Chapter 489: 126. AUV, guess what, this is so authentic!

Li Aozi watched the inventive weapons of some Mechanic players and prepared to plan the next introduction of some basic knowledge of magic industry.

"It’s time to introduce the magic system to the players in the Fiery Summer District."

Li Aozi looked through the forum, where one post mentioned that several players from other servers had infiltrated the Fiery Summer District to gather intelligence, preparing to help the local teams understand their opponents during the first season’s competition.

Actually, letting the players of the Fiery Summer District come into contact with magic too early wasn’t a good thing. For Azure Star, a technology-based civilization was definitely easier to localize. Introducing overly advanced magic could bring about a wave of unemployment to Azure Star.

However, for a few players, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Li Aozi inquired about the frontline situation. Seeing Li Aozi’s return, several logistics players left behind were quite happy and provided a detailed description of the situation.

"Thanks to the tactics you taught us, Li Aozi, we’ve now advanced to the mouth of the cave. Those goblins are too cunning, digging many tunnels—once we go deep, we’ll be worn down by guerilla warfare. Even the ’Eye of Truth’ doesn’t help much."

A Mechanic player complained:

"We’ve tried many attack tactics and weapons. Now it seems bio-weapons are the best, but well... "

Li Aozi nodded.

Bio-weapons from Azure Star were passable against each other, but not quite effective against goblins. On this magic planet, toxicity was at best on the level of a pyrethroid insecticide.

"Don’t rush, take it slow. I’ll bring back some good stuff for you guys later."

"Really? What is it, Brother Li?"

"New toys, more thrilling than bio-weapons. They can make you into Azure Star superhumans."

After painting a grand vision for the players, Li Aozi used Elemental Structure to improve the terrain, filling in some ditches and undulations for the players and creating a small semi-permanent lava pool useful for smithing.

As dusk neared, Li Aozi stood on a hill overlooking the fields below, feeling somewhat sentimental.

[This is truly my place, the people I’ve nurtured, the territory I’ve crafted and planned myself, with roads crisscrossing, bustling activity, diligent farming, and smoke curling up from chimneys.]

It was only now that he truly felt the sense of setting down roots and establishing a home.

"Good, good. The Goblin Cave will take just two months to take down. By that time, the players’ levels will have risen, and they can go to my instance to grind for experience and hone skills."

Once their skills are up to snuff, they’ll naturally think of trying their luck in ’Valenkov’s Winter,’ and if they can freeload some interstellar civilization’s technological gear, that would be a windfall.

Games need to provide players with enough positive feedback without making them feel bored.

The positive feedback Li Aozi offers is simple and straightforward: The enemies are tough, but if you can’t beat them, you can grind levels or hone skills, work together with others for a group beatdown. After defeating a group of enemies and your level is just about there, now you can tackle the instances given by Li Aozi.

The instances are graded at different levels. The higher the difficulty, the more realistic and the more they hone skills. For professional players, when there are no matches, the best way to make a name is to clear high-difficulty instances, preferably with added restrictions—such as ’Eyes Closed,’ ’Prohibit Skill,’ ’Pure Flat A,’ ’Speedrun,’ and so on.

Once their levels rise, they’ll need strong and impressive gear—this is when Valenkov’s Winter can greatly meet their needs.

Li Aozi will act as a Merchant who appears periodically, offering skills, Arcane Energy, and knowledge of suitable intensity, while also subtly hinting at some of the story.

Additionally, with Yawen around on regular days, this side can also offer ’Fashion’ to players.

In the entire game, this is the only NPC and territory that can offer "Fashion."

Even if you’re tired of running instances—there’s still the vast expanse of Baizhu Star to explore!

If this continues, Li Aozi was sure that his customer retention would become stronger and stronger, with no off-peak season at his place.

"It’s just that... even I, a college student, am better at game planning than the Qiqiao Network planners. I suggest Qiqiao Network should promptly optimize their planners."

Watching his homeland improve bit by bit, Li Aozi stroked his non-existent chin.

It seems... With just 25 players, the manpower is still not enough.

Even when Nikita and the others complete their procedures and come over, it will take at least a year.

Should I... perhaps entice more players to come?

Li Aozi opened the official website and checked. Near Baizhu Star, there are two Newbie Planets provided for players from different servers to use.

These two planets are:

Hastings Colonial District server—Aerli Wasteland

From a straight-line distance, Aerli Wasteland is the closest, but there is no Star Gate directly connecting it, so it’s actually more troublesome to get there.

Ajincour District server—Valkyrie Fortress - Frontier Satellite

The Frontier Satellite of Valkyrie is among the worst, as it is at the intersection of interstellar civilization, but basically lacks resources. Players here have farmed for two versions of the game.

While players from other planets are being cyberpunk superhumans, interstellar mercenaries, and fighting to the death against Void demons—Ajincour’s players are farming.

While players from other planets are caught in star-extinction crises, dynastic changes, and embroiled in the wars of the stars, fighting for the fate of their homelands—Ajincour’s players have dug their own canals.

While players from other planets are charging into battlefields, shuttling between galaxies, and navigating through the plots and schemes of interstellar civilizations and corporations—Ajincour’s players have built their own food processing plants.

There is no such thing as peaceful times; it’s just that the players from Ajincour have their own unique understanding of farming and cultivating land.

"Hastings Colonial District, huh? That’s where all the Celestial Dragon People are, the lords of the colony, all descendants of nobles and high officials, the elite of the elite, quite arrogant. I don’t want to go there."

Li Aozi had a dislike for players from the Hastings District in his previous life, this region’s players were infamously undisciplined, lacked quality, and devoid of sportsmanship.

The most crucial point is, the 7.0 version of the virtual war was triggered by the conflict between the Fiery Summer District and the Hastings Colony; Li Aozi certainly didn’t want to nurture talent for the opposition.

Compared to that, the players from Ajincour District are mostly from Agricultural Planet origins, and have much purer characters.

There’s also something good about this place... it’s only 2.4 light-years away from Valkyrie Fortress. Li Aozi could simply let the players start flexing as Merchants here with a whole fleet of small ships.

As the saying goes: It’s better to work for a capitalist than to be a worker for the capitalist.

"Since that’s the case, the next goal needs one more addition: head to the Ajincour District to poach players."
