Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss' -
Chapter 465 - 103. The Majesty of the Dragon
Chapter 465: 103. The Majesty of the Dragon
In his memory, the Xilus species seemed to have produced a very powerful Armored Breed Spellcaster who served the "Crystal Tower" civilization.
The population of the Xilus species was sparse, with few notable Armored Breeds, let alone those versed in magic.
In terms of timing, Lucite also matched quite well.
When the three elements overlapped, the probability was considerable.
Putting aside these factors, Li Aozi was also curious about Lucite’s reaction.
How would he deal with such an apparently unfair duel?
Naturally, Lucite knew that he was definitely no match for his opponent in a magic contest, and in this public opinion arena, even if he won by luck, he would not receive respect and understanding.
If he lost, it would be even worse. He might not be expelled, but he would surely have a hard time lifting his head in school for the next few years.
"Leoz, what do you think?"
Hobbs suddenly asked:
"Do you think which side is telling the truth?"
"True or false has nothing to do with me. As for what I think, I stand and watch."
Li Aozi casually took out a bag of sunflower seeds from his jacket, ready to enjoy the show.
"...Uh, what I meant was, don’t you think one side’s stance is somewhat incorrect? Beizhong Gui Ming may be telling the truth; she really could have been harassed, and Lucite doesn’t look that innocent either. His reaction is too calm."
"Based on my experience, spectators should not easily take sides. When you don’t understand the truth of a case, any small breakthrough could potentially turn things around."
Li Aozi skillfully cracked sunflower seeds; the great thing about magic civilization is that the food is pollution-free, making it much tastier.
"Let’s just watch the drama unfold slowly."
Hobbs shrugged; since his companion didn’t intend to make a stand, he also couldn’t be bothered to seek out the truth.
Everyone looked at Lucite, who had found himself at the very bottom of the moral pit from the start, where anything he said would be met with retorts, yet he remained restrained.
It wasn’t until the woman challenged him to a duel that he found himself without other options.
To refuse the duel was tantamount to admitting his own entanglement, and it would greatly detract from his image.
To accept the duel would not lead to a good outcome either.
In such a situation, it was simply bad luck. Either concede, honestly apologize and humbly accept defeat, or take the challenge head-on.
After a brief hesitation, Lucite opened his mouth:
"I accept your challe—"
Before he could finish, a cold voice suddenly rose from the crowd:
"Move aside."
In that instant, the air seemed to solidify all at once, a deep and ponderous silent roar echoing in everyone’s ears, a heavy pressure enveloping each person almost causing hearts to skip and pupils to constrict.
Truly Dragon oppression!
A group of students almost instantly hunched their shoulders and scurried away, even Hobbs went pale and struggled to breathe, yet he still managed to stand.
There, standing still, only Li Aozi was unaffected, aside from a notification about a passed check popping up on his system, completely unbothered.
He’d already transformed through an initial stage of the Elyei Spirit Race, a Narrative-Level Civilization bloodline, which was at the very least on par with Celestial Dragon level Dragon Kind, not far off from a True Dragon.
With "Unilateral Action" in hand, his two hundred points of "Charm" completely overshadowed everything else.
This level of aura, was nothing to Li Aozi at all.
He turned his head, and the crowd immediately parted to make way for a tall girl with golden hair and eyes who approached like a battleship cutting through the waves. As a woman, her features were as sharp as a sword, her angles distinct, making one wonder if even an iceberg were to collide with her, it would end up shattered to pieces.
The beauty of a girl is often described with positive words like beautiful, confident, generous, elegant, and healthy.
However, the first adjective that came to Li Aozi’s mind when he saw the woman approaching was: aggressive.
Her appearance radiated a unique aggression, her features intensely sharp, her gaze like molten gold: regal, scorching, and intimidating to approach.
"That Dragon Titan, Dialan..." Hobbs murmured, "she’s from our academy."
Tap tap tap!
As Dialan brushed past Li Aozi, their gazes met in the air for a brief moment before Dialan deliberately turned her head away and strode forward, entering the duel as if she were a bayonet, gleaming and exceedingly sharp, drawing everyone’s attention.
Lucite then spoke up, "Classmate, excuse me—"
Bang!
A sound like a cannonball exploding rang out, and Lucite was immediately sent flying, crashing into the nearby rails, breaking through the marble railing. His arms hung limply by his sides, his head nearly falling into the water, with a distinct, deep dent in his chest.
People didn’t even see her move before Dialan had already walked towards Beizhong Gui Ming.
Seeing Lucite disposed of, Beizhong Gui Ming’s previously suppressed mood instantly improved, and he promptly thanked the approaching Dialan, "Thank you for stepping in to help, this man is so detestable, sister—"
Smack.
Beizhong Gui Ming’s face instantly distorted under the slap, turning half a circle in the air before his body was embedded into the floor by the remaining force.
Dialan stepped over his back, like a queen walking over the land she had conquered, her solitary figure exuding the presence of an entire army.
As her figure receded into the distance, people seemed to forget the original quarrel and duel in an instant, each returning to their own business.
The terrifying aura took a full minute to dissipate, and that suffocating sense of oppression would turn into a shadow, looming over the new students’ hearts, unknown how long it would take to lift.
"Damn... is this the oppression of top bloodlines?" Hobbs grabbed Li Aozi’s arm, his calves still trembling, "I felt like a Stellar-level battleship with hundreds of fighters was crashing towards me, so terrifying, and she’s one of the four most spectacular new stars in Trevela Academy this year..."
"Hmm," Li Aozi responded noncommittedly.
"What do you mean, ’hmm’? Aren’t you scared? She’s a mix of dragon and Titan!"
Hobbs couldn’t help but tease:
"Speaking of which, that girl saw you, right? Her gaze met yours—did you feel anything?"
"Oh," Li Aozi said.
"Don’t just brush it off, okay? Or was it that you were actually scared silly?" Hobbs patted Li Aozi on the shoulder, "Hey, it’s okay, everyone was freaked out. There’s nothing we can do about top bloodlines, but in the path of magic, it’s not just talent that determines success. With enough preparation, even a god can be slain by a magician."
"Okay," Li Aozi’s gaze shifted to the side.
"At least have some reaction!"
Hobbs exasperated:
"That was a Dragon Titan, and she looked at you for a good four or five seconds—didn’t that cause any psychological damage? Any mental aftereffects?"
"Ah,"
Li Aozi called out weakly:
"So scary, so terrifying, I’m going to be depressed."
"Please show some respect for the Dragon Titan! At the very least, respect me who’s been explaining all this time!"
