Chapter 73: Knight of Darkness

Chapter 73: Knight of Darkness

The Water Fae was barely holding her own against the Snake despite going on to ’Elemental Empowerment’ mode. The Damn Snake was strong, incredibly strong and it was smart as well, it worked together with the Ghostbounds made from the bodies of the Lesser Fae with great sync. She was running out of time.

The thunder Fae was taking the brunt of 15 Lesser Fae alone, while each High Fae was vastly superior to all the lesser ones largely due to their different levels. But if they were all on the Pathwalker level, one high Fae could at most handle 3 Lesser Fae with ease, if any more are added it would be a struggle. So, one could understand the struggle she was having.

She was running out of time.

Shailyn had two swords pierced through her stomach, though it did not pierce through any of her vital organs considering the anatomy of the Fae folks as well as her level of power. Just one week of good rest would be enough to heal that. But the situation wasn’t particularly favorable to her. She was determined to kill the human regardless though. She had to. She slowly started to understand the intentions of her queen.

Which only horrified her even more and made her more resolute to killing the human no matter what. But she was facing the same problem as her 2 good sisters. Her empowerment mode was going to run out soon enough. She was running out of time.

Meanwhile, the 5 Fae in the sky were watching everything with baited breaths. Unlike the 3 who were fighting they saw a silhouette covered in complete darkness escape from the destructive vortex of the wind in a fraction of a moment when Shailyn was distracted.

Suddenly out of nowhere Shailyn’s pupils dilated to the maximum, and her breathing stopped. She could feel it, she could feel death, it was so close that it was clutching her neck in its eternal embrace. Her whole body shivered in such fear that made her blood run cold.

She stopped powering the wind storm with her energies as she gritted her teeth and turned around at such speed that was hardly possible for her, which made the wound in her stomach even worse as her intestines were cut even further. But Shailyn did not care about it in the slightest.

Her fear had overwhelmed her to such an extent that at this moment all pain became meaningless in her eyes when death had almost taken her in its eternal embrace.

With every ounce of her power that she could muster she compressed all of her wind power into her fists as she threw the strongest attack of her entire life as if her existence itself depended on it.

The first thing that caught her eye when she turned around after throwing her attack at a miraculous speed was a figure covered in complete darkness from head to toe as if it were Knight of Shining Darkness. As if the Herald of Darkness came to claim her head no matter what.

The Knight of Darkness was shooting toward her while wielding two swords of pure darkness that thirsted for her blood. In an instant, the Knight of Darkness cut through her wind attack as if it was nothing, and then with a large swing of his sword, the body of the Wind Fae named Shailyn was cut in half in a horizontal arc.

Sliiiiiiikkkkkkkkkk...........

The clear sound of metal cutting through flesh was heard everywhere as every single eye that was watching the battle widened their eyes to its extreme, even the illustrious Fae queen was no exception. It was a comeback in such a manner that even she did not predict. Everyone clenched their fists in sheer excitement as if their worst enemy had died at their hands and not their own kind. It spoke volumes of the insane mentality of the Fae, perhaps they were already mad on their own terms.

Shailyn’s body was cut in half in such a swift manner that she did not even manage to let out a regretful scream in her last moments. It is said often that eyes are the window to the soul, especially in one’s final moment they are more susceptible to the presence of the soul than anything else. In the last moments, her eyes met the cold and ruthless eyes of the human, and there was something else in his eyes. It was madness, it was hidden deep within. So, so much madness that was hard to describe in just words.

All of the Fae had their mouths agape, the turn of events was just too much for them. Even the Water Fae and the Thunder Fae were momentarily distracted which opportunity was well exploited by the ghostbounds of Valtar. Which only forced them on backleg even more.

After cutting her body in perfect half he landed on the ground from 2 meters high in the sky since Shailyn was floating there. Then with the disturbing sound of flesh popping 2 parts of Shailyn landed right behind Valtar. The whole ground became covered in light green colored blood, her intestines flew everywhere as they busted and splattered all over the place, painting an extremely gruesome scenery.

This time Valtar did not make the same mistake as his eyes darted towards the 5 Fae standing up in the sky, he looked at them intently for 1 whole minute without uttering a single word. Eventually, he shifted his gaze to the upper half of Shailyn’s corpse realizing that none of them would be interrupting his meal time this time around.

He carved out a similar-looking crystal simply put it in his mouth and swallowed it without hesitation. He was vigilant the entire time ready to be attacked again by any of them or all of them. His worries this time turned out to be a false alarm as none attacked and they simply kept watching.

Valtar then swiftly turned around looking at the Water Fae and Thunder Fae, both had an extremely fearful expression on their faces. A small opening was formed on his helmet so that his enemies could look directly into his eyes.

The blood-red eyes of the Knight of Darkness met with the eyes of his enemies. They instantly tried to escape from this place as if trying to run away, but how could his ghostbounds let that happen? Not to mention even if they do run away where will they go? Not like they can run away. After all, they are caged. The 2 Fae were simply overcome with fear.

Seeing that they could not escape the encirclement while the herald of death was dragging his sword through the ground covered in the light green blood of their sister. In their fear they began fighting frantically, they were losing their minds. Eventually, they plead to their sisters who were watching from above to come and help them and save their lives.

The two of them began to threaten them first which did not work, they began to plead with and help for the sake of their sisterhood, but it did not work.

They eventually began to beg their good sisters like dogs but even that showed no result. They simply kept watching with a cold and indifferent look. An Evil smile crept on Valtar’s face seeing this miserable state of the 2 Fae.

With a powerful stomp on the ground, he shot forward like a rocket at an impossible speed at the water Fae. With a powerful swing of his sword, a crescent ark of darkness element shot out from him. Something which the water Fae barely defended against.

She was truly on her last leg, she was fighting against both the Shadow Snake and Valtar himself. While all the lesser Fae had gone to hold off the Thunder Elements Fae. After an unknown amount of time the water Fae had fallen, and her heart was pierced through by Valtar.

He made sure to keep her intact, after all now that the Lesser Fae were all about to be exhausted and he needed more ghostbounds for the next round. He turned towards the thunder Fae. This time she did not hold back anymore as she started using her powers in full destruction mode.

He did not waste any more time as he neared her unharmed by her lightning attacks. His armor of darkness covered all of his body, it could not touch him no matter how powerful her attacks were. The pure darkness negated and erased it all as long as it came into touch.

She shouted at Valtar, "You Bastard? How did you survive? There should not be any way you could come back from near death state."

Valtar did not answer her as he continued his assault. The Fae could only fight him in close combat with his physical prowess now. Valtar with his dark steps and so many sensory-type skills as well as ’Gorilla Strength’ and ’Tiger Speed’ that boosted his strength and agility passively gave him a huge edge over the Fae.

The Fae seems to be able to only use thunder externally not internally, if she could do that she could have boosted her strength and speed to a whole new level which would have given Valtar enough trouble to not be able to take her out easily.

But it’s not like he was alone either, the shadow threw in its attacks one after another at every chance. Even his ghostbounds jumped in from time to time with his perfect coordination. Out of nowhere, a sword pierced her back.
