Chapter 486: 123. Windbreaker, work pants, I am called Aozi remember that

Yawen’s gift of a coat to herself was a bit too fancy, anyone who saw that coat knew it was Li Aozi coming.

To avoid attracting attention, Li Aozi changed into a new outfit in the restroom of Trevela Station, physically realizing a complete transformation.

Three and a half hours later, the K-180 Magic Guide Train stopped at Water Moon Fortress, dropping off a batch of visitors and travelers returning home before departing again. Among the hundreds of passengers with varying expressions exiting the station, a tall man in a shiny silver trench coat and wearing a hood stood out conspicuously. His clothes looked like they were patched together from tinfoil and newspapers, exuding a skyscraper-like punk effect.

He flipped a coin, twirling it back and forth between his knuckles as if a butterfly were dancing around his fingertips. As sunlight spilled over his shoulders, the obscure space beneath the hood swirled like raging fire.

"From now on, the true Li Aozi has returned!"

Ever since he started school, Li Aozi had been using an ’Leo’ appearance with an Implant Gear head, only slightly enhanced by cosmetic optimization. Now, this ’Headless Knight’ persona was his true form.

Water Moon Fortress was a tourist city where the Ministry of Education had weak influence, making it a perfect place for him to operate.

Without the weight of the Implant Gear head, life was much easier. This 200 Point Tickets ’Future Primitive’ Fashion came with a special hood that, when pulled down, could hide his face, preventing outsiders from seeing the wearer’s true face.

The principle was unclear, but it was very practical.

With the constraints of the Higgs Field lifted, Li Aozi’s full strength was on display. As soon as he disembarked from the train, he entered stealth mode, flying low through the streets and alleys as he started searching for his target.

’Canyue’ was a Special Ability with a very clever method of acquisition; if he followed normal procedures, he would need to confront a Zeta Rank ’Psychic’.

Although it was not that he couldn’t fight... but if he could steal directly, why bother engaging?

Li Aozi had always been a pragmatic person.

Soon, he had locked onto his target: a gaunt middle-aged man with a head wrapped in bandages, sitting in meditation on the street corner. As he entered a deep trance, his body began to levitate unsteadily.

To the amazement of many passersby, performing such an operation entirely with spiritual power without the intervention of magic was quite rare and valuable. It demonstrated his incredibly firm Will, his spirit pure and clear, further solidifying his ascetic monk image.

Many passersby respectfully offered some money and food as they passed, but the master remained unaffected, focusing intently on his meditation.

After a while, the original group of onlookers grew bored and moved on, making room for new tourists to take their place. The ascetic monk soon received a fair amount of donations as people came and went.

Li Aozi watched as the ascetic monk maintained his mental strength until past two in the afternoon before slowly descending to the ground. As the monk landed and opened his eyes, he immediately bowed in gratitude to the watching visitors, thanking them. He used a very strange etiquette: fists clenched with little fingers hooked together, and the tips of the forefingers and thumbs of both hands touching, seemingly the ritual of some religion.

Seeing the ascetic monk pack up and leave, the tourists also dispersed, and Li Aozi, moving through the air, followed the monk closely from high above.

Apparently sensing that he was being followed, the monk took various small alleys and detours along the way, displaying a strong anti-surveillance awareness, much like that of a professional.

But this was ineffective against Li Aozi, who could simply ask the wind to reveal the traces of the other party with his strong elemental affinity, even if he lost track of them.

There was nothing else, for the world’s favor often manifested in such a simple and crude manner.

After a while, seemingly assured that no one was following, the Ascetic Monk finally relaxed and walked onto the main road, unaware that Li Aozi had been standing three hundred meters above the ground the whole time, drawing information back through elemental affinity. As soon as the Ascetic Monk let down his guard, Li Aozi followed directly.

The Ascetic Monk first purchased food such as bread and pastries, then went to a certain district where he distributed them to the children of poor families. From high above, Li Aozi could clearly see that each time the Ascetic Monk handed out food, he would require the recipient to make that gesture in return.

However, this demand was somewhat harsh for the citizens of the Crystal Tower. The Tanas Race was a typically materialistic tribe; the common people worshiped heroes such as the Father of Crystal, magic workers, workshop masters, and scholars, and were completely disinterested in—and even disdainful of—religion, even though their lives might be hard; their beliefs were simple.

In the end, the only one who performed the gesture was an orphan with no parents. The little boy, seven or eight years old with a dirty face and clothes that would be considered shabby even on Azure Star, hesitated when asked to perform the hand sign. He glanced at the clay house beside him.

Following his gaze, Li Aozi saw another equally skinny little girl, whose eyes filled with longing when they fell upon the cake and pastries.

Without hesitation, the boy extended his hands, balled them into fists, and hooked his little fingers together while his index and thumb tips touched each other.

"Very good, Avado, you’re a child with a heart of gratitude. Come on, this is what a good child deserves."

The Ascetic Monk patted the little boy on the head, praising him.

After performing the gesture, the boy eagerly reached out for his reward. The Ascetic Monk then produced a piece of cake and some pastries, and the little boy immediately took them back excitedly, soon joyous cheers of children echoed from inside the house.

The Ascetic Monk nodded in satisfaction and sauntered away at a leisurely pace.

If one only viewed up to this point, they would likely think the Ascetic Monk was a poor, kind gentleman who performed charities with the money he earned through his ascetic practices, but kept not a penny for himself, embodying the spirit of a modest, elegant sage.

Li Aozi shook his head and then, with a tap of his toe, landed softly on the ground like a feather, blending into invisibility and following the Ascetic Monk with such delicacy in his control of strength that he caused no disturbance whatsoever.

The Ascetic Monk did not go far but arrived at an abandoned factory in the suburbs that no one cared for. Upon reaching the gate, he looked around to ensure he wasn’t followed, then shook his body. His originally frail form immediately swelled, muscles bulged, and flesh filled out, as the unique aura of arcane energy surrounded him.

From his red and black eyes, he was clearly a Mutant of the Sovereign series, his biological band peak at the Gamma Rank, a top-ranked existence among mortals.

Li Aozi followed quietly behind, watching intently.

The burly man took a few steps forward, entered the factory, and performed the hand sign, then began reporting in the language of aliens:

"Your Excellency Mo Zilan, Romulus is honored to report, seven Vanguard Seeds have been selected."

Ripples slowly emerged in the void, and time and space seemed momentarily misaligned, just like when watching a video during network fluctuations and experiencing the ’audio-visual desynchronization’ phenomenon.
