Chapter 122: Xavier’s Grand Performance on the Master Stage (i)

Meanwhile, back in Crimson Vow’s private guild base—shit was not okay.

Lucas was losing his damn mind.

"FUCK!!" he roared as he kicked a metal chair across the hall. It clanged into a crate and sent potions scattering. A couple of guild members nearby flinched and looked away, pretending they didn’t see anything.

Lucas grabbed a decorative spear off the wall and hurled it like a javelin, shattering the digital display board that showed the last raid rankings. Xavier’s name sat right on top—bold, golden, untouchable.

Lucas was practically foaming at the mouth now. "I had him! I had him! That smug bastard! He was right fucking there—" He swung his sword wildly in the air, mimicking the moment he tried to strike Xavier at the end of the raid, only to get teleported out like a clown mid-swing. "AND I LOOKED LIKE A FUCKING IDIOT!"

No one argued.

Ethan was sitting in the back of the room, arms crossed, watching Lucas with the same dead look he always had when Lucas went off like this.

He muttered, mostly to himself, "There’s no saving him..."

Lucas turned sharply. "He’ll be in the next raid. I know it. He has to be. And this time—I’m gonna fucking kill him."

Ethan just rolled his eyes. "With what? Your seven mythics? That guy’s loaded with thirty-seven now. Even if we gang up, we won’t scratch him."

Lucas ignored him and paced around the room like a caged animal. That’s when both of them got the notification.

[Requiem has left the guild: Crimson Vow]

It popped right up in front of their vision like a death sentence.

Lucas froze.

Then—snap—he lost it all over again.

"WHAT?! That fucking traitor!!"

He picked up a mana lamp and smashed it into the wall. The glowstone core inside burst into fragments, sparking out. Lucas stomped and screamed like a toddler denied candy. "He left?! After everything?!"

A guild member stepped in, hesitant. "U-Uh, Lucas... the next event raid starts in three minutes..."

"GET THE FUCK OUT!!" Lucas shouted without even looking. His blade flared red, and before the poor guy could even turn, Lucas dashed forward and slashed through his avatar. The guy burst into digital particles, dropped some inventory, and disappeared.

Ethan finally stood up. "Well... at least we didn’t pay him upfront."

Lucas scoffed and slumped into his throne-like seat. "Pay him? Hah. Fuck no. I never planned to pay that old man anyway. Even if he topped all those raids, what, you think I got 500k lying around?"

He wiped the sweat off his forehead and laughed bitterly.

"My fucking father doesn’t even give me pocket money anymore. Says I need to learn ’self-discipline.’ Piece of shit. If it wasn’t for Grandpa’s monthly 100k, I wouldn’t even be able to breathe. And even that’s almost gone."

Ethan tilted his head. "Where’s it all going?"

Lucas smirked, smug and gross. "Cyberware upgrades. And escorts. Mostly escorts."

Ethan didn’t respond and thought, ’Just slay sluts. What’s with this fancy term?’

A new notification blinked at the top of their vision.

[Event Raid Begins in 00:00:03...]

Lucas stood up, grinning like a demon. "It’s fine. Doesn’t matter. Requiem’s gone? Good. That means I don’t have to split the XP anymore. I’m gonna steal the fucking spotlight this time."

Ethan muttered, "Sure. Let’s see how long that confidence lasts..."

And then the raid began.

The raid kicked off. And just like before, Xavier took a backseat.

He let Oliver enjoy the show for the first two stages, watching his friend run around, slash mobs, and rack up contribution points. Xavier only stepped in when things got hairy—landing some flashy, well-timed saves that made the crowd cheer. The man didn’t even lift his mythic sword properly until the final stage.

Then came the third stage.

Xavier stepped forward, stretched his arms like he was waking up from a nap, and dove into the boss arena. His cooldowns weren’t all back—some mythic skills still on delay, some legendary skills locked—but who gave a shit?

Requiem had left the Crimson Vow.

Lucas and Ethan had no one left to carry them.

And with that sweet thought in his head, Xavier lit the damn field up.

Boom. Boom. Slash. Strike.

Fire. Ice. Black mist. Lightning.

A chain reaction of skill fusions erupted across the arena. The sky split, the ground tore, and the massive demon beast—"Gore Tyrant, Phase 3 Variant"—screeched so loud it cracked a few players’ audio settings.

Xavier’s health barely moved.

The boss’s HP bar, though?

Evaporated.

And with one final devastating cross-slash—his mythic blade pulsing red—Xavier ended it.

The world slowed. A golden glow swallowed him whole.

Then came the chime.

[Congratulations! You have reached Level 100!]

[You are the first player on Earth Server to achieve Level 100.]

[You have been awarded: Title - Pioneer of Ascension.]

[New System Access Granted.]

[New Skill Slot Unlocked.]

[Level Cap Temporarily Increased to 110 for You.]

A full-screen animation blasted across the servers.

A shining figure stood on a cliff, cloaked in swirling shadows and divine light. His blade raised high, armor burning with runes—XAVIER’s name burned below in glowing gold, while the words FIRST LEVEL 100 PLAYER IN EARTH SERVER HISTORY flared like a victory chant.

Players gasped.

The world chat blew up.

"NO WAY!!"

"BRO JUST STARTED TODAY WTF??"

"HE’S LEGEND ALREADY!"

"XAVIER MVP AGAIN??"

"I saw him pull 14,000 tickets earlier... he’s rich as fuck lol."

"My guy out here breaking the laws of grinding."

"I’m uninstalling."

"Adopt me pls, Mr. Xavier."

Crowds gathered around him again. People cheering, dancing, throwing emotes, tossing confetti bombs. Xavier just stood there, arms folded, head tilted, calm and smug. Like this was nothing new.

Then a voice.

Bitter. Loud. Soaked in rage.

"HE’S CHEATING!!"

Everyone turned.

Lucas was storming through the crowd, fists clenched, eyes red. "This guy’s a fucking fraud! He didn’t earn any of this! It’s pay-to-win bullshit!"

Xavier tilted his head, blinking slowly.

"I will kill you!" Lucas attacked Xavier.
