Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss' -
Chapter 476 - 113. The Mystery of Leoz
Chapter 476: 113. The Mystery of Leoz
Bzzz — Bzzz —
The electronic shackles unlocked, and the Void Energy Bolt Agent ceased injecting.
Cold light fell into the serrated vertical pupils unique to the True Crocodile Species, making even the high-ranking Guardian who faced those peacock-green eyes feel uneasy.
"Number 56: Nephis Cleopatra — your company posted bail for you. Leave now."
The prison guard waved his hand. Nephis stepped barefoot onto the cold floor, her Qi Energy gradually recovering, radiating the powerful aura of a wild beast.
Tap, tap, tap...
The woman’s slender figure gradually receded into the distance, and the prison guard couldn’t help but mutter:
"Showing off. If it weren’t for your Narrative-Level Civilization backing you, being locked up here would make you fair game for me."
"Shh! Are you out of your mind?!"
A colleague quickly reminded:
"Keep your voice down! This woman is a ’Gabros,’ a war weapon of the company. Even with her Qi Energy sealed, she could kill a seasoned Zeta Rank veteran with just her physical strength."
"No way... Without Qi Energy, a Path Climber of the Destroyer series is just a fast-food meal made of carbohydrates and protein. You could burn them clean with a flame."
"She’s different," the colleague seemed to recall some extremely unpleasant memories, "Fifteen years ago, during the Missionary plan of His Excellency Redd Gold to open up the Olph Star Rings market, the plan did not anticipate the powerful and aggressive local indigenous forces. The missionaries were killed, and the Blessed Maidens were sacrificed to their Evil God."
"And then? That’s profaning deities, isn’t it? Wouldn’t the Union Group declare war?"
"No, they didn’t declare war. Instead, ’DeMeer Pharmaceuticals,’ a subsidiary of the Union Group, just took five Gabros back into the Star Rings."
The prison guard paused and said:
"Today, you won’t find the name ’Olph’ anywhere on the Star Map."
The protagonist being discussed, Nephis Cleopatra, clearly heard their conversation.
But from beginning to end, she did not care about it.
She walked into the hangar, lifted her head, and saw Andrew Velazquez, dressed in business attire, along with Velazquez’s fleet, already waiting for a long time.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Nephi." Andrew nodded. Clearly an apologetic tone; it sounded like a matter-of-fact statement. He clasped his hands behind his back, turned off the stock information on his retinas, and boarded the private jet without looking at Nephis once.
Nephis followed closely, her chin tucked down, loyally trailing behind her young master like a fierce and cold hunting dog.
In reality, it wasn’t far off.
"The last time we nearly lost you, it was the Fleet Commander’s fault. Don’t worry about it."
Andrew casually comforted her and then sat down grandly on the luxurious sofa. A maid timely handed him a prepared cocktail, which he sipped lightly before turning his head to formally face Nephis:
"Let’s talk about your opponent."
"Yes."
Nephis spoke in a raspy voice:
"Sharp, beautiful, deadly, vigilant, timid, weak."
"It seems just a few exchanges left quite an impression on you."
Andrew swirled the golden liquid in his glass as if twirling the blood of deities:
"But I am satisfied with what you said. If you meet him again, can you handle it?"
"I will tear open his artery and drain every last drop of his blood."
Nephis said coldly.
"He dared to hurt you; you are Velazquez’s heir. For mortals, you are the Crown Prince; you are the Son of God, the gospel of capitalism. Anyone obstructing the spread of great capitalism in the cosmos must face divine retribution."
"Good momentum, but I want him alive."
Andrew smiled slightly.
"He dared to hurt you—"
"Just this? He broke two fingers. For a Dragonborn, it’s like losing a few hairs after a sleepless night."
Andrew showed surprising generosity:
"The guy’s name is Leoz. According to company intelligence, he’s still a student seeking political asylum in an unacknowledged interstellar civilization."
"Now he’s just over twenty and yet managed to destroy our small fleet, forcing us to officially withdraw from Valenkov."
"You actually want to eliminate him? That doesn’t align with our sacred capitalist faith. Anything of value must be fully utilized. We emphasize equality, fraternity, progress, and privatization! Capitalism isn’t about mindless fighting; living to create value, infinite value, is our pursuit."
Andrew demonstrated a great deal of magnanimity, downplaying personal vendettas:
"I engaged a staff officer team and professional personnel to calculate that the value Leoz could create far exceeds everything he has destroyed, even eclipsing the value created by Velazquez Corporation. So what if he kills me one day?"
"When I was young, my father told me and my siblings: A qualified capitalist should even price their own death."
"What is dignity? It’s something countless people die for when needed, but not worth a piece of bread when not."
Andrew glanced at the Velazquez executives listening on the sidelines and taught them:
"I know some of you have embezzled company funds and misappropriated assets, but I won’t stop you because moderate corruption keeps the company operating."
"But remember, everything you’re taking now is permitted by the company. The bourgeoisie provides these benefits so you can bring more wealth to our civilization!"
The executives nearby broke out in cold sweats, not daring to speak.
Andrew’s insinuation was clear: What the company gives you now, it can take back anytime. Don’t think they aren’t watching.
Andrew turned his attention back to Nephis:
"Leoz can bring great benefits to our company. Our team used significant computing power and financial resources to analyze and concluded that Leoz has the potential to walk one of the Pathways of the Sovereign series."
"If you ask how many people are there in the Layer Abyss, I can only answer as countless as the stars. If you ask how many potential followers on the Pathways of the Sovereign series, I think they account for at least one-fortieth of the stars in the sky."
Even an outsider could see how massive that market is.
"As long as we bring him into the capitalist faction, this immense wealth will make the entire narrative bow to Velazquez. No one in this world can resist the temptation of His Excellency Redd Gold!"
"Understood." Nephis bowed her head: "I will bring him back."
"We are currently backtracking information on Leoz, but someone has shielded him with public opinion. In the past half-month, much information about Leoz has been sent into the Collapse Layer. To find Leoz, we need to create a small black hole to retrieve and replay the suppressed data."
Andrew took a sip of his drink and sent her a length of information:
"This process is expected to last five years. Five years later, you will be responsible for ’retrieving’ Leoz. In the meantime, you must train hard. Our professional team believes that reaching Delta Rank within five years isn’t a problem for Leoz. Nephis, prepare for everything."
"Yes."
Nephis checked the information and bowed her head deeply.
Velazquez was highly concerned about this task. Creating a black hole was beyond their capabilities, so they must have enlisted a big figure from the Union Group to assist.
But fortunately, no one in the company was overly reckless. Even young Master Andrew was so cautious, crafting a rigorous battle and training plan.
Narrative-Level Civilizations were never arrogant, at least not the Union Group.
They moved steadily and cautiously, sparing no effort even when hunting a rabbit. Problems solvable with money were never handled otherwise.
This cautious approach made the Union Group’s core Inherent Time Domain expand slowly, but their public trust rating was undoubtedly higher.
Andrew still had more to say, but a secretary suddenly spoke up:
"Young Master Andrew, Miss Nariya wants to invite you to dinner next month. She said she met an interesting friend and hopes you could see whether they qualify to join the company."
"Nariya, huh? How many sisters do I have?"
"She is your 209th sister, young master."
"That’s a bit distant. Which consortium is her maternal side from?"
"They hold a 3.02% share and are aligned with the conservative faction."
"Hmm, poses a slight threat. The old conservative heads aren’t easy to deal with. She has limited influence but significant holdings, probably looking for a husband to carry on the bloodline. With a man running the household, she can focus on her Pathway - I should find her a moderately inferior match."
"How mean, young master. She trusts you so much. You played together as children."
"Choosing to trust her brother is a price she pays for her sentimentality. What has that to do with me?"
"You’re really bad, young master."
"There’s no good or bad. The world only cares about wealth and assets. Once you understand this, you will have greater faith in His Excellency Redd Gold’s grand vision."
Andrew took a sip of his drink:
"By the way, where is Nariya now?"
"Crystal Tower Civilization," said the secretary, "When do you plan to go?"
"Crystal Tower, huh?" Andrew rubbed his chin, "It seems there’s something good there... I’ve heard from Light Gold Priests that one of the planets in Crystal Tower is rumored to have a piece of the Eye of Discernment’s corpse. Under the influence of the Destroyer Strength, the academic atmosphere there has become incredibly intense, making it very suitable for building an academy."
"Do you want that corpse fragment, young master?"
"Of course I want it! The Eye of Discernment is the master of knowledge. All Extraordinary Knowledge in this Six-Layered Starry Abyss originates from its deconstruction. Anyone who obtains a fragment of its body can immediately become a Sage and a Scholarly Faction leader."
Andrew sighed:
"Unfortunately, the Crystal Tower fragment was buried millions of years ago. It has seen four or five waves of civilizations. After all these years, it has probably been worn down by various civilizations. Even if any remains, they’d be shattered to dust, possibly dispersed into the void."
Everyone wants to enter a blue ocean industry, but if you step in too late, you’ll just become the next crop to be harvested.
Andrew wasn’t foolish; such lucky ventures were entirely different from the characteristics of the Blood of Nakis, for which they had exclusive intelligence. Developing and extracting the Blood of Nakis was just a matter of time.
But how would you find this fragment?
Even tomb raiders know not to dig well-known graves; they’re already emptied.
Andrew shook his head:
"I’ll go in a few months. Having someone 209th in line should wait."
"Understood, young master."
