Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss' -

Chapter 543: 177. Slay the Spire (Part 2)
Next, he still needed to drag out that kid who stole his son’s Sequential Arcane Energy.
"Du Zexin... I will never let you go."
Mo Zilan was too naive. Did he think that solving the curse would allow him to stay out of it and live a carefree life?
Given their identities and powers, they were far from achieving that.
Mo Zilan excitedly watched as one target point after another was seized. The efficiency of the Growth-armored Vanguard’s slaughter was impressive, especially their attacks on civilians, which prevented the regional military and police forces from uniting and mobilizing. They were forced to fight independently while diverting their attention, manpower, and resources to rescue survivors.
"Amazing! Kill them all! Kill them all! Hahaha, these ant-like mortals, drown in your own blood!"
A happy and blissful smile appeared on Mo Zilan’s beautiful face.
Sigh...
Canyue shook his head.
He had committed many evils in his life; how did he end up with such an innocent and kind-hearted child? Especially one on the Dominator System’s pathway, his charm was incredibly high, completely a beauty in the making. His looks were exquisite, like a porcelain doll.
But, who made Daddy love you? It’s better for you to shatter this naivety yourself.
Canyue lifted his left hand with a blue ring and affectionately stroked his son’s head. Feeling his father’s care, Mo Zilan turned to glance at him with a satisfied smile.
Canyue calculated in his mind.
"Du Zexin, you’d best not be on this Baizhu Planet now, otherwise..."
Before he could finish his muttered threats, his deputy, Romulus, suddenly spoke up:
"Sir, a communication from Night Butterfly has arrived."
"Play it."
Canyue and Mo Zilan immediately sat up straight, looking at the projection screen in front of them.
Shhhh—
On the pale blue screen, a flurry of static flickered before revealing an officer in a white robe and a black balance-scale-shaped hat.
Seeing Canyue, the officer raised a hand, solemnly making a gesture, and said seriously:
"May the Mother of the Night protect us. The great Heavenly Hunting Butterfly has intertwined our fates—Mr. Canyue, it has been a while. How is your mission progressing?"
Judging from appearances, the Night Butterfly People looked nearly identical to the Tanas People, but one look was all it took to distinguish them with absolute clarity.
The Night Butterfly People were adorned with numerous ornate decorations. They preferred to wear vintage robes, rigid and conservative, with a strong religious vibe.
The people of the Crystal Tower civilization were much more secularized, dressed openly and fashionably, and worshipped mages and materialism.
"Everything is going smoothly, Admiral Bablushka." Canyue rested one hand on the armrest of his chair and propped his chin with the other, chuckling: "The information provided by you guys is incredibly accurate. I’m amazed at how you knew there wasn’t a single Zeta Rank on Baizhu Planet, and it’s only been three years since my last raid. The Crystal Tower civilization hadn’t even considered stationing troops to guard Baizhu Planet."
"They don’t have extra forces." Admiral Bablushka stated indifferently.
"Wow—you’ve got some amazing intelligence agents." Canyue clicked his tongue: "But I’m still curious, something as crucial as troop numbers, how did you investigate that?"
"Simple, because we don’t have any extra either."
Admiral Bablushka said breezily, as if it were an insignificant matter, and continued:
"This operation is of great significance. It might directly turn the tide of our war against those pitiful materialists."
Canyue was curious:
"Do you really believe that the Discerning Eye Fragments can reverse the war?"
"Even if we can’t obtain the fragments—as long as we leak the information that our opponents have them, can you imagine how many people in the Starry Abyss would flock to it?"
Admiral Bablushka said vaguely:
"After it’s done, the rewards won’t be lacking for you, Mr. Canyue. Rest assured, even if the entire population of Baizhu Planet is optimized, it won’t matter."
"Exterminating the lives on a planet is a major interstellar crime, not very humane." Canyue clicked his tongue, about to say ’that’ll cost extra.’
However, Bablushka responded with a deeply appreciative tone:
"Yes, it’s very inhumane, so we usually just blow them up directly."
Canyue was stunned.
Then, Bablushka started counting on his fingers:
"Somme One, Somme Two, all the way to Somme Twelve, and then there’s Golda Star, Solos Settlements, the Kelton Twin Stars, the Zhuoya Star System might have dozens more planets—ah, look at my memory, too many explosions to remember, apologies."
"Those barbarian tribes can’t even reach space, yet they want to communicate with us using their antennas. They’re poor and an eyesore. Their only value is to serve as sacrifices to the deities."
"And those stubborn materialist civilizations. They think that by learning our technology, they can become as powerful as us, not realizing that we are protected by True Gods. But deities are merciful. Instead of letting our Divine Soldiers trample their chests and dirty their pure hands, it’s better to obliterate them in the Void."
Canyue was silent for a moment, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the armrest.
"What’s wrong, Mr. Canyue?" Bablushka inquired considerately.
"Hehehe..."
Canyue chuckled.
"It’s nothing, I just realized why we get along so well—we share very similar views."
"Hahaha, you’re quite the charmer, Mr. Canyue. Indeed, from the first moment I saw you, I felt you were approachable and elegant. Getting to know you better, you truly are an honest, kind, and positive person."
"Oh, you flatter me, you flatter me. What am I compared to you? You are the true saint here."
After a round of pleasantries, Bablushka got to the main point:
"Mr. Canyue, although I have great confidence in your abilities, our High Priest’s Divine Favour indicates that you should transform your spaceship into a large teleportation array fixed on the ground. This will ensure the maximum duration of your Arcane Energy, and also allow our infiltration units to come and support you."
’I knew it, the old fox had ulterior motives when gifting me this spaceship. Ensuring the maximum duration of Arcane Energy—more like making me a sitting duck on the ground.’
However, the situation was currently stable enough to no longer worry about such issues. Trevela had been completely sealed off by him, and the dimensional barriers he set up everywhere turned Trevela into an isolated island in the sea, unreachable to any pursuer.
What Bablushka wanted was for the Night Butterfly combat units to enter, preventing him from monopolizing the Discerning Eye Fragments.
Fortunately, Canyue never intended to monopolize them. With his sharp mind, he had already infiltrated, pillaged, and looted. Utilizing forbidden knowledge a couple of times wouldn’t hurt him.
This was also something Bablushka tacitly agreed with. As an admiral of the Night Butterfly Federation, managing a stellar system with hundreds of billions of people, the benefits he provided to Canyue were already quite generous.
One must know their position, neither too arrogant nor disadvantaged.
Bablushka excelled at maintaining this balance.
After some thought, Canyue accepted the proposal and nodded:
"That’s a good idea."
"Thank you for your understanding."
Bablushka smiled, all his plans coming to fruition.
He would intentionally give Canyue a bit of leeway before deploying the Night Butterfly Troops through the teleportation gate to land on Baizhu Planet.
Regardless of what Crystal Tower would say or find out, the federation could pin everything on Canyue.
Crystal Tower wouldn’t be foolish enough to demand ’return the Discerning Eye Fragments to me’—did they want to attract more hatred?
Bablushka called a low-caste servant and handed him a goblet of fine wine. He lifted the cup and toasted Canyue from a distance:
"To a successful cooperation, Mr. Canyue."
Canyue casually pulled out a card from his pocket, drew a line with his hand, and retrieved a wine glass stored in a two-dimensional plane:
"To a successful cooperation, Admiral."
The two men toasted each other from across the distance.
