Chapter 236: 058. Aggression

"At 3:11 a.m., President Madeleine of the Frost Plated Republic announced from the Twin Palaces: she did not recognize the legitimacy of the Grante Republic’s government and opened a humanitarian corridor, sheltering and guiding former Duchy officials to enter the country."

"At 3:19 a.m., Frost Plated announced implementation of 210 restrictive policies against the Grante Duchy, along with economic sanctions, imposing an additional 25% tariff on 20 agricultural export products from Grante."

"At 3:44 a.m., the Modesha Republic declared the severance of diplomatic relations with the Grante Republic."

"At 3:51 a.m., the White Crystal Republic announced the severance of diplomatic relations with the Grante Republic."

"Up to now, under the persistent diplomatic efforts of Frost Plated, 29 countries around the world do not recognize the legitimacy of the Grante Republic’s regime, with only three countries recognizing it."

"They are the Red Arrow Empire, Zhengxu Democratic Republic, and Sky Ring Country."

"At 4:32 a.m., an order was sent from the Twin Palaces, requesting mobilization of twenty thousand Fourth Rule Agents nationwide, equipping them with military gear, heading south to the Frost Plated-Grante border for military action."

"Operation code name: White Twilight."

"At 5:12 a.m., the capital Sipeya of the Grante Republic was attacked by 422 ’Queen’ missiles, resulting in the death of 122 civilians and 2012 injured."

"At 5:14 a.m., the 22nd Airborne Division and the 24th Mobile Armor Division of Frost Plated reached the Frost-Grante border. The acting Defense Minister of Frost Plated, Yamari, stated: This is to maintain regional peace and prevent criminals from invading Frost Plated across the border, causing unnecessary disruption to civilian life."

"At 5:54 a.m., the power system in the capital city of Sipeya, Grante Republic, was hacked, causing a massive blackout once again."

"At 5:55 a.m., Frost Plated deployed 12 Z-13 ’Seagull’ fighter jets, took the opportunity to enter the capital’s airspace, and bombed 14 hospitals, universities, power plants, and airports."

"At 6:01 a.m., the Frost Plated Air Force announced: The airborne forces of the Grante Republic have been completely destroyed."

"At 6:08 a.m., the Grante Republic announced that the Sipeya Fusion Center had been damaged and was undergoing emergency repairs."

"At 6:18 a.m., Sky Ring Zangma Private Security Co., Ltd. expressed willingness to provide 300 elite mercenaries for Grante."

"At 6:22 a.m., the Red Arrow Empire demanded a GTB organization investigation team to enter the Mingji Humanity shelter to investigate the phenomenon of anti-human experiments."

"At 7:03 a.m., the First Combat Group of Fourth Rule crossed the Golba Mountains, invading the legitimate territory of the Grante Republic."

"At 7:07 a.m., the acting President Xi Silong of the Grante Republic made a speech: This is an act of shameless aggression, we will drive the Frost Plated ghosts out of our land, and no one will ever enslave our people again. As long as Bemudes still has one warrior, we will fight to the end. Long live Grante, long live the Republic."

Dum dum deng deng—

Large rotorcraft carrying female Fourth Rule Agents flew across the skies of the Outer World, with the crimson and black horizon leveling with them; the broadcast played relaxing music as the female agents chatted and laughed buoyantly.

"Gina, look, this is the latest military-grade prosthesis, it’s freaking awesome, I’m in love with this thing."

A female agent proudly showed off her newly implanted prosthesis. Without moving, she slowly separated a holographic projection. She interlocked her fingers and swung her hips from side to side, and the projection swayed in sync, making it hard to tell which was which.

"Oh please, Chu Qi, with that body of yours, how many Grante rebels can you kill?" Gina, the one-eyed female agent, mocked: "I have killed 3 regular soldiers from the Rose Army. How many have you fought?"

"What’s the difference? The Rose Army is just a joke. It’s because the men in the regular army are so pathetic that they can’t stop the attack of a bunch of trash from the Rose Army." Chu Qi pouted. She thrust out her chest, where the prosthesis was implanted, and said arrogantly, "Look at this, ’Ostrich’ synthetic electronic muscles, I can flip a car with one hand. Grantians, just a bunch of farmers, I’ll slaughter them indiscriminately."

"Heh, how about we make a bet? I can kill at least a hundred," replied Gina.

"Delighted to, if I lose, I’ll hand over that handsome guy you played with last time."

"Then I’ll have you buy me a month’s supply of coffee."

They chatted about origins, families, gender jokes, as well as Grante’s tobacco and food delicacies. Some were even looking at a tourist map of Grante, discussing where to find entertainment. The agents talked and laughed, not taking the war seriously at all.

The war was destined for their victory from the start.

Gina was holding a hot coffee, chatting and laughing with colleagues when, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed an outlier. This was an elite agent with turquoise hair and pointed, brain-wave-enhancing antennae on both sides of her temples. Her golden-green eyes were fixed on the combat manual, not interacting with anyone. She occasionally bowed her head to check her weapons and combat gear. In contrast to her relaxed colleagues, her expression was quite serious.

"Yo."

Gina walked up, leaned against the wall, and greeted the female agent:

"I haven’t seen you before, where are you from?"

The elite agent didn’t respond to her, still engrossed in reading the combat manual. Gina, growing curious, took a sip of her coffee and teased:

"What’s the use of looking at those? They don’t even have tanks or combat aircraft, and we’ve got two airborne divisions and mobile armor backing us up."

The elite agent glanced at her and said flatly:

"That’s because you have a powerful nation behind you. What does that have to do with you?"

"You sure have a way with words. How did you qualify as an elite?" Gina snorted: "Oh, are you perhaps drafted from some remote, backwater city on the edge? Afraid of dying in battle? Hey, don’t worry, it’s just a colony, what’s there to fear? We’re just going to suppress a bunch of troublemakers, liberate the abused women. What’s there to be afraid of?"

The elite agent casually replied:

"Have you ever died?"

"—Huh?"

"Being on the brink of death, or watching your own soul separate from your body, as every cell, every drop of blood slowly drains from you, starving until you’re dizzy and blurred."

"Shoving everything you see into your belly, just wishing you could fill it, but still powerless, watching your loved ones starve to death right before your eyes."

"Your originally doting little sister tells you ’Sister, I see steamed buns, cream bread, and milk’, and then her head tilts, hitting the concrete floor. Under the blazing sun, she gradually rots and stinks."

The elite agent’s description was vivid and chilling.

"You..." Gina’s mouth twitched.

The elite agent crossed her legs and turned a page, saying calmly:

"I’ve died."

Gina felt this person was sick. She was about to say something when she suddenly noticed the elite agent’s eyes emitting a faint blue glow.
