Chapter 528: Chapter 528: Wan Jiayuan

After the morning rituals, it was already 8 o’clock.

Xia Xin stretched his arms, and his legs were somewhat sore; as he massaged them, he couldn’t help but ask, "Ancestor, why did you think of offering incense to the Grandmaster today?"

Jiangli stood up, "Divining with the water bowl is his strong suit, while I’m not so adept; I asked for his help, it might be more effective."

Xia Xin blinked; were there actually things the old ancestor wasn’t good at?

He was somewhat incredulous.

Jiangli wasn’t being modest.

She really wasn’t skilled at divining with the water bowl; she hadn’t had much exposure to it and had only seen the Grandmaster do it once; now, she could only remember the gist.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have bothered coming to offer incense.

Xia Xin came to understand that, in the eyes of the old ancestor, even the Grandmaster was a tool.

He looked at the Grandmaster with a bit of sympathy.

But today, the Grandmaster seemed to be in good spirits, the corners of his mouth curled into a larger smile than usual.

It seemed he was quite satisfied with the incense offered by the old ancestor.

Xia Xin muttered to himself.

It’s all the same incense, so why does it seem particularly good when offered by the old ancestor?

"I’m hungry."

As Xia Xin was pondering, Jiangli touched her stomach and suddenly spoke up.

Xia Xin pushed himself up with his hands, struggling to stand on his numb legs, "Shall I go to Auntie Wang’s bun shop in front and buy some buns to bring back?"

Jiangli nodded, "Guests will be arriving shortly, just eat something to hold us over."

She looked somewhat regretful.

If there was time, she would be picky about breakfast.

Xia Xin realized that the old ancestor was indeed a foodie.

Moreover, Jiangli wasn’t concerned about being full; she just wanted to savor the taste, which made her particularly choosy.

Thinking this, Xia Xin hurried out the door to buy some buns for Jiangli.

Luckily, Auntie Wang’s bun shop was still open.

Xia Xin bought some meat buns and vegetable buns, handed them to Jiangli, and then went to make a cup of milk.

Jiangli was still receptive to a Chinese-style breakfast, and she ate happily.

Almost as soon as she finished eating, the door was knocked on.

"They’re here already?" Xia Xin looked at his phone in surprise; it wasn’t even nine o’clock yet, "Jiaoyang Temple is here already?"

Jiangli said, "Go open the door."

Xia Xin nodded and hurried out.

Opening the door, there stood a young man about thirty, dressed in a suit, looking fresh and neat, like a city white-collar worker.

"This is... Jiaoyang Temple, right?" Upon seeing Xia Xin come out, the young man gave a slight bow and asked tentatively.

Xia Xin hummed in affirmation, "That’s right, this is Jiaoyang Temple. You must be Spiritual Light, right? Didn’t we agree on ten o’clock? Why have you arrived so early?"

"That’s me." The young man smiled shyly, "My online name is Spiritual Light. After discussing these matters with the Abbot yesterday, I couldn’t sleep all night and rushed over early this morning. I’m sorry, is now not a good time?"

Xia Xin said, "It’s not inconvenient at all; the Abbot is already up. Please, come in."

The young man sighed with relief and followed Xia Xin into the Taoist Temple, "My name is Wan Jiayuan, just call me by my name."

Xia Xin nodded, "Mr. Wan, please, right this way."

Wan Jiayuan said thanks and, together with Xia Xin, entered the side hall.

Jiangli was already seated in her usual spot and upon seeing them come in, said, "Come, have a seat."

Xia Xin immediately introduced, "Mr. Wan, this is the Abbot of our Jiaoyang Temple."

Wan Jiayuan, already aware from Yun Xizi’s fans that the Abbot of Jiaoyang Temple was a young girl, wasn’t too surprised to see Jiangli.

Approaching, he bowed slightly and said, "Abbot, greetings, I’m Spiritual Light, my real name is Wan Jiayuan."

Jiangli replied, "Please take a seat, Mr. Wan."
