Chapter 301: 116. Escape from Qiong’anjing_2

There were four similar ’systems’ created by the people of the olden days:

The Legal System—Becaliria

The Energy System—Fermi

The Knowledge System—Pythagoras

The Military System—Bonaparte

By modern Azure Star People standards, these olden day systems could almost be considered deities. They were buried near Earth’s core, adhering to ancient programs. They communicated with humans through electro waves to guide civilization, correct mistakes, allocate resources, avert natural disasters, and fend off external threats.

Alicxia had made a pact with Becaliria to become a Judge, probably the last Judge, and possibly the last system contractor.

Li Aozi knew that the other three systems had long been sacrificed in the fight against Lord Entropy.

He meticulously documented these steles and texts. The Four Nations generally preserved some of this content, but a lot more information was actually controlled by GTB’s predecessor, the Cresta Organization.

GTB inherited most of the alien civilization’s knowledge and technology, gaining the authority to mediate disputes within the Four Nations that had lost their olden day civilization transmissions. Naturally, to maintain its status, GTB wouldn’t disclose olden day secrets, or else small countries worldwide would go crazy looking for Cresta relics. Who would still care about the energy quotas they allocate?

Yes, having understood this much, most people could guess.

"The scavengers were descendants of some branch of the Cresta Organization."

GTB monopolized the knowledge transmitted by cosmic civilizations, while the scavengers wanted to collect and preserve this knowledge and the olden day technologies to eventually restore the glory of civilization’s technology.

The Metro Brotherhood used the advanced metro systems of the olden days for their activities. They came and went without a trace, and they held some knowledge of the old civilization. They aimed to restore the tolerant humanistic environment of the olden days.

The Greening Base was a group of environmentalists formed by olden day biochemists. They only wanted to bring back the green grass and trees of the olden days.

From this perspective, the collapse of Cresta gave birth to a voracious power institution like GTB and spawned crazy humanists like the scavengers, which was rather ironic.

"But, you all seem to be going the wrong way."

Li Aozi’s figure quickly halted as he descended slowly in front of a cold storage. Using gravity, he ripped open the door to reveal a hydrogen bomb, only the size of a small car. Apart from some Sky Ring language markings, it had a slogan painted in Yamiriko:

’Special Engineering Hydrogen Bomb for Reservoir Development’

It was indeed the one, Hirosaki Yousha, a 1.4-ton explosive. If detonated here, within a 700-kilometer radius, it would become almost barren.

But just as the Yamiriko markings implied, this world’s most terrifying killing weapon wasn’t meant to harm people.

"Strength isn’t a fault. Correctly using strength is the only truth."

Li Aozi gently grazed the frozen hydrogen bomb’s surface,

"People of the olden days used you to benefit humanity. Meeting me, you’re in for a treat."

With that, he swiftly grabbed the nuclear bomb and flew from the scene.

Upon reaching the surface, just as Li Aozi stepped onto the tiles, a mortar shell hurtled towards him.

Bang!

A massive Mobile Armor raced forward, covering Li Aozi’s head with its hand to block the shell on its back. The Mobile Armor’s monitors slowly lifted, and sixteen dangerous green eyes lit up with a demonic glow.

"If you’re not afraid of death, then come on."

Du Zexin pushed the control lever, broadcasting his voice across every Sky Ring frequency in the Mobile Armor:

"(He’s got a nuke) Let’s see who dares touch him!"

Li Aozi glanced at Du Zexin, "Be normal. That statement could be easily misunderstood."

However, the people of Sky Ring clearly understood hydrogen bombs better.

"This level of firepower can’t detonate a hydrogen bomb. Keep firing!"

Du Zexin’s face turned dark. As a Frost Plated Person, the madness of the Sky Ring people was beyond comprehension. Facing dozens of incoming missiles, he forcefully pushed the control lever. The Mobile Armor’s monitors quickly locked onto all the incoming warheads, then lifted its hands, and the 80mm ’Hellfire’ machine cannons sprang out from the back of its hands.

Bang bang bang bang bang bang bang!

Each round hit its mark, accurately detonating the missiles. He crossed his arms like a conductor, orchestrating a symphony of fireworks and metallic debris in the sky.

This scene almost made the frontline Sky Ring commander’s face black with rage:

"Machine cannon against missiles—Damn it, that’s no ordinary Mobile Armor. Bring our bombers up!"

"But Commander, that’s the Houjo Group’s building..."

"Uh—Hey, where’s the Mobile Armor unit? Get on those planes now! Protect our corporate assets!"

While ground troops continued to argue, Li Aozi and Du Zexin had slipped out the back door. He jumped onto the Mobile Armor’s hand, held securely in Du Zexin’s palm, speeding down the highway against traffic.

"Meibei, those guys have cranked the shield’s power too high. If we fly out, we’ll be cooked instantly."

"Be confident, Li Aozi, we’d turn to ash."

Taking the ground route was a necessity for Du Zexin. This unit was sent by the Frost Plated military and the Third Rule via the Metro Brotherhood. Getting in was easy; exiting wasn’t.

Li Aozi sat in the palm of the Mecha, the cool breeze revitalizing him.

"Meibei, today you’re quite the man."

"Was I not before?"

"You were a male."

"Such a nonsensical joke."

Li Aozi laughed heartily, even though tanks and Mobile Armors chased after them. For this large machine, it was nothing. Du Zexin released a few drones, effortlessly destroying the pursuers.

"Cool, truly awesome! Piloting this Gundam is exhilarating!" Li Aozi shook off his previous gloom, filled with confidence. With one hand on his hip, he stood amidst the traffic, holding a nuclear bomb, making Sky Ring hesitant to bomb directly.

"This is a Mobile Armor," Du Zexin corrected stiffly, "Do you want to try?"

"No thanks, I never attended university. I can’t pilot it."

"I’m a distance education graduate."

"I didn’t even do that."

Li Aozi stood up, gripping the Mecha’s little finger in the gusty wind, triggering memories about two individuals when universities were mentioned.

"Though I never attended, in the future, everyone will be able to pursue university education."

Li Aozi said, glancing at the cockpit:

"Du Zexin, do you want to go to space?"

"Space," Du Zexin said dazedly, "I don’t know. I’ve never thought about it."

"To me, it’s like a homeland. I have no reason not to go."

Li Aozi ruffled his disheveled hair, the artificial sunlight casting a radiant glow on his face. To Du Zexin, its beauty seemed almost unreal, like a goldfish slipping through his fingers.

"But you should also see it," Li Aozi said, "There’s nothing wrong with going to space."

Du Zexin’s expression turned odd: "... To your home?"

"Well, you can think of it that way." Li Aozi glanced at the cockpit, unable to see Du Zexin’s face but guessing his expression.

"Everyone is meant to go to space," he said, extending his hand skyward, "You all must go there. You must. The Mother Star is wonderful, but the future is even brighter. It belongs to you, to every Cosmic being, to every civilization’s future."

"What is the universe like?" Du Zexin, swayed, recalled words that only appeared in textbooks:

"Blue skies, white clouds, oceans, spring, green trees, autumn leaves, stars, moon, sun..."

"Galaxy, star system, nebula, star cluster, supernova, black hole..."

Li Aozi continued, feeling joyful. Du Zexin’s presence and his sincere emotions brought back the excitement he felt when first stepping into the Starry Abyss, venturing into space.
