Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss' -
Chapter 395 - 038. Frost Plating Federation
Chapter 395: 038. Frost Plating Federation
They’re all insects.
When the divine weapons descended upon space civilization, it was those who followed Li Aozi who were more likely to be the first to enter space and enjoy the protection brought by Li Aozi, the pioneer.
But the Four Nations... Which one truly had a good relationship with Li Aozi?
The former government of the Frost Plating Federation, relying on the harsh environment, had forced Li Aozi into the Outer World. Furthermore, due to the Mingji Humanity issue, they had issued a global arrest warrant against him. Then, with the Grante incident, they had firmly become sworn enemies with Li Aozi.
The problem with the Sky Ring was also severe: during the festival, they had a falling out with Li Aozi and fought the most brutal battle in nearly ten years. It was said Li Aozi even possibly rescued a core member of the Red Squad—this enmity wouldn’t be easily resolved now.
Although there were rumors of a good relationship between the Red Arrow Empire and Li Aozi, they were just that—rumors. Li Aozi had never set foot on Red Arrow territory.
Moreover, Li Aozi’s actions essentially operated under the guise of Red Arrow. If they were to acknowledge Li Aozi’s nationality... Then they’d become the target of everyone’s arrows.
Zhengxu had commercial dealings with Li Aozi and seemed to have a good relationship, but just thinking about the most obscure of the Four Nations ending up as the final winner was more unbearable than the destruction of the Frost Plating Federation.
After a few reminders from President David Lyn, the bureaucrats of the Frost Plating Federation quickly realized this.
They had only become the masters of the nation and order by relying on the existing structure and political system.
But in the universe, with such a vast world available to citizens, would they still choose to stay within their civilization?
Li Aozi was the best proof: an ordinary person with a technical school diploma who, by emigrating back and forth and manipulating public opinion, had transformed himself from a terrorist into a hero. He could still use that same approach to hoodwink the space civilization.
Why not? Isn’t that advantageous enough?
The hearts of Frost Plating bureaucrats were complex.
It was laughable. In the records of the Third Rule, Li Aozi was described as an Arcane User who could barely defeat a slightly tougher enemy and only achieve a pyrrhic victory, a naive child who could grow only by the sacrifices of his comrades, a wanderer without a fixed base or power—yet with this manipulation, he had reaped all the benefits.
The Frost Plated People felt it was unfair; they couldn’t understand how Li Aozi, a person with paper data inferior to any Gamma Rank, had succeeded.
If it was said that he was lucky, no one had heard about someone being lucky, yet dying a few times, too.
It was as if everyone in the world, upon seeing Li Aozi, would subconsciously be friendly toward him.
President David Lyn didn’t overly assess Li Aozi.
"The data you see may not be complete. If the development of many things were to follow the data, then what’s the point of having free trade? Let robots take care of the market."
President David Lyn said,
"The more you look down on Li Aozi, doesn’t it just mean that the Four Nations, which are being toyed with by Li Aozi, are even less aware of the rules than a technical school graduate? Yet which one of you here didn’t emerge from a sea of people, which one isn’t a scholar from a small town? Which one hasn’t fought and struggled in the officialdom?"
"So Your Excellency means...?"
"I tend to believe that Li Aozi has a unique ability, something only he is capable of doing, possibly because our technology isn’t advanced enough to study and understand it."
President David Lyn paused,
"Actually, when I was in prison, I considered whether or not to contact Li Aozi. In my view, Li Aozi didn’t care about his family or money, and such a person is difficult to deal with. Fortunately, now that he has left, it’s better for all of us."
"The Frost Plating Federation is the same. There are some things that only we Frost Plated People are capable of."
"The future will definitely belong to the era of space. That’s the trend; don’t go against it. Doing so will only lead to your destruction. But on the other hand, if you ride the waves, even a pig can fly."
Hence, on this basis, President David Lyn proposed his plan:
"The goal for the Frost Plated People is to transition towards a stature capable of venturing into space—this is our long-term project."
"We need to think bigger. From now on, the Frost Plating Federation shouldn’t just be a nation; we need to become a civilization."
"After the Fourth Rule Agency is recalled to the country, it should be a supervisory and inspection organization, directly under state control. Moreover, starting now, lift all restrictions on scientific research."
President David Lyn walked to the forefront and, looking at everyone, said,
"Activate artificial wombs, establish societal nurseries; I want to build the largest nurturing center on Azure Star, where the genetic seeds of all people will be stored."
"Within five years, the Frost Plating Federation will eliminate traditional marital and family relationships; everyone must contribute their strength to become part of the civilization."
"Remove all job restrictions, except for children and the elderly; all men and women can engage in any job. Lift the educational restrictions against both genders; university graduates must reach Beta Rank."
"Capitalism doesn’t support idlers—if your body is not good, why not transform it, install prosthetic parts? If your physical strength is not as good as a man’s, then you should become a Martial Artist."
President David Lyn flipped through the code of law, striking out articles with a pen while explaining:
"Legally, we are opening up all cloning, genetic editing, particle collider, and cybernetic enhancement technologies."
"We will allow businesses and units to custom-design newborns according to their own needs."
"Anyway, these technologies will become obsolete in the cosmos, so we might as well lift all restrictions now. We have to race against time; we have to lay the foundations of our civilization in the cosmos."
Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment.
It wasn’t that Frost Plating Federation didn’t possess these technologies; it was that they had never dared to use them before.
But now, the situation was different. President David Lyn had decided to activate all these controversial technologies for the ultimate goal.
The Minister of Finance reminded, "Your Excellency the President, aren’t you thinking too far ahead? Our current problem..."
"Our current problem is tactical, but these deployments are strategic layouts. When you’re driving on the highway, if you miss the exit, you can only keep moving forward. We cannot afford to make directional mistakes."
"I approve of this notion," someone from the Science and Technology Bureau raised his hand: "During the past forty years, the Madeleine era, our technology experienced severe stagnation. If we do not resolve this through legal means, we will never progress."
"The military’s equipment is already outdated!" someone from the military urgently stood up: "We need more powerful weapons. The People of Sky Ring are already stirring, and only then can we defend our country. Hence, the advancement of technology is necessary."
"Where’s the money? Where’s the money coming from? Surely we can’t reform empty-handed, driven solely by enthusiasm?" the Minister of Construction worried: "Just this battle alone cost the capital several billion Derby. I can’t even imagine what it will be like afterward."
"Then who’s going to manage education?!" someone from the Education Department complained discontentedly: "Your Excellency the President, if you eradicate families, how much money will we need to invest in building and training these newborns?"
"No, that’s not the issue. During the Madeleine era, our birth rate was negative. Each year the population decreased by 14 million. The only reason we could maintain such a large base number is due to the amount of Outer World refugees that have surpassed the number of newborns—do you think it’s easier to manage adult refugees or newborns?"
President David Lyn explained:
"Madeleine was more foolish and more stupid than you all could imagine—we nurtured a large number of respectable, intelligent, and independent women, but failed to create matching partners for them. That’s why we had to rely on the ’lower-class women × refugee men’ method to increase population."
"Any woman with higher education is independent and smart; they know that marriage is a form of bondage for them—so, let’s not prepare marital partners for them at all. Start with mechanical education and AI servant nannies."
"But how can we ensure employment rates?"
"The future has plenty of job opportunities."
President David Lyn’s ideas grew even more radical:
"Starting tomorrow, we will build gravity wave antennas and within 7 years, construct 2500 of them. We must ensure that once the link between the cosmos and the surface is established, we can receive signals the fastest!"
"The first person to go into space was one of the Frost Plated People, Li Aozi. We can use this as publicity to accelerate the development of our space industry."
"Technological progress that’s too fast will destroy humanity..." someone immediately objected.
"Even if technology doesn’t destroy humanity, Lord Entropy will," replied President David Lyn sternly.
President David Lyn never spoke empty words and immediately exercised presidential powers to pull up a document:
"According to observers from GTB and the reports from Frost Plated Air Force, the density of Ersha is decreasing. Within the next 20 years, it will drop to a height of less than 10,000 kilometers."
"And once the height of Ersha falls to 8,000 meters, all mountains and permanent snow will be completely disintegrated by the entropy caused by Ersha, and it will block our ability to dissipate heat."
"By that time, we won’t be able to dispose of waste heat energy. Relying solely on the thermal energy of Azure Star will burn us to ashes."
"Why does the Madeleine lineage not care at all about the gender issues of Frost Plating? Why does Sky Ring care nothing about the future, recklessly expanding territory? Why does Red Arrow only think of revenge? Why has Zhengxu abandoned development?"
President David Lyn looked at everyone, providing a calm answer:
"Because in 20 years, all of humanity along with the elites will be finished!"
"They chose to decay, but Frost Plating will not. This young man Li Aozi has already given us the answer."
"Within ten years, Frost Plating will eradicate gender relations, and from then on, we will achieve humanity’s second evolution. Evolve towards a cosmic civilization!"
Even though President David Lyn had prepared everyone in advance, these explosive remarks still made many gasp in shock.
"Of course, I know you will question me, how to come up with such vast funds, and besides, we don’t have that many people and resources to build a civilization."
President David Lyn pointed to the map:
"Our ancestors left us colonies, and they were brutally oppressed and exploited—now, it’s time to compensate them."
