Chapter 66: Chapter 66 - Welcome
She smiled even more beautifully at him. Valtar, seeing that beautiful smile, felt his lust rising steadily. For a moment, he looked at the beauty even more intently and thought of something, then he said aloud, "I know you’re listening, Dyona. come out please."
Thailyn’s beautiful smile cracked, and her expression became horrified. Her cute face turned red in anger, which somehow made her look even cuter. Valtar chuckled internally, seeing that.
Thailyn said while barely suppressing her anger, "y-You? How dare you call the queen by her name?"
Valtar smiled to her, "Don’t worry she is the one who asked me to call her by that."
The Fae calmed down slightly hearing that "Even so you cannot say it, it is disrespectful."
At that very moment the silhouette of the Fae queen magically appeared in front of both of them with her classic smile that conveyed no particular emotions.
Her eyes darted back and forth between Valtar and Thailyn and a glint of understanding flashed through her eyes for a moment. Then she said to Valtar, "Well, we meet again."
Valtar did not respond with a greeting instead directly went straight to the point, he pointed his finger towards the cute and confused Thailyn, "I want her."
Dyona’s eyebrow twitched at the straightforwardness of the human in front of her. She asked in confusion, "I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean?"
Valtar snickered slightly, "You definitely understand what I mean."
The queen remained silent for a moment thinking deeply of what to say. Meanwhile, the woman in question was panicking and blushing at the shamelessness of the man in front of her, "N-no, my queen he’s just j-joking. y-it’s not like that."
Then she fell to her knees and started crying. Valtar’s heart ached seeing her like that. Just as he was about to go pull her up and console her. The queen beat him to it. Like a mother consoling her child, she hugged her and removed the tears from her eyes. She stated to her, "Sigh, it’s ok child you don’t need to worry, I don’t mind his attitude, this boy is just unhinged like that."
Then she turned to Valtar and said in a slightly serious tone, "I’m afraid this is a request I cannot agree with Valtar."
Valtar stared at her with his indifferent expression and said, "No, you can agree to it, just what is it that I need to do?"
Thailyn had her in the queen’s chest as she was hugging so she was unable to see the expression on the queen’s face. Her mind was already in a mess after hearing Valtar’s second statement. But if she could see the dark grin on their queen’s face she would have realized something very very wrong.
Valtar kept his stoic face despite the hideous grin forming on the Fae queen’s face. After all, he had some understanding of the queen’s character. So, this part of her did not surprise him.
Eventually, she stated to him, "My little one has arranged a game for you to make things more interesting. So, managed to go through half of their games. Then you can have her."
Thailyn clung onto the Fae queen’s dress even more tight, her face turned beet red in embarrassment, and she began to squirm like a cat caught stealing cheese.
Valtar was confused, "What game?"
Dyona turned her head away from him and pushed Thailyn away slightly, she said to her,
"None of your sisters better know of this or you know what will happen otherwise and though I don’t blame you for any of this you must receive a small punishment."
She nodded obediently like a chicken and did not dare refute it, the queen smiled and said to her, "You were the one supposed to be the first to go, but now you will have to wait until half of the game is over."
Dyona then looked towards Valtar and said, "You’ll know the details once you go inside."
Thailyn looked at Valtar for a moment, she turned her head away in slight anger and embarrassment as she went inside immediately.
Dyona also gave Valtar an understanding look as she vanished. When both of them were gone. Valtar’s expression turned absolutely serious from the previous gentle look he was giving Thailyn. Because the queen just said something to Valtar before vanishing.
He was no fool either. While Thailyn herself seems to be innocent, in total it’s a tactic made by the other High Fae together perhaps to subconsciously let his guard down. That was previously the reason it was Thailyn who came to greet me to make me less vigilant against them. He also thought about the term High Fae, if there are divisions between them as High Fae and Lesser Fae then the 5 Fae he saw in Hansel’s memories were mostly likely lesser Fae.
But Dyona’s attitude is the exact opposite as if she wants all the Fae to die. He shook his head and alongside his ghostbounds entered the area without overcomplicating things any further.
The moment he entered the area his worldview almost shattered, it was one thing to witness the inner area of the Fae folks through someone else’s memory and seeing it as well as being inside of it yourself. He had to admit in all honesty, it was the single most breathtaking spectacle of nature he had ever seen, and by a very wide margin at that.
The beauty of it was just unreal, to say the least, It looked like a paradise of peace and harmony. Green grasses were everywhere, and a road in the middle its both sides were large trees that covered the road shadows yet when entered as small as if you had traveled to a different world in itself.
The more he saw the more mesmerized he became, yet he did not lose his caution.
After walking on that road for an unknown amount of time, he finally saw his enemies.
An open ground where there was no grass or plant, the only place that was not filled with green. It was an area of 1 or 2 football fields combined.
On the other side, he could see 10 Fae folks standing at the front including Thailyn herself. Looking more intently, her shy and soft nature was nowhere to be seen replaced by a more serious expression. Behind the 10 fae were 30 more Fae’s standing obediently.
Valtar understood the situation, the 10 at the front were High Fae and the 30 behind was Lesser Fae. One of them stepped forward and said softly and the words reached his ears as if she was only standing a few meters away from him. A normal human would not even be able to discern people considering the distance of almost one football field’s width.
But he was not just a normal human anymore neither were his enemies normal. While all the other tribes in the forest continuously were afraid of the Fae but everything that happened till now did not suggest anything for them to be regarded in such a dangerous category.
The fae did not even have any hostility towards him in general.
The words of the Fae reached his ears, "Hello human, I am Raelyn. Let me explain how we should proceed from here on out and the rules of our little game. Well, calling them rules is a bit of a stretch but we managed to come up with a way to clash against each other in a way that is not unfair to you. After all, we would not want you to die without giving us the best entertainment possible. I hope you understand."
A glint of cold resolve flashed through Valtar’s eyes as he thought, ’These bitches truly aren’t taking me seriously it seems. Well good for me, killing you bitches will only be easier in that way.’
Raelyn continued, "We high Fae will clash with you one by one while your minions will clash with lesser Fae behind me. Within a time limit if you can defeat us. You will simply face another one of us next. After healing yourself or resting that is."
Valtar questioned, "Are you saying I’m not allowed to kill you people?"
Raelyn blinked her pretty eyes confused for a moment then they all burst out in mocking laughter. They all laughed heartily for a whole 5 minutes except for Thailyn who kept a straight face.
Valtar’s expression remained indifferent no matter how they laughed because soon, these bitches won’t have the capacity to even laugh anymore.
Eventually, Raelyn said after she was done laughing,
"I must say human, that is the biggest joke I have ever heard. To answer your question, yes you can kill us."
"That is if you can do so in the first place." she said her mocking tone apparent to anyone. Even Thailyn shook her head slightly in her worry for Valtar.
Valtar asked again with no change in his expression, "In the first clash if the One high Fae and the all Lesser Fae are killed then in the next round will my dark elves join or should I fight alone?"
Raelyn’s expression became so disdainful that Valtar almost lost control of his emotions. Even the Lesser Fae behind seem to have a look as if they were looking at a piece of trash.
Raelyn said, "We can discuss what to do further after you get through the first clash in one piece."
