Chapter 478: 115.【Mechanical World Society】Mashigang
"It seems the ’Aura of Goodwill’ really helped me a lot," thought Li Aozi. Despite his perfunctory taunts, they didn’t annoy Dialan at all.
With his mere 100 point ’Constitution,’ a single slap from them might shatter most of his bones.
As for those few clowns harboring ill intentions towards him, Li Aozi had already prepared to fish for a fight, waiting for them to strike first so he could retaliate with a couple of punches—physical combat—to give them a small shock with his Frost Plated Boxing style.
In the end, they were scared off by just a look from Dialan.
It was a pity, really.
But after all, having one less thing to worry about is preferable. Li Aozi went to the cafeteria, resolved his lunch, then left the castle of the Magic Application Academy, boarded a boat, and headed towards the island in the center of the lake.
A few minutes later, as the clouds dispersed, an island thrived with harmony, where Phantom Beasts leaped and Spirit Plants grew, appeared in Li Aozi’s sight.
"Natural Ecology Academy, we’ve arrived."
Li Aozi disembarked and set foot on the island. As soon as his shoes touched the soil, he immediately felt an inviting presence. The earth firmly supported his soles, offering no slipperiness, and the air was refreshingly invigorating. With the sunshine filtering through the trees warming his skin, it felt especially comforting.
"This place is really nice," Li Aozi assessed, "It obviously seems perfect for retirement."
Although the environment was indeed beautiful, Li Aozi had not forgotten the purpose of his trip. Following a small path through the fields across the island, he saw cottages and tree houses sprouting before his eyes. On his way, the number of Elvenkind and Half-elves among the students and staff he encountered clearly increased. These nature-friendly Species obviously loved the environment here very much, with both students and teachers residing in trees, maintaining quite traditional rustic living and working habits.
Elves, too, represent a major typical life form in the cosmos, primarily because of their strong genetics. Regardless of what species Elves mate with, the offspring are always Half-elves. Moreover, Elves often only recognize matrilineal lineages, which makes the actual number of Elves much higher than one might imagine.
Of course, lower-class Half-elves and High Elves could not even begin to compare in terms of lineage, strength, and quality.
An intellectually slow Dark Elf was just an exception and shouldn’t be taken as evidence.
These Elven faculty and students were quite friendly towards Li Aozi, perhaps because his ’Charm’ was high enough. Elves were the ones who initiated conversation with him.
This indeed greatly helped Li Aozi, as the island was rather large, housing its own experimental fields, and it would probably take days to explore fully.
The person Li Aozi was searching for was in one of these tree houses. Guided by the friendly Elves, he followed the numbers and eventually found his destination.
"D-8746, this is it."
The place was truly secluded, deep within the jungle. With this location, even delivery services might find it hard to reach.
Li Aozi put down his Information Rune and knocked on the wooden house’s door.
Knock, knock, knock.
"Hello, Melo, I’m Leoz. We previously contacted each other on the campus wall and discussed the matter of delving into deep memories; do you remember?"
Li Aozi courteously said.
However, there was no reply from inside.
Not awake yet? That makes sense, after all, it’s Saturday, and she’s a third-year student; they tend to be more relaxed.
So, Li Aozi waited a moment, then knocked again.
Knock, knock, knock.
"Hello, Melo, we had an appointment today—"
Perhaps the force of Li Aozi’s last knock was a bit too strong, suddenly, the door swung open.
"Unlocked?"
Li Aozi paused, suddenly feeling an ominous sign. He immediately stepped inside, crossed the threshold, and immediately saw the messy room, with numerous books and potion materials scattered about as if a robbery had occurred.
The room’s phonograph was still spinning, playing loud symphonic music that was enough to mask any noise from outside.
He quickly adjusted his body outfitted with Implant Gear, turning off any fingerprint and scattered biological material detection to prevent tampering with the scene.
Li Aozi quietly closed the door and tiptoed deeper into the room, slowly lowering his body, his gaze sweeping around ceaselessly.
[There are drag marks on the floor that, although deliberately cleaned, show clear signs of water stains that won’t dissipate quickly.]
He looked towards the kitchen.
[There’s a lingering smell of cooking in the pot, seems like fish stew? But there was no sign of the fish itself.]
There were no tables and chairs in the living room, which seemed to suggest that the homeowner didn’t like having guests, and probably moved dining to their own master bedroom.
It also fit the image of a mental worker.
The floor was littered with a few magazines, all related to her profession and the university’s newsletter—nothing unusual.
Li Aozi didn’t see anything odd, but something inside him still felt wrong.
He had no choice but to head towards the master bedroom, gently pushing open a crack in the door, ready to peek inside and discover the truth.
Bang!
The door instantly burst open under some massive force.
[Racial Talent: Hyper Sensory Perception]
A point of focus value was instantly depleted, and Li Aozi’s view of the world seemed to suddenly fill with mercury. Time appeared to slow down as his body swiftly transformed, crouching low, spiraling out of his original spot, and rising to a half-kneel.
Clatter, clatter...
The wooden door fell to the ground, shattered into pieces. Li Aozi lifted his head and looked towards the attacker:
Standing in front of him was a girl with a strange mechanical body. Her lower half looked normal, but her upper body consisted entirely of mechanical skeletons connected by springs, nuts, and rivets. Within her hollowed body, a steam heart, emitting white smoke, was spinning furiously.
The mechanical girl casually lifted a female corpse, her mechanical electronic eye scanned the dead woman’s face, and then immediately replicated it onto her own.
The ’girl’ turned her head, her zirconium eyeballs moving back and forth, flashing with streams of data, as if processing some information.
[Automatic Calibration Completed]
[Restoring connection to social network...]
[Connection successful, access to cluster network granted]
[Jury: Mech-Soul Delaphis]
"I’m sorry, what did you just say? I was cleaning and didn’t hear you," the girl slowly lifted her head, dropping the corpse, her face displaying a gentle yet mechanical smile:
"Could you please repeat that for me?"
"Uh-oh."
Li Aozi narrowed his eyes:
"I was just saying, where did the society’s lapdog who invaded Baizhu Star run off to."
"...You just mentioned ’society,’ right?"
The girl tilted her head.
The next moment, her cheeks split instantaneously, a large amount of mechanical parts combined, instantly forming a cannon aimed at Li Aozi.
Boom!
Li Aozi’s body was instantly engulfed by a rapid white light; the scattered corpses on the ground merely touched by the white light began to rapidly decompose and disintegrate.
"The Mechanical World Society’s Mashigang is about to arrive here!"
As the prolonged exposure ended, the echo of Cold Mechanical Voice from the Jury of the Mechanical World, Delaphis, rang out.
"Your carbon-based filth will eventually rot and disintegrate. All of civilization has already ended."
Clang!
"Is that so! Hahaha!"
A long sword pierced through the fatal white light, Li Aozi held it backhandedly, sweeping away the death light, as Zaniya’s sinister laughter echoed, metallic substances in the house instantly converged like subservient subjects summoned together.
[Armed Empire]
"I somehow feel—it’s just getting started?!"
The metal instantly melted and fell, converging into a basic form of an armor.
"Pierce through the citizen’s soul, drink deep the blood of society!"
Delaphis suddenly jumped high, lifting his foot and brutally kicking on the armor, his shin penetrated into the cluster of metal, then rapidly burst outwards, ejecting scorching steam internally.
"Come on, Leoz! Heat it up!"
Hum—
The high temperature quickly turned the armor red-hot.
Li Aozi raised his hand.
The next moment, thousands of red-hot metal blades burst forth from the armor!
