Chapter 041: Secrets and the Forbidden Laws of Heaven

Hearing the name Ye Tian, Su Mingxuan’s eyes flickered slightly. So, there really was a connection between him and Bai Suxin?

Then the plot was falling into place… The woman he loved betrayed him, his brothers suffered heavy casualties, and the Child of Fate’s hatred value instantly maxed out. The Bai family, Bai Suxin—they all had to die. This was a textbook opening for an invincible main character.

Seeing the strange look on Su Mingxuan’s face, Bai Suxin quickly said, “These were all Ye Tian’s personal wishes. There’s nothing between me and him. Being born into the Bai family… it didn’t matter who I was supposed to marry.”

Su Mingxuan didn’t respond. So eager to explain? That would definitely lead to misunderstandings. He found it amusing and asked, “How strong is this Ye Tian?”

That was what he really wanted to know. A direct threat level of SSS+—he had to be way stronger than Qin Yu, who could punch through a pillar. Maybe not just stronger, but exponentially so.

Bai Suxin immediately replied, “The Heaven, Earth, Profound, and Yellow Divisions are elite national task forces. Their strength far surpasses ordinary special ops. And those in their ranks often possess unique abilities.”

“As for Ye Tian, he was the strongest in the history of the Heaven Division. He’s different. He seems to possess a mysterious power no one understands. From what I’ve gathered, ten years ago, he could already fight the experts of the secret realms.”

Secret realms? Su Mingxuan frowned slightly. Even though he was a member of the Su family, since he hadn’t entered that inner circle yet, there were still many things he didn’t know.

Noticing his confusion, Bai Suxin gently explained, “Secret realms are powers hidden from the public eye. But… under the laws of heaven, they are forbidden from emerging into the world. These people are incredibly powerful.”

“Their bodies emit something called qi. They can control objects with qi, harm people with flower petals or falling leaves. In other words… they’re ancient martial artists.”

“So impressive!” Su Xiaomeng’s eyes lit up with amazement but quickly turned to worry. “If they’re that strong, wouldn’t it be easy for them to kill us? Oh no, we’re doomed!”

Bai Suxin laughed at her adorably dramatic reaction and said gently, “How could that be? Xiaomeng is so cute, who would have the heart to hurt you? The secret realm people are strong, but if they were truly unrestricted, how could they be forced to stay hidden?”

“The laws of heaven forbid their emergence. Above the Four Divisions of Heaven, Earth, Profound, and Yellow… there’s something even more terrifying. A dragon…”

Before she could finish, Bai Suxin suddenly went pale. Her eyes filled with fear as she looked toward the ceiling.

Su Mingxuan was stunned. Thanks to his enhanced physique, he could clearly sense a spiritual force assault Bai Suxin’s mind, stopping her from finishing her sentence. Above the Four Divisions… an even more terrifying dragon? What dragon?

Seeing her face drain of color, Su Mingxuan chose not to press further. It was better to ask the old man in the future. Bai Suxin likely wasn’t even qualified to talk about this level of classified information. After all… the laws of heaven were not to be violated.

“Big sis, are you okay?” Su Xiaomeng immediately asked with concern when she noticed Bai Suxin’s sudden change.

Bai Suxin shook her head. “I’m fine.”

So they were warning her? As a former intelligence agent of the Heaven Division, she knew far more than most. Just like earlier—when they had been in complete despair, and the white-robed celestial woman had suddenly appeared.

Su Xiaomeng didn’t know who she was. But Bai Suxin understood—that was the hidden power behind the Su family. And it was just the tip of the iceberg. That power… wasn’t only backing Su Xiaomeng.

She glanced at Su Mingxuan, eyes flashing with a trace of envy.

Seeing her silent, Su Mingxuan asked, “Go on. What happened between you and Ye Tian after that?”

Bai Suxin nodded. Her mood seemed to improve after that brief incident, and she spoke more calmly. “That year, the Wolf Fang and Falcon teams were sent on a mission. When they succeeded, the Division Chief told me to redirect them to a new extraction point. But that route required them to face the enemy’s top forces. Still, they obeyed the order.”

Su Mingxuan was silent.

“Ye Tian was too strong,” Bai Suxin continued. “He led both teams and carved a path through a sea of enemies to reach the extraction point I gave them. But what they didn’t know was that the top elite forces of the Four Divisions were already waiting there.”

“They were ambushed. The reason? They were accused of treason. They didn’t retrieve the item we wanted—instead, they brought back a weapon of mass destruction. The official story was that they intended to defect…”

Su Mingxuan’s face darkened.

No wonder Ye Tian was so full of hatred. After surviving hell and fighting his way back, thinking the mission was complete, he was ambushed by his own people? And the person who betrayed him was the woman he trusted and loved the most? That was the kind of betrayal that would warp a person.

But the orders weren’t issued by Bai Suxin, right? She wasn’t the mastermind.

As if reading his thoughts, Bai Suxin’s face turned bitter. “I didn’t want to believe it either. When I tried to ask the Division Chief for the truth, they pinned me with treason charges as well… because I was the one who handled all of Wolf Fang and Falcon’s mission logistics. Everything they did was under my direction.”

“So when they betrayed us… the blame naturally fell on me. They even produced forged evidence claiming I conspired with them to cover it up and eliminate Ye Tian and his team.”

Su Mingxuan clenched his fists.

A scapegoat. A living, breathing scapegoat. Calling her a jinx wasn’t wrong at all. Even though parts of the story were still unclear, Su Mingxuan could guess most of it. Both she and Ye Tian were sacrificed. And in the end, she bore all the blame.

Ye Tian’s hatred was now fixed on her. All the crimes were hers alone. No one would accept her. Nowhere was safe.

“So sad,” Su Xiaomeng said with teary eyes. “Why didn’t you go back to the Bai family to clear things up? It was the Division Chief who gave the order, right? He’s the real villain!”

Bai Suxin was silent for a moment before quietly replying, “There’s only one Division Chief for the Four Divisions… and he’s a member of the Bai family. My biological father.”

Su Xiaomeng was stunned. Su Mingxuan fell silent too. This… was beyond tragic. Calling her a jinx didn’t even begin to cover it. She was a woman abandoned by heaven itself.
