Chapter 588: 207. Goodbye Yawen (Part 2)_2
"You are not living for anyone, you are living for yourself."
"Indeed, the only person I owe an apology to is myself."
Yawen bit her lip, smiling as tears streamed down her face.
"Thank you, Mr. Leoz," she wiped her tears, revealing a bright, liberated smile, "I used to think that being ’Li Aozi’s woman’ would give my existence meaning and value, and I strived for that."
"But now, I understand. I am not your possession, nor do I need to strive for that goal."
"If I truly want to be your lover, then I should truly understand you, and let you understand me too, instead of blindly throwing myself at you—it’s quite bothersome, isn’t it?"
Li Aozi shrugged, his silence speaking volumes.
"I hope that one day, standing before me, will not be a Tailor who is insecure and cowardly, trying to prove their worth through love," he said.
"But rather, one who is confident and graceful, truly portraying a fascinating life, genuinely enchanting and compelling, with her own unique beauty—Yawen Heskixin, full of charm."
Having heard him, Yawen suddenly stood up.
She raised her hand to release her hair bun, grabbing her dry, grayish long hair, and gently slid her fingers along it.
Snip—
With a swift motion, she cut off her long hair, shaking her head sharply, allowing her neat, shoulder-length hair to naturally fall.
Strangely enough... when her hair was long, it was like dead straw, giving off a dull, unappealing chalky light.
But with her short hair cleanly resting on her shoulders, even without any adornment, the gray no longer seemed unsettling—instead, it resembled clear fluff.
"It seems, short hair suits me better."
Yawen grabbed the cut-off hair and took it to a nearby blue flame, burning it completely.
"Li Aozi, you were right," she said.
Yawen turned her head to look towards Li Aozi, her tone full of vitality and confidence, her cobweb eyes suddenly brightening:
"I am not unwanted, I still have—Yawen Heskixin—myself, who has always needed me!"
"Short hair does look good," Li Aozi said. "But to cut your hair when making a big decision, then drastically change your personality, is that some kind of magic?"
"Who knows?"
Yawen laughed and said:
"Speaking of which, since we won’t meet again for four hundred years—Yawen Heskixin is such a long name, you’ll forget it."
"So?" Li Aozi asked.
"So, let’s change the name," she said.
Yawen gave her short hair a few casual trims, looking even more spirited and dashing, and reached out her hand to Li Aozi:
"Let me reintroduce myself—I’m Dai Yawen. Not anyone else, just representing myself."
"Li Aozi."
Li Aozi shook her hand and said:
"You’re lucky, I am the reincarnation of the God of Reality, Leoz. Now transfer fifty bucks, and listen to my grand revenge plan..."
"Hahaha..." Dai Yawen laughed unabashedly: "Then, I’ll see you in four hundred years, Your Excellency Leoz."
Vellia’s figure appeared in their field of view, she opened the teleportation array and waited quietly.
Dai Yawen turned her head, said goodbye to Li Aozi, and walked forward formally.
"Changed your hairstyle?" Vellia asked.
"Yes."
"Speaking of its design alone, it actually isn’t very good-looking, but it suits you well when you wear it."
Vellia activated the formation:
"It’s time to go."
Dai Yawen nodded and calmly walked toward the formation.
"Actually, you are not alone."
Li Aozi suddenly said:
"Sijia just said, ’I’ll always be protecting you, silly sister.’"
Dai Yawen’s shoulders shook, she paused for a moment, then with a resolute and determined gaze, she stepped into the formation and teleported away.
"She changed quite a bit all of a sudden—did you use magic on her?" Vellia curiously asked.
"Friendship is magic," Li Aozi said, "Battling against the Society isn’t easy, be very careful."
"Thanks—but you should be even more careful."
Vellia nodded solemnly, reminding him:
"Baizhu Star is in imminent danger; Mashigang of the Mechanical World Society is about to arrive, leave as soon as possible."
"I understand," Li Aozi said calmly, "Speaking of which, Miss Vellia, Dai Yawen mentioned that a hundred years ago, you also participated in the battle against the Tailor, defending Baizhu Star. Why now, when facing the Mechanical World, which is far inferior to the Secret Society, are you advocating we run?"
"Firstly, a hundred years ago, my strength hadn’t completely fallen to mortal level. Even though the Tailor was powerful, it didn’t have the enhancement from the Secret Society. Even among the ranks of Kappa back then, no one could match me, but I also had the standing of an Omega Tier, able to fight it. But now, I am no longer that."
Vellia said faintly:
"You are not; this time, the Mechanical World Society itself is nearby, even if only the Zeta Rank Speaker and Senators from the Mechanical World Society come, their power is continuous, their energy boundless. Your Kappa Rank is also engaged off-planet—you are no match for them."
"But," Li Aozi said, "on this planet, I have friends, accumulated wealth, my village, and local citizens, along with many people relying on me for their livelihood."
"That’s not going to help. I understand how you feel, but that is the reality."
Vellia looked indifferent to these matters, her tone even somewhat numb and apathetic:
"Save the people, abandon the land; preserving both is impossible. Let go of these, leave as soon as possible; life is what’s important."
"I don’t want to lose either the land or the people."
Li Aozi said calmly:
"With the Boundaryless being so proficient in intelligence, you must know the Mechanical World Society’s ritual site for their arrival."
"You might deceive a young girl, but don’t delude yourself... Li Aozi, you are not truly Leoz. I am certain that you have no relation to Leoz, because Leoz was personally killed by Gaia of the Secret Society, dead beyond the Abyss."
Vellia perceived his implication:
"Do you think you are so unique? There are so many unique individuals in this universe; you are nothing special. It is out of respect for Yawen that I kindly remind you. You can’t beat those Senators, even if they are only Zeta Rank—you are no match. This is not your fight; leave."
"It’s not about whether I should," Li Aozi said, "but rather that I can do this, and I plan to take it on."
"You really are a strange person." Vellia shook her head and handed over a slip of paper, "When the time comes, I will tell Yawen you are dead, so she doesn’t grieve for 400 years."
Li Aozi took the slip of paper, glanced at the address which was not far, with information on various Senators, Jury members, and Citizens listed.
Many foot soldiers, many even below Alpha Stage, worthy cannon fodders.
"Thank you for your kindness."
As Vellia was about to step into the formation, Li Aozi said to her retreating figure:
"Too bad, I am immortal."
As soon as he finished speaking, Li Aozi took off the Implant Gear from his head and opened the system interface:
