Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss'
Chapter 479: Cut Gold and Sever Steel

Chapter 479: Cut Gold and Sever Steel

The dense metallic blades burst forth fiercely, and Draphys’ mechanical body twisted agilely, defying the rules of human ergonomics. Steam spewed from her elbows and toes as her body darted back and forth, dazzling the onlooker.

Whoosh!

Li Aozi’s heavy sword swept across, and Draphys tread on the blade. The intense heat of the electromagnetic energy made her body tremble, and she was promptly swept away.

"Weak atta—"

[Master of Metal and Gold]

Boom!

A sword unleashed a ferocious crimson electric light, and Draphys was hit straight on. In the next moment, the cabin shattered into pieces amid the thunderous booms of the storm.

Swish, crack!

Draphys’ body crashed into the forest, with parts of her scattered around as red electrical arcs surged through her. She flipped through the air, resembling an elegant ballet dancer. On tiptoes, her upper body held firm, she stood balanced on one leg. Her electronic eyes fixated on Li Aozi, analyzing his identity.

Creak, bang!

Draphys rotated her body, one hand behind her back, her gaze full of provocation:

"You should not have spoken of the [Society], little carbon ghost."

"You should not have disturbed my tranquil life."

Li Aozi leapt down from the cabin, holding the sword in one hand, and with Zaniya’s assistance, retrieved the blade to reassemble the armor.

The energy consumption of the [Armed Empire] was much lower, and the movements much subtler, perfectly suitable for this forest setting.

The two of them fell into silence, standing off against each other, sizing up their opponent.

[Mechanical World Society: Mashigang], a mid-to-small level 300 society, categorized among the Predators.

The defining trait of a Predator [Society] is a very powerful Speaker who’s not quite adept at infiltration and stealth. They typically invade the centers of civilizations through large-scale attacks, causing their downfall, and eventually calling down their [Society]’s entity to consume the entire civilization.

Any [Society] faces a dilemma: when they invade a civilization, the limit of their individual’s abilities is entirely restricted to the upper limit of that civilization.

In other words, if the most advanced rank within a civilization is Gamma, then the invading Society Citizen can only reach the levels of the Gamma Rank. They must start from basic strength for the invasion.

Fortunately, Li Aozi had foreseen the coming of these monsters and had been preparing for it all along.

[Rank Conversion]: Delta Rank (About to break through)

——————————

"Delta Rank, acceptable."

This hierarchy was just right, within his tolerance.

Even without using Arcane Energy, Li Aozi, wielding the Divine Sword, could still sweep through.

[Elemental Structure]

He tapped his toe on the ground, and instantly, slab stones arose, catapulting Li Aozi into the air. Assisted by the fierce wind and protective forces, he left a trail of afterimages while rapidly closing in on Draphys, who abruptly raised her leg and shot out a sharp, elongated blade from her toe, viciously slashing towards Li Aozi.

Clang!

Their blades crossed, and Li Aozi lifted his wrist, the longsword angled behind him to deflect the slashing attack while simultaneously triggering several spots under his feet. His brain operated at high speed, creating a pit beneath Draphys’ other foot, and seizing the moment, he circled to her back and struck hard with his sword!

[Master of Metal and Gold]

Crack!

Draphys raised her hand to block, the residual force distorting her shoulder and neck, the skin on her face eroded and melted by the sparks, revealing half of a mechanical skull.

But in the next moment, Li Aozi felt an immense power emitting from her, as her steam heart instantly pressurized, increasing output, and his blade was knocked away.

"Ha! Weak and powerless!"

Draphys let out a piercing sound of electric current, swung a punch powered by the furious force and steam thrust from her elbow joint, and Li Aozi, almost unable to avoid it, parried the punch with his sword blade.

Boom!

Li Aozi was sent flying back, his palms aching intensely. He quickly turned off the pain sensation of his Implant Gear, spent Gene Points to fortify his palms temporarily, and added some metallic element to his bones.

If he continued to fight head-on like this, even with the passive [Physical Strengthening], he couldn’t withstand it.

Draphys, holding her head high with one hand behind her back, stepped on blade edges, and regardless of her horrific half face, approached like an elegant dancer.

"How many of your Citizen compatriots have arrived?" Li Aozi suddenly asked.

"I’ll tell you when we reach the Nether Abyss."

Without waiting, Draphys immediately launched a flying kick, attacking ferociously!

Li Aozi retreated while calmly wielding his sword, blocking as best he could to deplete her attack frequency, using the blade to sense the enemy’s force and predict her follow-up moves.

Perception fully engaged, his potent [Charm] immediately resonated with the elements of nature, whispers echoed through the forest, and a treehouse next to him rose from the ground, its thick roots sweeping directly towards Draphys.

Boom!

Li Aozi stabbed his sword into the ground with his backhand, and the land immediately felt his determination, shaking violently. Just as Draphys stood up, she was again thrown into tumultuous rocking.

Li Aozi grasped at the void with his bare hand, a whiff of breeze drifted from his palm and then quickly accelerated and compressed into high-pressure slashes that crisscrossed back and forth, tearing through Draphys’ mechanical body.

[Warning: Outer armor damaged]

With a casual tear through space, Li Aozi channeled the accumulated energy from the Element Pool, and with minimal guidance, he conjured elemental giants on the spot.

As if sensing the threat to Society, the local trees also responded to Li Aozi’s call, uprooting themselves and growing rapidly as they quickly moved across the land like octopuses, joining dozens of three-meter-tall giants of earth, fire, liquid, and air to form the Allied Forces bravely advancing.

This was not magic, merely the framework techniques employed through [Charm].

Li Aozi was adept at these skills, the Ace Bro amongst [Meteor Fall Masters], and the naturally suitable [Architect] role within this school was not overlooked. He manipulated information, programmed the world, and created structures to build a powerful battlefield for himself, impacting the ecosystem, all being essential interconnected operations.

Had he already attained the [Meteor Fall Technique] inheritance of [Meteor Fall Masters] at this moment, even if a Zeta arrived, coupled with such advantageous terrain, he might be able to temporarily suppress the opponent.

Although [Architects] are more supportive, even if fighting alone, standing behind a Framework Entity, buffing it—but within that school, there is a set specifically designed to burst Damage, called ’Wrath of Nature’.

Just like now, releasing the Element Pool, editing information with framework technology, causing resonance among elements—whether triggering explosions and impacts or using a massive amount.

Even machines were powerless under the Wrath of Nature because they were also a part of nature.

One by one, the giant spirits took their turns, not hesitating to charge in even in a ’self-destructive’ manner. Draphys, who had been managing effortlessly, was now struggling in the elemental tide unleashed by Li Aozi.

Li Aozi didn’t understand a bit of framework editing, but that was okay.

They adored him and could communicate directly with Li Aozi—the elements themselves lacked the concept of life and death, and if shattered, they could coalesce again in a few thousand years.

But could they encounter someone like Li Aozi, whom the elements adored, in those thousands of years?

Very unlikely.

For the elements, winning Li Aozi’s favor was what mattered most.

"You’re not fighting with me; you’re facing the entire natural world," said Li Aozi calmly, while commanding a new group of elemental giants to charge forward.
