Chapter 631: The Madness of Shen Miao

Chapter 631: Chapter 631: The Madness of Shen Miao

Shang Junxiao turned to Ning Mu, annoyed, "Ning Mu, you see? What sort of person he really is? I told you before, we should have called the police!"

"Call the police?"

Shen Miao’s eyes suddenly snapped to Shang Junxiao’s face, his expression chillingly calm, "Must you treat me like this, drive me into a corner until I’m left with no way out?"

Ning Mu opened his mouth but said nothing.

Unsure of what to say.

Shang Junxiao couldn’t suppress his anger, "Shen Miao, are you insane? Remember this, you’re the one forcing yourself into a dead end! If you hadn’t killed someone first, things would never have come to this! A life for a life, you’re only getting what you deserve!"

"I didn’t!"

Shen Miao fiercely interrupted Shang Junxiao, his eyes bloodshot, "This is not my retribution! I’ve become like this because of all of you, if it weren’t for you, I would never have ended up like this! I refuse to accept my fate, I refuse such retribution! As long as I kill you, no one will know what I’ve done! No one will believe the words of a ghost, no one really believes that ghosts exist in this world!"

Before he could finish, Shen Miao suddenly snatched the fruit knife from the table and charged towards Shang Junxiao.

Neither Shang Junxiao nor Ning Mu expected that at this point, Shen Miao would become even more frantic.

"Shen Miao, killing Shang Junxiao is pointless. I’m still here, what use is there in killing him?"

Ning Mu cried out in shock, hastily stepping in front of Shang Junxiao, trying to stop Shen Miao.

Shen Miao seemed crazed, as if he couldn’t hear Ning Mu’s voice at all.

By now, he knew his future was completely destroyed; he had completely lost his sanity.

It was as if killing Shang Junxiao would allow him to continue his glorious life.

But...

Before the fruit knife in Shen Miao’s hand could reach Ning Mu and Shang Junxiao, there was a loud bang—the door was kicked open.

The next second, several shadows pounced.

Shen Miao hadn’t even reacted before he was pinned down on the sofa, the fruit knife snatched away.

"Don’t move!"

Song Taishan, holding the fruit knife, shouted.

His colleague, quickly taking out handcuffs, shackled Shen Miao’s hands.

Shang Junxiao, recovering from his shock, turned and saw Jiangli and Fu Shiyan walking in.

"Abbot, Third Brother..."

Fu Shiyan looked him up and down, "Are you alright?"

Shang Junxiao shook his head dazedly, "I, I’m fine..."

"You, you had it planned all along, you were scheming against me?"

Shen Miao was still struggling furiously and howling in desperation.

Hearing this, Ning Mu also realized what was happening, his eyes wide as he looked at Jiangli.

Jiangli seemed to anticipate his question, cutting straight to the point, "I’m not the one who called the police. I promised you I wouldn’t call them, I can’t stop others."

Ning Mu: "..."

Ning Mu was filled with disappointment; at a loss for how to react to the outcome before him.

He turned to look at Shen Miao, suddenly asked, "Shen Miao, how did we end up like this? Why did you become this way?"

Shen Miao paused, his eyes still tinged with red but his expression slowly calming, he looked at Ning Mu and let out a cold laugh, "What’s there to regret? I’ve waited so long for this moment, anyone who stands in my way, I’ll kill!"

Ning Mu’s lips quivered, though he was already dead, already a ghost, his heart still ached as if someone had viciously gouged out a large chunk, leaving a bloody, gaping wound that kept dripping blood.

He laughed bitterly, tugging at the corner of his mouth, "Shen Miao, how did we end up on this path? Why did you turn out like this?"
