Chapter 347: 150. Arrival (End of Sky Ring Arc)

Whoosh——————!

The Golden Dragon suddenly spread its majestic sail-like wings, stirring a strangely beautiful gold storm in the cosmos. It proudly raised its head and, in the next moment, images of a burning crow, a ferocious White Wolf, a cold Magic Serpent, and a weighty Mystic Turtle appeared around it. The four proud spirit beasts instantly bowed their heads, guarding the majestic form of the Golden Dragon Monk. In the cold and empty expanse of space, they conjured an elemental tide.

Li Aozi was swept over by the tide, but instead of being negatively affected, he felt lightened. The Arcane Energy within him seemed to become infinite.

[Tip: You are currently within an Elemental Enrichment Domain; Arcane Energy is considered ’unlimited.’]

This Golden Dragon has quite the personality — Li Aozi couldn’t help but sigh. He was already the target of numerous attacks and had stubbornly withstood enemy fire to directly open the domain.

Truly, it’s worthy of being a Golden Dragon. I hope my players can learn this kind of self-sacrificing spirit.

Li Aozi went full throttle, just charging forward. He was still under negative effects, and once all the Arcane Energy was prohibited, [Armor of Leoz] would not hold out much longer. He had to quickly find a teleportation node and leave.

Benefiting from the domain enhancement granted by the Golden Dragon, the Crystal Tower’s ships’ firepower instantly climbed a notch. Various magic torch lights and mysterious crystallizations burst forth rapidly, as Magicians chanted loudly. The magic elements resonated and echoed in the vacuum of space, and various fearsome and noble cosmic beasts made their entrance, tearing open spatial rifts and launching assaults on the Night Butterfly Federation.

Unable to cope for a time, the Night Butterfly Federation had no choice but to fight doggedly. The high-ranking Commanders upon their ships, hovering in the stellar orbits, opened a round array and swiftly drew energy and solar flares from the blazing stars, targeting the main force of the Crystal Tower.

The next moment, the fantastically colored magic warships suddenly ceased firing. Their magnificent hulls seemed to be shrouded in a layer of black veil, gradually dimming and then blending in with the starry sky, disappearing without a trace.

"Hey, hey, hey, that’s a collapse cannon, isn’t it!" Li Aozi’s pupils shrank, and he hurriedly used the forum’s recording feature to capture it.

Although he knew that both civilizations were formidable, he hadn’t expected them to resort to using collapse cannons, a kind of forbidden interstellar weapon.

The collapse cannon had no firing signs or warning alerts; it’s an inducement-type lethal weapon that causes matter swept by its special waves to continuously self-collapse until it is compressed into primal particles.

The main reason why this weapon is banned is that it could draw the attention of Lower Societies. In the perception of those Lower Societies, a large appearance of primal particles is particularly conspicuous, as if a civilization had suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the cosmos.

That would be like throwing a piece of fresh meat into a water pool teeming with piranhas, only inviting the gathering and frenzied tearing of those Societies.

Societies, especially large gatherings of them, are among the top disasters in the cosmos. Thus, the large-scale use of collapse cannons is expressly prohibited by the Cosmic Convention.

After recording the second round of fire, Li Aozi accelerated his flight. If he didn’t run now, having witnessed such behavior, he might be chased down by Night Butterfly Federation ships, and then struck by eight bullets from behind, dying of ’suicide.’

"This is big trouble now. Looks like I can make a pretty penny from this," he thought.

Li Aozi knew all too well how he had made his fortune. This first-hand threatening material could entirely wait until he attained Cosmic Citizen status, then he could sell it to the news media for a tidy sum, or report it to a Narrative-Level Civilization for a reward. [Empire of Heralds], for instance, would be quite happy to intervene in such matters.

Or, there was another option.

Li Aozi navigated through the battlefield, bypassing the combat zone, then plunged headfirst into the rear of the Crystal Tower fleet. [Eye of Truth] constantly scanned, and soon he found his target — nestled amongst an asteroid belt, it looked like a ring from the outside, constructed with a mysterious material reminiscent of bronze, with ancient mystical symbols faintly glowing. In the center of the ring, pale blue mystical energies surged.

"TP-190111, this is it!"

This was a primordial teleportation node left over from the Primordial Era. The Chief Gods of the six systems once used them to come and go between star systems with ease, much faster than any spacecraft, but due to the passage of time, few knew where the nodes led anymore.

Unlike Star Gates and Fold Jumps, each node was bidirectional, but selective. Some Species with weaker Constitutions suffered too great a toll on their bodies after each use, and couldn’t step into the same Star Gate again for some time.

Especially since Li Aozi wasn’t considered a Cosmic Being yet, he expected he would have to stay on the other side of the node for half a year.

That would be convenient for him to get a cosmic registration, and for the other side, he could even try to find a [Architect] Secondary Profession. The players would certainly like it there too.

Li Aozi slowly decelerated, taking several hours to reduce his speed, before carefully navigating through the asteroid fragments, a process that took a very long time. In the pod, [King’s Carriage Displacement], [Eye of Truth], [Mountain Armor], [Spontaneous Combustion], and [Death Link] were all in a prohibited status, but Li Aozi was in no rush; switching Arcane Energy every twenty minutes, [Armor of Leoz] could still last for a good while.

He knew where this node would lead, to a very interesting planet.

However, for safety reasons, he lingered outside the node a bit longer, carefully checking for any leaks of Void Energy to prevent himself from contracting a Void Infection.

Once he was certain everything was correct, Li Aozi stepped directly into the node, his form consumed by a pale blue energy sphere, dissolving into tiny particles.

After a moment, Li Aozi’s vision brightened, and he raised his hand to see the blinding sunlight spilling into his eyes. His lungs trembled slightly and took a while to adapt to the air laden with high-energy particles here.

The last core Arcane Energy, "Gravity," was also forbidden for use, and "Armor of Leoz" crumbled and disintegrated as a result. Li Aozi no longer maintained the "Overseer Form," returning to his original appearance and scrutinizing the surrounding environment.

Broken walls and rampant vines, the ruined sculptures covered in birds with three heads chirping away—Li Aozi gently placed down the "Biological Pool," relying on its heavily worn metal shell. Even with the protection of "Gravity" and "Pegasus Power," the bio-pod was severely damaged and he needed to quickly check on the passenger’s condition.

He opened the hatch, but the player was nowhere to be seen. Li Aozi felt like he had forgotten something. He turned around and hadn’t walked far when a cold little head suddenly rested on his shoulder.

"Where have we arrived?"

The gentle spring breeze lifted her cloak, her pale, withered hair fluttering in the wind. Yawen clung tightly to one of Li Aozi’s arms and whispered in his ear:

"I’ve never seen such a beautiful world, Mr. Leoz."

Li Aozi turned his head to meet her gaze.

Her eyes had changed.

They used to be golden-green, like jewels. Now they were pure white, patterned with threads like spider webs.

"Yawen?" Li Aozi said, "Don’t you plan to explain?"

"My situation is not surprising. Right now, I just want to hear you speak." Yawen draped her cloak around herself again, and for some reason, she seemed more insecure than before.

"You’ve changed too much..."

"It doesn’t matter how I am," Yawen found a rock and sat down slowly, "You tell me about this place, Mr. Leoz."

She obediently crossed her hands on her lap, and her pale withered strands of hair fluttered in the wind, easily reminding one of spider silk.

Spiders... sharks?

Li Aozi didn’t know why, but he suddenly had this association, perhaps because "White Knight" Youhe Lai also bore animal traits.

But that must be a coincidence. If Yawen had become one of the Secret Society, she would probably be more interested in killing him to avenge the Jury.

Not only did she not seek revenge, but she followed him to such a distant place. There were plenty of chances to kill him along the way, and it wouldn’t make sense for her to wait until now to make her move.

Since she didn’t want to talk about her situation, Li Aozi didn’t press.

"This is a planet under the jurisdiction of the Crystal Tower Civilization, called Baizhu Star. It has a developed education sector, an abundance of ancient ruins, and rich in magic resources."

Li Aozi said:

"Simply put, this is a university planet."
