Chapter 52: Time To Clean Up Some Wolves

Dyona again seeing the human be so quiet and say nothing, shook her head. She said to him, "I truly did not expect this. To be honest, how you killed that Old Zhao was already a feat that impressed me greatly, and now even Hansel fell into your hands. He was someone who could even give me a headache."

Valtar sneered internally, ’If not for what I saw in that piece of memory, I would’ve believed this bitch entirely.’ On the outside, his expression remained indifferent as he looked at her genuinely surprised expression. Indeed anyone would be fooled by her acting. Now he began to have doubts about the things she revealed in their first conversation. Were those things true, or did she simply divert my attention to something else or perhaps simply give me a false impression that would subconsciously force me to think of her from a certain angle, something which she is likely not?

The Fae was not offended by his silence anymore, she continued speaking,

"She looked above and said, then there’s these things, truly what a surprise, it baffles me how you can use this mantra." a strange flint of suspicion flashed through her eyes.

She added, "In any case, let me tell you some things about us Fae. First, there are lesser Fae and High Fae, there are 20 lesser Fae and 10 High Fae in our area. I would advise you to not underestimate us because you will have to use every ounce of strength you can muster, and every trick up your sleeve. We are nothing like those Dark Elves you had faced."

Valtar was surprised by the sudden reveal of such crucial information as he thought to himself, ’So, those 5 Fae were actually lesser Fae, then how strong would each of the High Fae be?’

He could not help but ask the Queen, "Why are you telling me such a piece of important information? I am your enemy."

She gave an amused smile in response and said, "Did I not tell you before, we seek change, in this forever trapped forest we seek entertainment. Unlike the human and Dark Elves race or any other race. We Fae only exist of female members and we are born from a certain tree, almost like fruits. So, we do not fall in love, start a family to reproduce, and then give birth to children or take care of them. That cycle of life simply does not exist for us."

"While I did tell you that I have no wish to die, that’s only one way to look at the situation. A part of me also wishes for my little ones to be free from this eternal entrapment even if it means through death. Of course that is only if our enemy is worthy and capable enough" she stated in a somewhat sad voice.

Valtar looked deep into her eyes, The Fae Queen understood that the human in front of him seemed to be in deep thought about something, so she did not disturb him and remained silent to let him finish his thoughts. However, she did not expect that the human in front of her had an entirely opposite train of thought than what she would expect.

Hearing her stupid monologue Valtar almost made a disgusted expression, ’This damn bitch really knows how to play, heh. While her words may not be entirely false. She’s clearly hiding the fish with leaves here. Wait till I get my hands on you.’

He then nodded to Dyona and said, "In that case, thank you for such valuable information. Is there anything more you can tell me?"

Dyona put her hand on her chin, she looked back at the direction where Valtar was heading, the direction of the Western section of the Forest. She then proceeded to look back at him and said with a slightly serious expression, "Be careful of the Shadow stealer."

After that, she vanished without a trace.

Valtar frowned internally, ’Just those words don’t reveal much information. But it’s at least something.’

’Does the guy steal shadows of living beings or something similar? Thankfully I have the darkness concept, it should work quite well against shadow-type creatures or such abilities. Since Darkness is the nemesis of both shadow and Light.’

Since the Fae queen was gone, he did not linger there anymore. He jumped swiftly to a tree branch and began running through tree branches high in the sky using his dark step. His minions followed right behind as trees rustled and shook.

After disappearing in front of Valtar, the Fae Queen appeared in the throne chamber and elegantly sat down on her wooden throne in a majestic manner worthy of the powerful and deadliest being in the entire Hidden Forest.

She did not hide her presence and let the other Fae’s know that she had arrived. Immediately the 10 High Fae’s who were loudly discussing this and that with each other stood up from their seats sensing their queen’s presence. They respectfully bowed towards their queen with utmost sincerity including the lesser Fae’s.

Dyona waved her hand dismissively and said, "For the thousandth time, do not be so formal all the time."

Only after she waved her hand, that all the Fae straightened their backs and looked at their queen standing. They all looked at their queen with reverence and respect. Her melodious voice sounded in the entire hall like dripping honey, "So, what have you cute ones been talking about?"

Raelyn rolled her eyes and said, "It would be strange if you already did not know what we were discussing."

Dyona was not angry rather she said in a reprimanding voice, "Child how many times must I tell you that, I don’t do such things."

Thailyn interjected at this time not wanting to continue this unending drama of their queen,

"We simply discussed how we should confront the human."

Dyona blinked, her emerald eyes shone in surprise, and asked in a curious tone, "And how might that be?"

Thailyn almost wanted to vomit at her pitiful and unsuccessful acting but thankfully she did not say anything, "The lesser ones shall confront the possessed minions of the human, while us, the High ones shall confront the human one after another with a time limit."

"hehe, we will thoroughly make the human dance," she added with a devious tone.

Dyona also nodded in appreciation, "Very good, this way the weaker ones as well as you 10 can enjoy this to maximum."

She sighed and said, "Don’t worry girls you won’t be disappointed, the human is not bad. He’s quite strong for you little ones. As long as he survives the Shadow stealer, he should be a delight for you girls."

All the High Fae had their expressions changed at the name of that monster.

Shailyn said in a mocking tone seeing all their frowned expression, "You guys are thinking too much, the last time we faced that thing was hundreds of years ago, when we were barely proficient in our abilities. Even then it was not the fact that it was strong rather his abilities were very strange and unique, especially in that environment."

Raelyn said to her in the same mocking tone, "And what makes you think any of us can still kill that thing now? Especially in that place."

Just as Shailyn was about to say something in annoyance the Queen interjected, "Okay, okay, girls no need to argue, Even if the human dies that monster will be the one to come here, you can play with that then. There is no loss. Now just hurry up and decide in what order you girls will be facing the boy."

This time Thailyn said in a cheerful voice, "Hehe, we have already decided that and I will be the first one." Dyona gave her a chuckle and said, "So, that’s the reason why you’ve been yapping since earlier."

Thailyn only let out a sweet giggle in response and the 9 others had jealous looks on their faces for not being able to go first.

In the Western Lands of the Forest -

Valtar had reached the land of shadows, he could not help but think that this place was indeed similar to the elf’s area in some ways. Just like how the Darkness covered the entire area of the Elves like a huge dome, this place was covered entirely with shadows like a dome.

With the difference in element. This place was ruled by beasts, unlike the dark elves. Previously he had some problems seeing in this place but now he could see very clearly,

’Is it the effect of Darkvision’ he thought.

The first time coming here, he was literally killed by an unweakened beast in his first fight then he was chased by a pack leader of the shadow wolves and he would have died if not for her. Then he ironically killed her as well and........

He took a breath and said to himself, "And this time I’m here to slaughter all of the beasts in turn."

Saying that he dashed forward in a certain direction where the shadow wolf’s main den lay. "Time to clean up some wolves." He said in a murderous voice.
