Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss' -
Chapter 768 - 377. Iron-hearted Jiaozi Niu
Chapter 768: 377. Iron-hearted Jiaozi Niu
Clap!
Gio Zieou toyed with a silken scarf and said with great interest:
"So that’s how it is..."
"After the fall of the Six Main Gods of the Great Pathways, a Seventh Pathway appeared."
"Void... Narrative."
He lightly kicked the deformed female knight beneath him and said to himself:
"Truly fascinating, truly extraordinary. As a Narrative Civilization, the Void did not rely on old paths but created its unique Pathway."
"It’s not a path to Godhood, but a fate leading beyond the void and the end."
"It’s like zero, both everything and nothing. The closer one gets to the void, the greater the power they gain. When they fully embrace the void, what they lose is themselves, yet they become everything."
It was different from Starry Abyss’ Path of Ascension and distinct from Society’s collective will.
This was a unique new philosophy.
"Void is everything, and everything is void. What a powerful philosophical concept."
Gio Zieou mused:
"I can somewhat understand why Starry Abyss insists on having Descenders enter the Abyss."
For the Void as the sixth narrative, wars and massacres were commonplace, just internal conflicts within one big family. After all, what family hasn’t fought over inheritance?
However, developing the Void Pathway was something entirely different.
It was like introducing an assault rifle into a knife fight; everyone would be dumbfounded, and the top guy would already be wielding it.
"Why... are you so powerful...?"
Gio Zieou tilted his head, looking at the knight he was using as a cushion:
"You’re that... High Table knight from the kingdom council, right?"
The convulsing female knight spoke in terror:
"High Table eighth rank, ’Dancing Maiden’ Kristin Valda..."
"Alright, alright, I know, no need for your name, I’m not interested."
Gio Zieou stood up and stretched lazily:
"This body may not reach Kappa (10), but within Iota (9), with my skills, no one can rival me - not even Leoz."
"Who... exactly are you?"
Kristin slowly got up and glanced back at the mountain behind her.
Smooth, intact, and lush.
As if nothing had happened.
However, just half a minute ago, it was a vast wasteland, mountains crumbled and rivers broke, magma spewed from the Earth’s core, countless fragments became meteorites, showering down from the sky.
Millions of square kilometers of the continent were lifted and torn apart, secondary earthquakes and tsunamis alone were enough to destroy and submerge all islands and cities below 100 meters in altitude.
However, this peculiar being with porcelain-like skin and armor merely waved a hand and whispered "shatter illusion," making everything vanish instantly.
Birds sang melodiously, green hills surrounded the mountains, mist rose amongst them.
Connected to a clear sky, unbroken by clouds, reaching down to a cold pond, where fish leaped beneath the water lily pads.
It was a natural paradise, birds chirping and flowers blooming.
"Me? I’m not some ’divine being.’"
Gio Zieou said indifferently:
"I am divine."
"You beings have been trapped on this earth for too long, you’ve forgotten that this starry sky rightfully belongs to us."
"When the thunder of the gods faded, fire-stealers became self-styled deities."
Gio Zieou’s words did not shock Kristin; instead, she sneered:
"You say you’re a deity? Don’t be ridiculous!"
"It’s a fact."
Gio Zieou was too lazy to explain.
"Hahaha... deity, god..."
Kristin lowered her head, her light blue hair, stained with blood and brain matter, obscured her eyes. She murmured:
"Mourners’ Mountain, Joyous Plains, Valga Steppe, Helan Highlands, Olibeira, Posweier..."
"What nonsense? Are you calling out dish names?" Gio Zieou shook his tentacle-like braids.
"Those are our fallen homelands!"
Kristin glared furiously:
"Before the kingdom council was established, human territories were continuously invaded by the Void. They worshiped deities, offered sacrifices to the gods, even hid underground in desperation."
She raised her normal hand, pressing it to her heart, and said solemnly:
"For years, we strived to drive the Void out of our homeland. We were weak and vulnerable, but to become strong, we used the enemy’s weapons, transforming ourselves into part of the Void."
"Beings like you, high above, can never understand the pain of watching our homeland swallowed up!"
"The wise Monarch, he knelt countless times before the shrine, but when he lifted his head, all he saw was himself in the bronze mirror."
"Tell me, if deities were of any use, where were you when the nation was invaded, youths perished, and the land was filled with corpses?!"
"Playing around."
Gio Zieou shrugged:
"Don’t overestimate yourselves, mortals."
"Why would you think that sacrificing the lives of those mortals, who could be killed by mere humans, to the deities would get you a response?"
"It’s like an ant offering aphids and fungi to summon a human, trying to get him to crush the opposing ant nest."
Gio Zieou tapped his head:
"Do you think that’s possible?"
"How could it be..."
"Think back on how you treated ants when you were young—watching them fight over a piece of bread, moving en masse for your dropped ice cream. When you got bored, you poured hot water, flooding them."
Gio Zieou spread his hands:
"That’s how we see you."
"Giving or taking, it all depends on our mood."
"What kind of deity are you..."
"I said, don’t overestimate yourselves, mortals."
Gio Zieou stomped his foot and said calmly:
"We have lived here since the beginning of the universe, fighting the cruelest enemies to protect the peace here, even being resurrected to fight again after dying."
"What about you?"
"You are just maggots parasitizing the universe, wobbling in the crevices, barely surviving to this day, and yet you dare to try to play host?"
Though Gio Zieou said those words, he was not angry.
He was actually quite amused.
Performing this task for Lai Anding was truly worthwhile; it allowed him to see just how naive and arrogant these mortals were.
The mere loss of a planet had already driven them to such despair.
If they were to see:
Leviathandal’s Dragon Race invading dimensions from all timelines, causing chaos everywhere from past to future.
The Discerning Eye forcibly guiding civilizations down the path of science and rationality, creating a current dependency on technology that could not be undone.
And the Dark Titan, Gelbroth, not disgusting, just overwhelmingly strong and despair-inducing.
Having experienced all these, Gio Zieou found it hard not to laugh when he heard the other’s speech.
It was like a woman mourning the loss of her cat, crying to soldiers who had lost a war, saying, "You are all heartless monsters, completely devoid of sympathy."
He had to struggle not to laugh.
"Forget it, go play by yourself."
He waved his hand and turned to walk down the mountain. As he flipped his palm, a large cluster of knowledge and information formed into a light orb, ready for use:
"I never expected the Void to have turned this place into an Inherent Time Domain... It seems there’s no way out."
"However, there’s one thing that intrigues me."
Gio Zieou rotated the light orb and said in confusion:
"This ’King’s’ appearance, the skin is too pale, as if never exposed to the sun."
"And looking at the features, why do they resemble..."
"Azure Star People—especially, Frost Plated People."
