Chapter 566: 192. Yawen’s Determination_3

The internal workings of the Secret Society are this complicated?

Yawen furrowed her brows.

As one of the thirteen senators, she was certain that it was the influence of the Sovereign Speaker’s faction that had transformed her into a Tailor.

"Then," Yawen noted these details and continued to ask, "this is merely the situation of the Secret Society; what does it have to do with you?"

"It’s not just related; you could even say the factional turmoil within the Secret Society directly gave rise to new opportunities, which led to the formation of our independent faction, the ’Boundaryless.’" Vellia said.

"Boundaryless?" Yawen repeated, "So that’s your organization? But what you say is baseless and still unconvincing."

"Let’s put it another way." Vellia said,

"The Sailor Igor Matthew, who once rescued you on Azure Star, is one of us Boundaryless. We have interstellar communication abilities comparable to a Narrative-level Civilization. The moment you arrived on Baizhu Star, I knew you were here."

Yawen’s pupils contracted.

This secret... even Li Aozi hadn’t been told. While in exile in the Outer World, it was the former Secret Sailor Igor Matthew who saved her.

Vellia, or rather the organization behind her, indeed had a terrifying intelligence network.

"Since you know so much, I have another question." Yawen said, "Regarding Dialan, how much do you know about her? Is her ability reliable?"

"You want to know how to break free from the Secret, don’t you?" Vellia said, smiling. "Don’t worry; I’ve already experienced Dialan’s predecessor."

"You—" Yawen was shocked, "You mean you were once a part of the Secret?"

"Indeed." Vellia said faintly,

"To be frank, my mothers participated in the Leoz crusade. They were Secret Citizens personally revived by Gaia. It was because of that battle that they deeply felt the cruelty and terror of the Society, which swallows civilizations whole, drains them dry, and then turns back to slaughter their kind. This horrific behavior led them to resolutely leave the Secret and oppose all Societies."

"But their situation was not favorable. Gaia disappeared roughly a thousand years ago. Before she left, she released all the citizens, letting them invade planets freely. Baizhu Star was one of the questioned, and my mothers luckily gained freedom as a result."

"To protect me, they also transformed me into a Secret Citizen. For a long time, I stayed on Baizhu Star, engaging in activities and living here, along with a fellow traitor of the Secret, known as the Doctor, to study Secret Citizens. However, an accident happened—a hundred years ago, the senators returned with devastating weapons, wantonly killing and destroying, attempting to use Baizhu Star as fuel to summon the Secret itself."

"I fought alongside the mages of Baizhu Star and successfully repelled the Secret Senators, but I was seriously wounded. It wasn’t until last year that I revived and awakened. Fortunately, the Doctor’s experiments on me were successful; I have returned to being a mortal."

"As for Dialan, it was a project planned long ago by the Doctor. His goal was not just to turn Secret Citizens into mortals but to create a significant weapon."

Yawen, after hearing this, immediately noticed a problem.

"Hold on." She said, "If everything you said is true, you arrived on Baizhu Star over a thousand years ago and slept for a hundred years. Wouldn’t that make you now..."

"Oh, are you concerned about my age?"

Vellia said nonchalantly,

"Including the years of sleep, I am but a three-thousand-year-old girl."

"No, no, no!"

Yawen said incredulously,

"I received knowledge infusion from Gaia, and I also know common sense of magic from the Crystal Tower Civilization. In the Starry Abyss, only special beings like dragons, Void Race, and necromancers can live up to three thousand years, and even Narrative-level Civilizations can’t leave their homeworld."

"Ordinary Society Citizens can’t leave the Society’s mother body; their lifespan wouldn’t reach five hundred years otherwise."

"How did you manage that?"

"It’s simple." Vellia said matter-of-factly,

"Before breaking away from the Secret Society, I was a nine-time reforged powerhouse. Although my strength no longer exists, my status and extraordinary longevity remain."

"Nine times reforged?"

Yawen was startled,

"Isn’t that just below the final reforging rank..."

Vellia thought for a moment and said,

"In terms of the Starry Abyss, it’s the Omega Tier."

Yawen lowered her head and pursed her lips.

"Though I lost my strength, I gained an independent will, and only then was I truly redeemed."

Vellia, with her golden hair, was both beautiful and strong. Standing in front of these people, Yawen felt even more ashamed.

"The Secret took your confidence. We’ll get it back." Vellia seemed to notice Yawen’s low spirits, and after a brief thought, she stepped forward, patting her on the shoulder:

"Join us, Yawen."

Yawen remained unmoved.

"You need strength, companions, redemption. This planet is beyond hope; the Mechanical World Society could descend at any moment. I need to take my comrades and resources and move out." Vellia, hands on her hips, thought deeply:

"Are you still thinking about that Mr. Leoz? He doesn’t love you, has no feelings for you, and doesn’t care about you at all. Why do you care about him? There are many excellent people in this world. Do you have to compete for him, even changing yourself?"

Yawen was unaffected.

"Yawen Heskixin, you should be an independent woman. I saw you planting grapes alone, managing the camp, building houses, doing business. You don’t need a man to take care of you; rather, you take care of others. You shouldn’t live for others."

Yawen’s gaze wandered.

"Put aside unrealistic love and join our cause. You have this ability, and your identity is a threat to others."

A threat.

Yawen lifted her head, her eyes resolute:

"...I’ve been living for others until now."

"Say no more, Ms. Vellia." She said, "I’ll go with you."

"But before that, I must say goodbye first."
