Chapter 345: 148.Starry Sky’s Golden Dragon

Countless explosions of fire erupted within the flagship, and the escort ship, a hundred kilometers long, was unable to come to the rescue in time. The side being ambushed decisively issued the order to dispatch their champions to engage in direct confrontation.

Blazing golden flames blossomed in the universe, the terrifying sound waves reverberating in the vacuum as if the Higgs field felt the oppression from the apex predator of the food chain.

A golden dragon, adorned with splendid sail-like wings and breathing scorching star-burning flames, instantly became the focal point of the battlefield. When it spread its wings, it almost bathed the entire battlefield in dazzling gold.

[Majestic Aura]

The wings, spreading like sails to the very tip of the tail, trembled slightly. The enormous dragon eyes, like molten lava balls, swept across the scene, and its dignified righteousness spread rapidly like ripples in water. Countless ships turned around instantly, as if confronted by an unspeakably terrifying presence.

Unlike the just and spell-casting dragons typically imagined, this extravagantly resplendent interstellar golden dragon had an incredibly robust physique, with muscles seemingly forged from stardust.

Raising its claw, it consecutively formed seals, dragon language runes and sacred scriptures emerging across its body. The entire starfield resonated with resounding, pure hymns.

Then, the golden dragon slowly clenched its fist, the violent strength accumulating endlessly, even causing space itself to fracture and spread cracks.

[Hundred Refinements - Fist of Banishing Evil]

The golden dragon’s punch shot out rapidly. Due to its massive size, the movement appeared slow yet overwhelming to Li Aozi, his heartbeat instinctively racing, urging him to flee.

Whoosh——

How could there be sound in a vacuum?

The golden dragon’s punch carried awe-inspiring qi energy, instantly obliterating the entire assault fleet, even affecting two cruisers using a planet as a shield.

The splendid hymn echoed like a celestial reverberation, praising the warrior’s bravery and the enemy’s dread.

Under the eulogy of the song, the colossal planet shattered under the mighty power.

The surging qi energy was unstoppable, the will of destruction unyielding.

The storm of qi energy scattered countless planetary fragments across the cosmos, with several ships unable to fold jump in time being smashed into scrap metal, their reactors melting down briefly before exploding like fireworks in the dark universe.

Dragons were considered the apex predators of the food chain, found on nearly any planet, ranging from lizards, birds, gnolls, to majestic phoenixes, Star Realm giant dragons, and the Void dragon race.

Golden dragons were the top-tier noble dragons, second only to the legendary Radiant Dragons, the supreme emperors. Lesser dragons were quantified by ’units’ or ’tails,’ wyverns by ’individuals,’ and giant dragons invariably by ’heads.’

A golden dragon.

Whether a pure-blooded giant dragon or dragonborn with dragon’s blood, they all fell under the classification of Dragon Race.

A dragon with golden blood was naturally destined to be an extraordinary legendary being. Yet, their true fame lay in their humility and benevolence.

Compared to other dragons, golden dragons were scholarly, law-abiding, and contractual, endowed with talent and romanticism, esteemed artistic masters, and incredibly wealthy to sustain their interests.

For Li Aozi, grasping the golden dragon and its unique combat methods made its identity apparent:

"[Destroyer] path of the {Martial Monk}, with the golden dragon lineage, only Yachi Dukin Monson in the Entire Abyss fits the bill—this has to be the Eye of the Galaxy battle!"

Li Aozi felt complicated emotions.

The most rule-abiding magic civilization in the Abyss—the Crystal Tower;

The most restless technological civilization in the Abyss—the Night Butterfly Federation;

These two civilizations, incidentally, were outside the non-Narrative level territory.

Throughout the entire Starry Abyss, without any intervention from Narrative-level civilizations, this small-scale civilization conflict erupted into a decisive battle, eschewing any mediation from Narrative-level civilizations, starting without war mobilization, and involving the top-tier Cauchy Level (Ξ, the fourteenth Greek letter, roughly level 280 and above).

Meeting these criteria simultaneously was extraordinarily rare, making this war in the Abyss a once-in-million-years event.

——Thus, Li Aozi encountered it.

If he had arrived twenty years later, even ten, he might not have.

Li Aozi gradually slowed his pace, considering whether to use the effect of the [Aura of Goodwill] to bluff his way through.

There was an issue with the Qiqiao Network system: its skill text descriptions were vague, requiring players to guess the practical effects through experience. Some skills seemed impressive but were useless, while others with plain descriptions could knock out all fanciness with simplicity.

The description for the [Aura of Goodwill] was ambiguous: When making any [Charm] checks, regardless of success or failure, the other party wouldn’t attack you.

The question was, if there were no checks, what then? Would the skill not activate?

Li Aozi felt his [Charm] was already high enough, even among these interstellar civilizations, with few Transcendents reaching his level.

He shook his neck, slowing down in preparation for contact.

What happened next was up to fate.

But the Night Butterfly Federation didn’t seem to regard Li Aozi as a benevolent entity, or rather, they didn’t consider him important.

The golden dragon monk of the Crystal Tower civilization displayed unrivaled power, while Li Aozi suddenly charged silently into the battlefield.

Imagine, in a battle of this scale, the enemy had just thwarted a decapitation strike, only for a sub-light-speed unit to appear. What would the Night Butterfly Federal commander think?

"Sir, the intelligence detected an unknown target at the battlezone’s edge, traveling at sub-light speed, clearly smaller than a personal ship."

"Shoot it down immediately," the Night Butterfly commander ordered without hesitation. "We’ve informed surrounding civilizations of the war. Any individual entering the combat zone without identification can only be a spy or assassin."

"But they might be someone important from a high-level civilization."

"Doesn’t matter. Anyone entering an active combat zone without identification is treated as a spy and eliminated."

"Understood, sir."

The subordinate promptly corrected the command, and the intelligence brain swiftly identified the decelerating Li Aozi as an unknown target, tagging him as a decapitation squad. Two neutron torpedoes fired instantly, trailing blue glows and heading straight for him.

"No check triggered—retreat!"

Li Aozi hesitated not a moment, accelerating and fleeing with all his might.

——Now at least he knew, [Aura of Goodwill] only worked face-to-face, during active skill checks.

Escaping was impossible; without a navigational route, fleeing randomly would only hasten his demise. The sole choice was to charge forward, exiting the battlefield as swiftly as possible.

This meant he had to cut across the entire starry sky, straight through the central battlefield, where the golden dragon monk and the Night Butterfly Federal fleet exchanged fierce blows.
