Me, A Villain! Is It So Wrong To Live off The Heroines?
Chapter 34 - The Echo—A Peerlessly Beautiful Figure

Chapter 034: The Echo—A Peerlessly Beautiful Figure

Inside the concrete house, Su Xiaomeng patted Bai Suxin’s back as she saw her silently weeping. “Don’t cry, Sister. I believe you,” she said earnestly.

“Xiaomeng…” Bai Suxin lifted her tear-stained eyes, her voice soft and filled with emotion. “Thank you.” She wrapped her arms around her knees and buried her head, tears falling like rain.

Just then—tat tat—a burst of gunfire echoed from the corner. A figure attempting to sneak in was instantly shot down by a bodyguard. But the gunfire also revealed his position.

Swish swish!

Two throwing knives flew in, embedding straight into his throat. His rifle clattered to the ground.

As he fell, he looked toward Su Xiaomeng with eyes filled with worry.

“Wu wu wu…” Watching this, Su Xiaomeng covered her mouth and sobbed. These were Su family’s elite guards. Some of them had even watched her grow up. And now…

Boom!

With one guard down, their pincer defense was no longer effective. The iron door of the house was kicked open with brute force. The remaining two bodyguards immediately raised their rifles and fired toward the door, thoughts singular in focus: even if they died, they had to protect Su Xiaomeng.

Rat-tat-tat!

The rapid bursts of gunfire echoed through the small concrete house. Two men attempting to enter were instantly gunned down. But more attackers followed. Two women leapt in through the windows.

Bang bang!

Two more shots rang out. The last two bodyguards dropped to the floor, each with a bullet wound between the brows. The assault was swift, precise, and merciless.

Terror filled Su Xiaomeng and Bai Suxin’s eyes as they watched the final defenders fall. No one was left to protect them now. The two women who had entered stepped forward with mocking smiles.

“Tsk tsk… never thought the heiress of the Bai family would be living like this. Looks like karma came knocking. What? Too ashamed to return to the Bai family, huh?”

“Who’d welcome a traitor anyway?” the other woman added coldly. “Isn’t that right, Bai Suxin?”

Bai Suxin trembled. “Traitor?” Su Xiaomeng looked confused. How could Sister Bai be that kind of person? If she had truly committed treason, shouldn’t the state be the one to handle her? Who were these people?

“No more chit-chat. Bring them down,” the woman called Die Luo barked from below. The two intruders nodded and moved in.

Seeing this, Bai Suxin grew desperate. She looked apologetically at Su Xiaomeng and bit her lip. “I’ll go with you. This has nothing to do with her. Please… let her go?”

The two women hesitated slightly, frowning. But Die Luo laughed below, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Bai Suxin, do you think you’re in any position to negotiate? You think we forgot? The Wolf Fang Squad, the Falcon Unit—over three hundred lives lost by your hand. That blood debt isn’t going anywhere.”

Mention of the past turned Bai Suxin pale. Her body swayed unsteadily. With her injuries from the night before, she could barely stay on her feet.

“Big sister!” Su Xiaomeng quickly supported her, eyes wide with worry.

“Oh, did I forget to tell you?” Die Luo continued. “The boss just sent a message. This little girl here now has a higher priority than you. Remember who the boss is? You’ll be seeing him very soon. Three minutes. Bring them both down.”

The two women began moving toward them again. Just as they were about to lay hands on Su Xiaomeng, several flower petals floated silently through the air. They struck the ground in front of her, embedding into the cement with sharp force.

Boom… crackle…

The petals hit the ground, and fissures split outward from the impact site, spreading rapidly to create a clear divide between the intruders and the girls. The effect was startling—almost otherworldly.

“Who’s there?!” the two women cried, startled, immediately drawing their pistols.

“I don’t want to interfere in Bai family matters.” A calm voice echoed around them. “I don’t want to interfere… interfere… fere… fere… re…”

The echo spread like ripples in water, its resonance eerie and unending. The two women’s faces turned pale. Who the hell was this? Since when could people speak with built-in reverb? Was he carrying a portable speaker?

The voice spoke again. “The taboo must not be touched. That’s the rule. Take the Bai family girl and leave. Don’t force my hand. Don’t force my hand… force my hand… hand… hand…”

The ethereal echo stirred unease in their hearts. They could feel it—within the echo was a force, intangible yet heavy, directly suppressing their mental strength. It was a warning. One they’d do well to heed.

Su Xiaomeng, who had moments ago been on the verge of panic, suddenly brightened up. Her Mingxuan-gege hadn’t arrived yet, but it turned out someone else was protecting her! She broke into a happy smile.

The strange echo naturally reached Die Luo’s ears as well, and her expression darkened. A martial artist? And seemingly not a simple one either. But the boss had given his orders. They had to complete the mission.

Martial artists could be dealt with.

Die Luo turned to her subordinates. “Enough with the tricks. Force her out!” She drew a throwing knife and charged toward the concrete house.

Whoosh!

A flurry of petals rained down from the sky, each one infused with a crushing force. At the same time, a woman in flowing white robes descended from above, her figure radiant and ethereal—

Her presence… breathtaking and otherworldly.
