This novel is seriously so good and full of everything I love: strong female lead, solid male lead, kids, kingdom building the whole package. Every arc keeps you on edge, like heart-pounding type of intense. I especially loved the second arc. It really hit different because you realize if she didn’t have the weapons and powers from her past life, she actually would've lost. The villains in that arc were that powerful. It really shows how crazy the outside world is beyond her usual turf.
And the way human emotions are portrayed? Wild. You literally watch characters shift from rage to peace, then straight back into hatred. It's super raw. I loved how unapologetically ruthless she was too. Like, nah, she’s not your soft-hearted, crying heroine. If you threaten her fam, she’ll end you. Simple.
So yeah, maybe I’m biased, but I eat this genre up and this one did it right.
