighted the Green Dragons – their stronghold had been breached, and they were in dire need of such things.

"Many of our people have been severely wounded, so we’ve decided to recuperate in this fortress for the time being. What are your plans, sir?" the Green Dragon Princess asked.

After a moment, Li Yao responded: "We cannot rest. We must regroup and set out soon. You must be aware, Princess, not only is the matter of the violent Dragon Beasts unresolved, but Uldaman has other schemes, so we must act quickly. However, we will need to take some supplies for my Legion’s use."

"That is only right; we captured the fortress together. And since we hold it, you could take all the supplies if you wanted," the Green Dragon Princess said generously.

"Taking too much would be impractical, unnecessary even. The road to the center will inevitably require battling at numerous strongholds, where we can resupply. Just enough for a week’s sustenance will suffice," Li Yao said hastily. He wasn’t really going to take everything, leaving the Dragon Clan with nothing – that would be absurd.

"That is acceptable. You have done our kin a great service, and we should follow you to repay the debt, but with so many of our own in need of care, and my own wounds to tend to, I must apologize," the Green Dragon Princess said with a regretful smile. "However, hearing your intention of attacking Uldaman with several factions united, we will surely reach the center. If you can provide some Corrupted Crystal Stones, we can use them to hire us to fight for you when we reach the center. That way, no one could object."

Li Yao was overjoyed. The might of the Dragon Legion was unquestionably among the elite in this world; though it was simply the new generation of the Green Dragon Legion, he had just witnessed their formidable strength.

If they could hire the Giant Dragons for battle in the final confrontation, the probability of Starfire achieving the first kill would significantly increase...
