Chapter 394 - 037. David Lyn’s Reforms

Chapter 394: 037. David Lyn’s Reforms

Secretary Prin couldn’t laugh at this joke, and he said worriedly:

"Your Excellency, the president of Alfieira Energy has also been arrested, and now we have no top talent available."

"What do you mean we have no top talent available? It’s Madeleine’s top talent that’s gone."

David Lyn wasn’t surprised by the flight of the elite oligarchs. He casually flipped open a dossier and pointed to the names listed:

"Lin Li, Julie Yomak, Zelim Tangshuya, Cook Dole, Wang Sijia, Qi Hui—these people make money with Madeleine. Even if I don’t act now, they will eventually act against me."

"But how do you know?"

"The reason is simple."

David Lyn spoke calmly:

"Because Frost Plated’s resources were not originally so scarce. It’s them who by inciting Gender antagonism, deliberately lowered the birth rate, only recruited women with higher education, and marginalized men, thus ensuring their control over the upper echelon of resources."

"They have betrayed the spirit of the free market and capitalism, turning instead into a bunch of financial landlords and compradors—I’ve been studying this issue in prison. Madeleine has ruled Frost Plated for too long, making me feel that something was not right. After querying economic criminals in detail, I found out that it was just as I thought."

"But this way, without the oligarch tycoons, the domestic consortiums will collapse."

"I’ve killed the top heads, do you know why?"

David Lyn turned his head and looked at the map on the wall:

"The problem with Frost Plated is deeply entrenched; without eliminating discrimination, it cannot endure. After today’s event, there will definitely be people questioning our methods—but this way, attention is diverted, and no one will care that Madeleine’s death was suspicious."

For Frost Plated now, this is nothing at all.

David Lyn stood up, looking out the window at the unchanging, icy sun, and sighed:

"Philby, you know? Before, Frost Plated was full of oceans. The Twin Palaces we are in now was an island specializing in fishing in the old times."

"But every era passes; the heroes who protect the homeland in one era become villains disrupting unity in the eyes of the next generation."

"But territories don’t lie, populations don’t lie."

David Lyn extended his hand and slowly traced his finger over the boundaries of Frost Plated Country, incorporating colony after colony into the national territory.

"Even if we leave history to future generations, they won’t learn from the lessons. Leave them weapons, and they might discard them. Leave them immense wealth, and they will squander it. But leave them territories and people—"

David Lyn’s finger paused over ’Grante Republic,’ and he spoke calmly:

"—then they will understand war, understand ethnicity, understand civilization. They will keep reproducing and surviving."

"If Li Aozi taught me anything by going to space church—it’s that he opened my eyes to a new understanding, a new structure of the cosmos."

"Just think about it, in the vast cosmos, traveling distances of hundreds of thousands of light-years. What will you rely on to unite people? Is it religion? Is it ethnicity? Or is it culture? Surely, they can’t still cling to capitalism out there in space, can they?"

David Lyn said, and laughed to himself:

"The cosmos is vast, and all we need is survival."

"As long as we survive, with the vastness of the cosmos, we will always have a chance to find a way out and a new homeland."

"As long as we survive, with our massive numbers, we will generate a hundred times, a thousand times, ten thousand times more great scientists, great capitalists, extraordinary warriors, and leaders than today."

"Nothing is more important than survival. Population is the mine, territory is the factory, population plus territory, that is the mine factory. A land without people is commonplace in the universe, people without land are inconsequential in the cosmos."

David Lyn turned to look at Prin and the new bureaucrats of Frost Plated who had been summoned behind him:

"Now, do you understand?"

"To be honest, I still don’t quite get it, yet it feels like I sort of do..."

"Then let me put it more plainly," David Lyn said. "There are three things I plan to do, and the future construction and development of Frost Plated will also lean towards these three aspects."

"Please, tell me!" Prin hurriedly readied his pen to take notes.

"First, we plan to completely eliminate gender discrimination within five years," David Lyn said. "Anyone who dares to incite gender opposition is undermining the unity of our great homeland."

"But surely, we can’t just give privileges to men... "

"Who said that giving people privileges counts as fairness?" David Lyn said indifferently. "Under capitalism, there is no gender; everyone is a citizen of the state, a productivity asset of corporations."

"Secondly, and what I am about to discuss next, eliminate all gender-differentiated privileges, and have the Fourth Rule Agency withdraw from domestic affairs to undergo comprehensive restructuring."

"Uh, but how do you plan to do that?" a bureaucrat couldn’t help but ask, "Your Excellency the President, you are a wise general and marshal, and a master at manipulating wars, but this is politics..."

"Politics? Politics is about doing what’s beneficial for the majority of people."

David Lyn smirked.

"This won’t unite the voters, and neither the corporations nor the middle class will accept it."

"Whether they accept it or not, this is the trend of the times."

David Lyn leaned forward with his hands on the table, sweeping his gaze over everyone:

"History is moving toward the cosmos—we Frost Plated have fallen behind other countries too much. Li Aozi went to space and reminded us: this planet has been in contact with alien civilizations from the start."

"Humans are forgetful. If they don’t see something with their own eyes, they won’t believe it—many people have been locked on the Mother Star by Ersha for too long. They haven’t seen the sun yet dare say the cosmos never existed. But in fact, you are all among the cream of the crop, the elite bureaucrats of society. Don’t you understand yet?"

David Lyn found it somewhat humorous:

"The rhetoric of the Four Nations and GTB is fine for fooling the common people, but if you’ve believed those lies too long—you’ve really convinced yourselves—then that only means you’re brain-dead."

The audience was left speechless.

Indeed, David Lyn’s satire was right on target.

Those who could become decision-makers at the national level of Frost Plated Country were all aware of the current situation of Azure Star.

"The establishment of GTB was a reluctant compromise by the Four Nations—we couldn’t properly manage an Azure Star overrun with uncontrolled use of Extraordinary Knowledge. In fact, the Extraordinary Knowledge secretly excavated by us has already triggered tremendous conflicts and continuous wars. If all global citizens were elevated to the Beta Rank—all existing politics and nations would utterly collapse!"

David Lyn didn’t mince words; every statement was a tough truth everyone knew but didn’t dare acknowledge.

In fact, the Four Nations feared such outcomes.

Even with the various issues in the current Four Nations, at the root, there is order.

The worst order is still better than the best chaos; pure chaos would only lead to the barbarization and destruction of human civilization on Azure Star.

But now, the situation has changed.

After Red Arrow first illegally excavated the Extraordinary Knowledge, they became the sole Empire that could stand proudly during a peaceful period without Gamma Rank. Since then, everyone has started to secretly control parts of the Extraordinary Knowledge.

Li Aozi’s journey to space directly tore apart the previously harmonious political structure.

GTB, Lord Entropy, Fenesis Federation...

Li Aozi is not an isolated case; in this era, even without Li Aozi, there would be Zhang Aozi, Chen Aozi—The Four Nations and GTB can no longer maintain the blockade.

Actually, everyone clearly knows there are more efficient ways than using hydrogen bombs to explode into space in GTB’s hands.

But why not use them?

Once Li Aozi successfully connects with an alien civilization, with their capabilities, eliminating Lord Entropy and Ersha wouldn’t be too difficult a task.

By then, Li Aozi will surely become Azure Star’s great hero, and the civilians of the Four Nations will be immensely grateful to him.

With the good people living in peace and contentment, what about the Four Nations?

The Four Nations or, more specifically, the upper echelon of the Four Nations—could they preserve their status in that environment?

In a cosmos civilization where everyone is of Gamma Rank, can such backward systems of the Four Nations really be preserved? Or must they start reforming from within themselves?

—What a joke! Who would revolutionize themselves for the future of all mankind?

The current status of the Four Nations isn’t it maintained by ’cosmic power’ entities like GTB, like an oligarchy, conspiring together which resulted in closing the gate to the cosmos, exhausting planetary resources, even monopolizing sunlight?

Without these, what difference is there between the Four Nations and the ordinary people of the Outer World?

In the eyes of a cosmic civilization, they are all just insects.

A group of bugs, with Gamma ranks that can be counted on one hand.

A group of rats that can’t even venture out from their Mother Star.

A group of maggots, each governing on their own, unable to achieve unified civilization.
