Chapter 57: Territorial Beast War Part-3

Unfortunately, the stupid beast did not realize that all of these fancy tricks were precisely to take it out by its enemy as all of this but simple distractions all along. Out of nowhere, the Shadow Tiger felt its body tremble from an enormous sense of danger that it felt very few times throughout its entire life.

Something shot out from the shadow of the Large Snake, the tiger was shocked at the power level of the thing that shot out from the shadow which it did not sense at all. It was something on the same level as itself. Its speed booster ability was still active and just as it was about to run away, a strange wolf-like howl resounded everywhere, time itself seemed to stop for anyone who heard the beastly cry as they could not move a single muscle in their body.

The shadow tiger clearly saw the human who shot out from the shadow of the snake and was aiming to attack him, then the human suddenly howled. Just like how the Alpha used to howl, as it was clearly the ability of the dead Alpha wolf. It did not expect something like that to happen. The tiger furiously tried with all its might to shake off the binding, only a few more seconds and it would be able to get out of the binding. But the few seconds now felt like an eternity for it.

In a flash, the human reached Shadow Tiger and plunged his sword straight into the head of the Tiger. Just like that the mighty tiger unmatched in its speed fell to the ground lifelessly unable to simply move in its last moments in front of the scheming vile human that took its life.

Puchi....

The human was obviously Valtar. He looked towards his right 70 meters away where the large horde of the shadow snakes were fighting the ghostbound of the First Elder. As expected he was simply slaughtering them left and right and even making the snakes fight each other most of the time.

Just at that moment, two loud-painful cries were heard from his behind as he looked back and smiled, the snake and the gorilla both were in the range of his skills effect unable to move till now, taking that opportunity the ghostbounds latched onto the bodies of the two large beasts and now wounded their eyes making them unable to see as the ghostbounds were unaffected by the ’Shadow Binding Howl’. Only after losing their eyes were they able to break off from the skill effect.

Valtar narrowed his eyes, he obviously considered everything. After all, the skill couldn’t have such strong effects on the beings similar level to him. It’s the same as binding someone with a rope. If a person knows you’re about to tie them up with a rope, they will struggle and you will naturally be unable to tie them up. But what if they are in a situation that they did not expect and it took only a second to tie them up with a rope?

While the snake and gorilla were busy trying to swat off the dark elves from their large bodies their guard was low, even the shadow tiger was not smart enough to notice something so it also easily fell prey to the skill of Valtar. Honestly, he did not expect to kill the tiger so smoothly as there was a great chance it would be vigilant since nothing was keeping it busy.

The reason why none of the ghostbounds were delegated to keep the Tiger busy was because,

Since it had a small body, no dark elves would be able to land on it.If any of the ghostbounds were to come and confront it, in the shortest moments it would torn to shreds since it had the greatest speed.

So, the only option was to simply let it be. After all, it would not expect anyone to be able to use the same skill as its dead adversary, the Alpha Wolf. Thus it let its guard down. Valtar was simply making use of a skill in the best possible way if not in a normal situation it would not have played as important of a role as it did now.

Now that the gorilla and snake broke free from the bind of the skill and were unable to see they roared loudly in anger, Valtar not paying them any mind immediately cut out the Material crystal from the head of the Shadow Tiger and swallowed it. He looked at the horde of shadow tigers, they all were frightened seeing their leader killed and the magnitude of the battle was beyond their level. Now having no one to lead them, they started running away immediately, but how could Valtar let so much good stuff go away just like that?

Valtar hurriedly ordered all the ghostbounds to split in 2 groups one going towards the gorilla horde which now was coming towards them to assist their leader and the Tiger horde which was running away. The order was simple, kill them all.

They all separated from the bodies of the 2 large beasts and did just as they were ordered. Now that the pests clinging to their bodies were both Shadow Beasts focused their attention on Valtar, both of them attacked him furiously. While they were indeed unable to see now, they had other senses which helped them detect the presence of Valtar.

The Shadow Gorilla smashed onto the ground with so much force that made the ground rumble as cracks spread through the ground and the Shadow Snake hissed loudly and spit out large amounts of viscous green liquid all over the area he was standing. One attack was aimed at making him lose balance, other was aiming to finish him. Their tactical understanding of facing a single enemy together was truly not bad to say the least.

Valtar already had the skill of the ’Dark crown’ active since earlier as such his control of Darkness had been quadrupled, with that and the Darkness manifestation, he covered his entire body with darkness-like armor then activated silent steps and barely moved away from the range of where the acid of the Shadow snake was falling like rain from the sky.

Noticing the human had dodged the attack of the Snake the Gorilla made a large jump intending to smash the human from above. However, because Valtar had encased his entire body in an armor of darkness his presence was much less noticeable, not to mention the 2 beasts were having difficulty battling without their eyes.

At this moment system prompted him with 2 short notifications,

[You have gained 25 unallocated stat points]

[You have acquired the skill ’Tiger speed’]

Unfortunately, he did not have time to check the details of the skill, because both of the beasts were attacking him constantly in sync, he had to give his full attention to dodging their attacks more and more.

Valtar’s all sensory type skills were already active and with a huge jump into the sky, he again used the skill ’Shadow Binding Howl’. Since this time both of the beasts were mentally vigilant against this skill, it could only bind them for 2 and a half seconds till they broke free.

But right in that 2 and a half seconds Valtar activated the skill he least used in all this time which was ’Blood Spears’. The place they were currently fighting in was littered with the corpses of the shadow wolves, their blood was grey but that did not make a difference to the skill. Blood was blood even if it was rainbow-colored blood. While he stood still, all the huge amounts of blood floated in mid-air, they formed more than 150 grey blood spears hovering in the sky, each 1 meter in length.

This just happened in 2.5 seconds, The Snake and The Gorilla sensed immediate danger, they could sense the things floating in the sky aiming at them. Valtar with a casual wave of his hand sent forward all the spears at the 2 beasts at full speed.

Roooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar........

Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeechhhh........

With a thunderous roar and a terrifying screech, both of them attacked furiously at the incoming blood spears. Even though the beasts were both tremendously powerful, it did not mean they remained unharmed by the attacks. A skill can only show power to the corresponding level of its user.

So the destructive power of the blood spears was off the charts compared to the pitiful effects of it back when Old Zhao had used it. Valtar himself did not remain idle as he manipulated the darkness that covered him like armor and he turned it into a large and long whip instantly.

Countless blood spears got stabbed into the skin of the 2 beasts but none of them pierced too deep. The problem with this skill was that to keep the skill active he needed to remain unmoving. Which he barely had the luxury to do currently.

Valtar narrowed his eyes, a dangerous glint flashed through his eyes as he thought, ’It’s time to finish this shit.’

With a large swing of his hands, he shot the whip at the legs of the gorilla which it was unable to evade, the whip made of darkness wrapped itself around both legs of the Gorilla, binding the feet together making it unable to move and almost lose balance.

The Shadow Snake was furious by now, the human who caused it so many injuries as well as the dumb gorilla who let such a stupid attack in and let itself be bound, then there was the stupid tiger who got itself killed without being able to even move a muscle.

The Shadow Snake bit into the dark whip with its jaws open baring its fangs. Yet it was a bad idea to do that from the start because the whip itself had a slight decay effect on anything it touched, the whip itself being made from the purest darkness, then there was the skill of the Dark crown relic which quadrupled all darkness control and lethality of Valtar for a certain period of time. For that reason inside of the snake’s mouth, it was actually decaying without the snake even realizing it.

Valtar with all his might pulled the whip towards him, causing the gorilla to lose balance and the snake realized something had happened inside of it as it began howling in pain. He dashed forward without wasting a single more second. He jumped high in the sky held his sword upward, and then he did a powerful vertical attack with his sword at the Shadow Gorilla who now lay on the ground for momentarily losing balance.

The Gorilla crossed both arms right in front of its chest area to not let the attack hit its heart. It was not just any attack but he turned the dark whip into a sword and since it had the decaying property as well as the force behind the sword attack. The gorilla’s upper arms were cleanly cut off as the beast howled in pain.

Valtar stepped forward and plunged the sword straight into the heart of the strong gorilla. In just one second the life of Shadow Gorilla was gone. Then his ’survival instinct’ skill kicked in as the snake spewed its venomous acid all over. Realizing that there was no way to dodge it, he instantly turned the sword into a dark blanket that covered him with a considerably large length. It was the only thing that he could do at that moment to protect himself. Because in the end, he was a human who did not have any inherent advantages compared to any other races there may be.

Splatter.....!!!!

The acid of the Snake splattered all over, but thankfully he was safe within the blanket of the darkness. He was furious, he knew the snake couldn’t use that attack immediately and it turned the blanket into a sword again and stabbed forward without even seeing anything.

The sword automatically got stabbed into the inside of the snake’s mouth, Its mouth was large enough to fit multiple humans at once, just as he thought, the snake had sensed that its enemy did not melt down into meat paste from its acid, having no other idea it simply intended to devour its small enemy. As such Valtar attacked at the right time and the sword was stabbed into its mouth but it was not over quite it.
