Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss'
Chapter 493 - 130. ’Born in Chaos

Chapter 493: 130. ’Born in Chaos

Two hours later, Li Aozi left Wendy’s dorm with a bottle of magic potion.

"Today’s harvest was quite fruitful. Not only did I get the memory potion, but I also learned about the events on Azure Star."

Although he had long known that Narrative-Level Civilizations were not paragons of virtue, it still made him feel uneasy to truly realize that their hegemonic privileges were above him.

In a previous life, he had been part of the "Empire of Heralds" for so long. If he hadn’t spent most of the later days in the Starry Abyss, rarely surfacing, Li Aozi would have almost considered the Empire his home.

And even though he had been there for so long, he hadn’t known the details of Azure Star’s destruction... It was evident how highly classified this matter was.

However, despising and loathing hegemony was meaningless; those in power didn’t care about your personal likes and dislikes.

The only way to defeat a hegemony was to become one yourself.

Joining if you can’t beat them has never been a shameful act.

"In other words, this is actually a good thing. At least, it proves that the Narrative-Level Civilizations are contemplating rescuing Azure Star."

Although the "Empire of Heralds" had long had designs on Azure Star, at least it was considering it from a developmental perspective. Compared to the Maxwell Consortium, which directly disseminated advanced knowledge and angered Lord Entropy, leading to the blockade of Azure Star, the Empire didn’t even look like it was expanding. Instead, it had a vibe of poverty alleviation.

"The ’Obliteration Sanctum’ is too extreme in temperament and somewhat old-fashioned in execution. It’s best not to get too involved with them. The ’Union Group’ is currently not on good terms with me due to the Valenkov incident, so it seems I’ll have to visit the Empire to solve the problem."

Li Aozi was very familiar with the Empire. Returning to this familiar circle would relatively be better.

Prepare a backup plan.

With the magic potion in hand, Li Aozi was in a great mood and diverted his path to the cafeteria for a meal.

It was only when Li Aozi sat in his usual spot that he noticed there seemed to be quite a number of people at the adjacent table.

He turned his head and happened to lock eyes with a cold-faced beauty with golden hair and golden eyes at the next table.

"Oh, good afternoon, Dialan," he greeted.

"Good afternoon."

Dialan nodded slightly, pretending the people monitoring her didn’t exist.

"You’re the new student, Li Aozi, right?"

The people from the Inspectorate recognized Li Aozi. Many had met him on the day of the Elemental Riot and had spoken on his behalf. They began chatting with him.

After exchanging a few pleasantries to warm up, Li Aozi continued to eat quietly.

He scooped a few spoonfuls of rice, chopped the meat into fine pieces with the spoon, mixed it with the rice, and then shoveled it into his mouth.

The rice grown on Baizhu Star was a different variety from that on Azure Star. It had a texture similar to millet but with a more pronounced fragrance, slightly sticky. Paired with pork fat gravy, chicken steak, and beans, the aroma was overwhelming. Li Aozi ate five large bowls, accompanied by a chilled mango-flavored soda. After such a meal, he felt completely relaxed.

At the next table, Dialan’s eating manners were no more refined than Li Aozi’s. She had a table full of food for just herself, seemingly due to her species, she didn’t have a habit of eating staple foods, mainly consuming a purely ketogenic diet of meats and fish: roast suckling pig, fresh ham, roasted venison tail, stewed beef, half-cooked ribs, fresh cod fillets, and blood ice cream, an eye-catching spread.

She also couldn’t be bothered with utensils. She opened her mouth, revealing sharp fangs, and casually sucked down a large pot of stewed soup like it was milk tea. Seeing her in that state, it was hard to imagine her as the "Golden Princess;" instead, she looked more like a starving grizzly bear.

Li Aozi was already full after having a few bowls of rice, but watching Dialan’s light-hearted combat eating made him feel hungry again, so he ended up eating two more large bowls.

Say what you like, Dialan was pretty and ate a lot. Her brutal and cold eating manner, combined with her aloof demeanor, made this live eating show quite entertaining. Li Aozi couldn’t help but laugh when he saw her grab a lobster and swallow it whole.

"Pfft!"

At this laugh, Dialan’s gaze immediately fixed on Li Aozi. She popped the remaining half of a lobster, the length of a small forearm, into her mouth, and while tilting her head back, swallowed it whole. Her golden eyes looked at Li Aozi curiously:

"What’s so strange?"

"Not much." Li Aozi noticed her gaze on him and shrugged.

"Then why laugh?"

"I just find it kind of cute." Li Aozi stacked his dishes to make it easier for the cleanup staff: "Usually, you have an air of ’stay away from strangers,’ but when you eat, you’re like a little bear. It’s a bit of a contrast charm."

Finishing his words, Li Aozi turned and left:

"I’ve had enough. You enjoy your battle."

Dialan’s gaze grew deeper; her hands rested on the table as her golden eyes scanned continuously, seemingly deep in thought. This made the nearby Inspectorate members quite uneasy.

"Don’t act rashly," one of the Inspectorate members quickly said, "You’re still under surveillance. It’s best for everyone if you cooperate and clear your name as soon as possible."

Dialan raised her hand and pointed at Li Aozi’s stack of bowls:

"Do all you Tower People eat as much as us Dragonborn?"

The others looked at the nearby table, only to see that Li Aozi’s table of bowls had piled into a small mountain.

In terms of quantity... it didn’t seem any less than what was at Dialan’s table.

"Did that guy Leoz only eat rice?"

"He eats way too much. Look at him; he seems perfectly fine."

"Could he also be a dragon? No way, right?"

Dialan lowered her head, eyes flickering, lost in thought.

...............

"Hmm, it seems I’ve eaten a bit too much today. Although this Arcane Energy from the bloodline doesn’t consume mana, it does increase my physical capabilities, making my appetite much larger."

Coupled with the ’Iron Stomach’ mutation project he had acquired during his time as a Mutant, Li Aozi now felt overflowing with mana, as if he could never run out.

Of course, that wasn’t the most critical point.

The critical point was that his brain was an implant gear, completely devoid of brain tissue. Whatever he ate was directly decomposed within his skull to power his implant gear.

Increasing my food intake? So what? It’s not like I’d encounter an enemy and then take a big bite out of them, devouring them alive.

Bloodline, you’re truly the most useless superpower.

Lame, bloodline, lame.

Today was Wednesday, and the afternoon was reserved for club activities. Hobbs had to go home to get some things, and Lucite was busy earning credits at the Alchemy Club.

But seeing the alchemical waste he brought back every day, Li Aozi thought he would sooner or later realize that alchemy had no future.

With his two best friends gone, Li Aozi decided to skip his homework and instead took a walk around the dormitory area. After meandering back to his room, he locked the doors and windows, ensured it was quiet and safe, then sat on his bed and took out the memory magic potion.

"’Total Recall’—what a grand name. I hope it’s truly so."

Feeding the entire bottle of the potion to the true self’s head in the fractured space, Li Aozi soon felt a wave of drowsiness wash over him. He removed his implanted head and sprawled out on the bed, falling into a dream.

............

Deep.

The cosmic primordial of the universe was so deep. When the Starry Abyss hadn’t yet condensed, when all legends began, and even the wheel of ’history’ did not exist, this universe was so deep.

It was first nothingness, not even the Void existed. Then, from nothingness, it gradually settled into a world of void. As the void evolved, its nonexistent mass continued to compress and precipitate, finally encompassing everything to become chaos.

During that time, there was neither light nor darkness.

But in that obscure chaos, a group of ancient beings extracted all from that primal universe amid the harshest conditions, clarified those ambiguous laws, and instantly possessed a certain will, separating from chaos.

Their forms were forged and tempered within the chaos, under immense gravity, pressure, and high temperatures, forming a peculiar appearance—slick, solid, without wrinkles. This would later be known as ’porcelain’ skin, the feature of those primordial beings.

Initially, there were six of them, faceless and voiceless, all summoned by the original universe to descend from chaos, seemingly corresponding to the six gradually separating layers of the Starry Abyss.

That part of history was too ancient, so ancient that the concept of history hadn’t even been born, and the universe had not yet formed its own time and space.

But for those who lived after history, they would bestow the most revered title upon these exalted beings:

Chief God.

The Starry Abyss seemed to sense a potential crisis. It urgently called upon the six Chief Gods, urging them to create another realm beyond the Abyss. Each constructed their own universe. Regardless of the original intention, at least we understood that the principle of defending against the enemy at the border was already evident.

As darkness surged, with a dragon’s roar piercing through, the invading Destroyer also opened its magic eye.

The endless War Beyond the Abyss silently began.

In constructing their own universal battlefronts and defending the Starry Abyss, the Six Great Main Gods seemed to be struggling. They realized that though their divine power was immense, they were far inferior in diversity and creativity compared to the life forms selected by natural competition.

Life was not originally part of the Starry Abyss.

But now, due to the invaders’ arrival, it had become a part of the Starry Abyss. As the war progressed, even deities were classified under ’life.’

In the end, no matter how the deities denied it, life had already become their follower and vanguard. Compared to the Destroyer that brought them into existence, the cosmic beings seemed to have more affection for the Starry Abyss.

Perhaps from then on, the deities had already realized that their war was destined for failure.

To cope with the war and stabilize their universes, the Chief Gods developed their own enormous divine systems. They extracted certain traits from the Starry Abyss, bestowed authority upon those concepts, and awakened their will. Once they fully awoke, they released them into chaos, to be tormented and tempered.

In this manner, a deity was born.

Clang!

A carbon-black body fell into the white sand, struggling and writhing. Bathed in Lai Anding’s healing light, the filthy, corroded form gradually shed its black scars, revealing pale silver porcelain-like skin. Deep blue muscles undulated and squirmed under the gravity compression of the starry sky.

——Dominating Universe, Mother Star Haines, Chaos Incubator——

It slowly raised its head; a red-black sun sprouted millions of branch-like tendrils, lifting this newborn. The divine power resonated, emitting a sound directly into consciousness:

"You have descended from chaos—10752, you are the 10752nd deity born today. Now, pick up your sword and march to your death for Morphederia, Your Excellency."
