Chapter 51: 040. Being Hunted at High Speed_2
Indeed, as she predicted, her swift running speed soon surpassed the other vehicles, with her bracing against the wind. Movement on her side was convenient, and several female agents with ample Qi Energy had already rushed ahead, but she quickly overtook them.
Here comes the opportunity!
Dima Agent rejoiced internally, with one hand blocking the sandblasted wind and the other raising the submachine gun, she started firing at the dilapidated makeshift vehicle ahead.
Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat!
"Di, Dima, Dima Agent!"
She was shooting joyfully, firing while chasing after Li Aozi’s vehicle. Shooting the tires was not very effective; even if they were deflated, it was hard to topple the vehicle. She targeted the driver’s seat, trying to kill the driver.
"Don’t come, stay away—"
Just then, the tone of several companions ahead of her turned exhausted, almost gasping as they shouted towards her, "Stay away—"
Dima did not react in time and took a step forward.
Thud!
It was as if someone had suddenly slammed into her. Dima’s figure skewed, the sudden heavy blow almost making her kneel to the ground.
Dima’s heart sank; she suddenly understood why the other agents around her looked so breathless.
"Gravity arcane energy—this guy’s arcane energy can change gravity!"
She finally realized it, now deeply regretting her decision to get out of the car.
Cars are made of steel body, relying on the horsepower of the internal combustion engine to push through, but human flesh and blood have no resistance to changes in gravity.
But now, with the target vehicle right before her eyes and gun in hand, having undergone professional training, how hard could it be to capture an unarmed arcane user?
What mattered was the generous reward behind.
With that thought, Dima gritted her teeth and desperately climbed upward.
The closer she got to the vehicle ahead, the more bent her spine became. Dima was gasping violently; being under a high gravity environment for an extended time was extremely painful for non-Transcendents. Additionally, the chilly wind of the Outer World kept draining her physical energy. Before long, she felt her limbs weakening.
The shouts of her colleagues in the distance became indistinct, drowned out by the wind. Dima raised her hand and pressed it on the rear compartment of the target vehicle, her lower half completely crushed by gravity. She slumped to the ground alongside the incline, continually being dragged by the vehicle.
"Stop the car!"
She struggled to lift the submachine gun forward and yelled with all her might:
"Stop the vehicle and surrender immediately, or I’ll shoot."
The moment the words left her mouth, she saw two palms slowly lift up from the driver’s seat. Suffering from the gravity pressure, she instinctively relaxed a little, but then Dima immediately realized that both the arcane energy and the vehicle’s motion were still ongoing!
They were still escaping!
Bang-thud!
Dima shot at the dashboard, and in the next moment, her heart clenched tight.
Click, click—
The gun malfunctioned.
The harsh conditions of the Outer World were unfriendly to precision guns, and malfunctions were common, but she never imagined one would happen at a time like this.
"Damn it!"
Dima cursed, and in the next moment, she saw a head slowly emerging from the driver’s seat—a young girl with her face covered in bandages, who let out a sneering laugh. Her light purple solitary eye seemed to say something like ’you got what you deserved’.
"Agents of Fourth Rule, welcome to—Outer World."
Nomi laughed mischievously as Li Aozi silently activated his arcane energy in her arms.
Gravity inversion.
The next moment, Dima felt the vehicle suddenly become light. Her feet were abruptly suspended in the air, and the unexpected twist made Dima scream out loud.
The makeshift vehicle flipped over the sand dune and flew into the sky under the abruptly inverted gravity, and Dima howled in misery. The sudden reversal of gravity subjected her to over 12Gs of load—in both positive and negative directions!
Even wearing an anti-load suit, and being a professionally trained pilot with excellent physical condition, it was impossible to withstand such a level of overload.
Dima’s body was flung up into the air, her vision turned pitch black, and her spine contorted full circle. Once out of Li Aozi’s gravity range, Earth’s core gravity captured her, and she plummeted straight down.
In one respect, she was lucky because at least her head crashed into the soft sand dune and snow.
On the other hand, falling headfirst from over 40 meters high onto a snowy sand dune was pretty much the same as hitting a steel plate.
Dima’s head was completely smashed into her chest cavity, and then her spine, under impact, bent and broke, rupturing flesh and popping out, as one eyeball squeezed out of its socket due to the change in blood pressure, rolling around on the ground.
Whoosh... thump!
Then, crushed by the wheels falling from the sky, Li Aozi smoothly adjusted gravity for a stable landing. Nomi shifted into neutral, and with the engine out of fuel and completely shut down, the vehicle solely glided on Li Aozi’s adjusted gravity.
"Yeah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha—did you see her face just now? It was just like (Civilization Frost Plating)! Oh, she’s probably not (Civilization Frost Plating), but then again, those who work for Fourth Rule essentially sacrificed a page of their family tree."
"I saw it, it did look like an expression of despair."
Li Aozi waited for a while until the Experience message popped up.
