_______________________________________________
The moment the shadow demon entered Valtar’s shadow, there was darkness, boundless darkness. It was surprising because, for the first time, it saw the heart of a being was like this, there should not be so much darkness, at least not in a living being as far as it understood.
But then it thought something and simply kept walking, it continued to walk and walk. Even after an extremely long amount of time endlessly walking, it did not see anything but pure darkness. It was even hard to understand if it was moving closer to the heart or staying in the same position. Every living being has a self-defense mechanism, three to be precise, which are physical and conceptual as well as emotional. The shadow is the window to the heart or the soul of a being.
So, the ability of shadow possession allows the shadow demon to enter the deepest depth of the heart of a being. Depending on the willpower or stage of the particular being, it may or may not be able to enter the place. If a person has stronger mental fortitude, even after entering their shadow, the shadow demon might need to put a significant amount of effort into reaching the deepest depth and breaking down the said being.
The human whose shadow he entered is on the same level as him, for that reason, it was naturally able to enter his shadow but it was the first time, it took him so long and despite that there was no sign of the deepest part.
The demon almost began to doubt if the human was perhaps actually a dead creature in the guise of a human. Exactly then, far away in the distance, it saw a point of red light. The demon rejoiced seeing the point of red light even if it was quite far away. This time it began to run.
Fortunately for the demon, since it was the heart realm or some may call it the soul realm. There was no expenditure of energy here only thoughts and mental fortitude mattered here, nothing more and nothing less. After an uncountable amount of time, the dot had almost come close enough.
When the demon had almost reached the red light, an unknown force started pulling the demon towards it or inside it. The demon felt perplexed. He was not supposed to experience a pulling force, rather he was supposed to feel repulsion. It could not help but think that if the human’s mental fortitude was actually too weak? If not, there was no other explanation for this.
After letting itself be pulled by the attraction force, in a flash the Shadow demon appeared in the core of the human’s heart.
Rah!...Rah!...Rah!...Rah!...Rah!...Rah!...Rah!...Rah!...
And what it saw inside of him made its mind break into pieces,,,,
The entire existence of the shadow demon shivered furiously in such fear that it began to whimper like a beast begging to be spared. The demon was standing on top of a 10-story building. It was some city on Earth, but the entire world had turned red.
The sky, the clouds, the ground as if there was only one color in the world and every other color was stripped away. Even the sun was deep red. It was raining blood from the sky. Of course, the demon did not know what location it was in. What it was standing on top of?
But it was the least of its concerns, the reason it was trembling in fear uncontrollably was not because everything in this world was covered in blood. Rather it was because of the reason behind the entire world turning red that was crying like a newborn beast.
AAAHHH... WEEEEEE... KREEEE...
Looking from the top of the tenth floor at the ground, witnessing the sheer scale of the cataclysmic slaughter, it held its mouth tightly in fear that something, something that would hear its cry. If someone were to stand right beside that demon, they would,,,,,,,, what they would see is,,,,,,,,,,,
billions,,,,,,, billions of human dead bodies lying on every inch of the city. Everywhere within 50-100 kilometers was filled with human dead bodies lying everywhere. The buildings, the roads, the houses, the skyscrapers, every single structure in the once modern-looking city was littered with human corpses of men, women, and children everywhere.
Blood flowed like a river through the entire city. Far in the distance. Even the sea was turning blood red because of the unimaginable amount of blood. There were multiple billions of dead bodies altogether in the 100-kilometer range. Among the billions of bodies not a single was intact. As if they were killed in a way that the blood would continue to flow from them till the last drop.
Because of the sheer amounts of blood flowing everywhere, a major part of it was turning to vapor. Making the air itself have a reddish hue. The demon could taste blood from the air itself. The vaporized blood gathered as clouds, eventually causing a phenomenon of blood rain from the skies.
Yes, this was the cause behind this entire world turning crimson, barely managing to stop itself from trembling, it peaked in a certain direction keeping itself hidden behind the walls. There was a gigantic being who was responsible for this cataclysmic slaughter.
In the dim light of blood-red dusk, a titan of unimaginable proportions strode into view—a monstrous behemoth stretching a full two kilometers in length. Its skin was the hue of deep, searing crimson, a living canvas stained with the fresh, rivulets of blood that cascaded along its colossal form. As it advanced, the titan’s presence warped the very air around it, the ground trembling under the weight of its unholy might.
With a laugh that bordered on madness—a sound that echoed like a chorus of deranged spirits—it threw its immense arms skyward. The outstretched limbs seemed to challenge the heavens themselves as if daring the stars to defy its reign. Every movement was a macabre dance of chaos and despair.
HAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHA! HUHAHAHA!
The moment the shadow demon heard of the Mad Titans deranged laughter, its mind was again on the brink of collapse. It was slowly losing its mind as if the laughter of the Titan was spreading madness throughout the world itself. Its laughter grew louder and louder to the point the world itself was quaking in fear.
Even the demon began laughing hysterically losing its mind and in the next moments it simply lost its consciousness. Thus it was forced out of the soul realm of Valtar.
When it opened its eyes again, it was standing 1 step away from Valtar’s shadow, The demon jumped back 3 meters in absolute fear and panic, Valtar blinked his blood-red eyes and hurriedly turned back towards the demon in caution. The chains that were binding him were no more, those things seemed to have vanished.
Valtar knew nothing of what happened after the demon entered his own shadow, only 2-3 seconds passed for him and he probably lost consciousness in between. When he looked towards the shadow demon which only held disdain towards him previously, was now looking at him with an overwhelming fear and terror that could not be concealed.
The demon’s entire body was shivering violently, it was sweating profusely, and its eyes looked like that of a beast pleading for its life in front of an apex predator. Valtar narrowed his eyes, he was confused, extremely confused. Just what happened which he did not know about for the arrogant and disdainful shadow demon to cower in fear like that?
The demon slowly lifted its finger and pointed at him in a fearful voice, "MONS..TER..."
The demon then looked at Valtar’s shadow and with one last struggle said a single word, "mimicry"
When it did so, Valtar’s shadow separated from him and went to the demon, its body started transforming, its tall and demon-like appearance with the two large horns became shorter, and the horns were gone. Slowly a shadowy figure just as same as Valtar stood in front of him.
It was expressionless, and seemed to be fully made of shadow. He dashed forward at his shadow mimic, and with the sword manifested through darkness he made the gesture of an attack. The mimic also manifested a blade of darkness just the same as him and in the exact same posture as well as speed, it attacked him.
Even the force behind their blows was equal to the point of unnerving. Valtar activated the ’Shadow Binding Howl’ To his surprise, it did not affect the shadow mimic in the slightest. After thinking for a moment he realized, ’Of course, could I be any more stupider?’
’It’s a shadow in itself, it doesn’t have another shadow, so what would be used to bind it?’
So, he decided to use all the skills that could be used, even tiger speed skills 1st activation which granted him a temporary boost in speed was activated, as for the rest of his passive skills, they were all active anyway. Of course, he did not panic, his mind was as calm as ice.
The skill ’Suppressed emotion’ seems to work far better in the midst of battle than when he’s out of combat. He even activated the skill of his earnings, the earrings transformed into a dark crown that lay on top of his head, giving him a majestic appearance.
Now he was ready to test out how much the damn mimic can copy, there’s definitely a limit to it and he was determined to find out.
