Chapter 251: Chapter 251: The Ancestor Tries the Joy of Chubby Water for the First Time
After speaking, Jiangli tossed her mobile phone to Xia Xin and turned to leave.
She seemed quite angry.
Xia Xin didn’t care to waste words with Xie Yanfang and simply said, "So, you’re Wang Yao’s mother, right? If you want to expose us online that’s up to you, but as our Abbot said, you can just search for Jiaoyang Temple online and see what people say about our reputation, goodbye now."
After hanging up the phone, Xia Xin rushed into the side hall.
Jiangli was already seated at the table, playing with her own mobile phone.
Lin Yurong stood beside her, her eyes full of confusion and fear, obviously noticing something was off with Jiangli.
Seeing Xia Xin come in, she looked at him, as if asking what had happened.
Xia Xin glanced at Jiangli.
Though her face was expressionless, Xia Xin could still feel that the ancestor was quite upset.
Probably she had never been cursed at so directly before.
After pondering for a moment, Xia Xin ran out.
When he returned half an hour later, he brought back some snacks and placed them in front of Jiangli.
"Ancestor, I just went out and bought these—fried chicken and cola! They’re the ultimate stress-relievers. Try them, they’re really delicious!" Xia Xin said, as if offering a treasure.
Only then did Jiangli lift her eyelids and looked at the golden crispy fried chicken, her appetite suddenly whetted.
She picked up a piece and put it into her mouth.
It was as if she had totally forgotten how much she had eaten before.
"This is really tasty!"
The fried chicken crunched loudly in her mouth, and Jiangli’s eyes lit up instantly.
Xia Xin let out a sigh of relief and handed the cola to Jiangli, "And this, this is called cola. Ancestor, try this, it’s very tasty. We call it Happy Fat House Water here."
"Why is it called Happy Fat House Water?"
Jiangli held up the cola, which was still icy to the touch, and exclaimed with delight, "It’s actually ice-cold water!"
Drinking something this cool in the summer felt oh so good.
Suddenly energized, she looked at the cola and then back at Xia Xin, puzzled about how to drink it, "How do you open this, and why is there a stick on top?"
"That’s not a stick."
Not knowing whether to laugh or cry, Xia Xin pointed at the straw stuck in the cola and said, "This is called a straw, Ancestor. You can drink with it by biting and sucking hard."
Jiangli eyed it skeptically and gave it a go.
To her surprise, it actually worked!
However...
Jiangli blinked her eyes from the chill of the ice water, "It’s so cold, but why does it feel fizzy?"
"This kind of drink is called a carbonated beverage; carbonation tends to create bubbles," Xia Xin explained, then realizing the explanation might be too complex for the ancestor, he added with a smile, "As long as it’s tasty, that’s what matters, right, Ancestor?"
Holding the cola and biting the straw, Jiangli nodded her head, taking a big gulp, "It’s indeed quite tasty, so refreshingly cold, really satisfying! But you still haven’t told me why it’s called Happy Fat House Water?"
"Because it’s high in calories and can easily lead to weight gain, many people who prefer staying indoors like to drink cola," Xia Xin explained briefly.
Jiangli made a sound of understanding, biting the straw and squinting her eyes in contentment. She couldn’t have liked it more.
She was a completely different person from the little one who was huffing and puffing just a moment ago.
Seeing this, Xia Xin finally relaxed.
Jiangli was happily alternating between gulps of cola and bites of fried chicken.
Xia Xin was a bit worried about the explosion of calories.
But considering the Ancestor’s physique, she probably wouldn’t put on weight.
So Xia Xin said nothing more and simply stayed by Jiangli’s side.
Since he still needed to save money to pay off debts, he didn’t dare to spend recklessly and had only bought a single portion of fried chicken and cola.
Plus, he had eaten quite a bit earlier and wasn’t hungry now.
Seeing this, Lin Yurong also relaxed, sitting down quietly beside them. She was always quiet by nature and not prone to much talking.
