Chapter 93: Chapter 69 D-Class Energy Reaction [Four Updates | Request for First Subscription]_2

He landed silently, holding an improved personal version of the Demon-breaking Dagger, he swiftly sliced through the exoskeleton of one Blade Beast after another, his Spiritual Sense locking onto the position of the Crystal Core, manipulating his Spiritual Energy like a hook to fish out the cores.

Using toilet paper to wipe, he shook it twice, and pressed a Demon Suppression Talisman on.

In just over twenty seconds, Wang Jixuan finished the surgery to extract the Crystal Cores, opened his left hand to recall the Bone Penetration Nails, infused them with Spiritual Power, and stared down at these Mimic Blade Beasts.

"It’s better to burn the bodies, even if it wastes some Mana."

He spread his hand and threw three Green Talismans, his right hand drawing a flame character out of thin air with a sword finger gesture.

Strands of Qi were drawn out, the three talismans simultaneously sparked pale white flames which rapidly corroded the shells of the Blade Beasts. In just a couple of breaths, they turned into a roaring fire that completely engulfed the bodies of the Mimic Blade Beasts.

[True Fire Talisman: Demon Refining Secret Talisman].

These were high-level talismans that could only be made from Primordial Talisman Paper combined with un-deactivated Blade Beast Blood.

Wang Jixuan glanced at the corner a few times, waiting until the flames began to fade before turning to head towards the next battlefield locked by his Spiritual Sense.

"Try not to leave any traces."

With Spiritual Sense at his side, these Mimic Blade Beasts were much easier to kill than the ordinary Blade Beasts, and nowhere near as tough as the Mutated Blade Beast.

Wang Jixuan was actually somewhat unclear about how much his combat abilities had improved recently.

A breakthrough in cultivation, the forging of a new Magic Artifact, and upgraded power of his talismans—these boosts in combat strength were not quantifiable.

But now, he had a rough idea.

"With this gun, I should be able to face the Mutated Blade Beast in direct combat and not necessarily have to resort to Devil Skill."

This reassured Daoist Wang a great deal.

Moving swiftly through the camp, in just a few minutes, he had obtained over ten Crystal Cores and left behind more than ten piles of ash in various corners.

Middle-level Concentration seemed to be beckoning him.

The corners of Wang Jixuan’s mouth couldn’t help but lift, his movements becoming even more rapid.

He had always thought that Mimic Blade Beasts might be very troublesome—mainly because Uncle Tai and others kept emphasizing their ferocity.

But before his Spiritual Sense, their camouflage was utterly useless.

His Spiritual Sense was still locked onto a dozen or so Mimic Blade Beasts; the group that invaded the camp should be about thirty in number.

Wang Jixuan pondered slightly.

Of course, he wanted to continue joyfully harvesting Crystal Cores, but these Mimic Blade Beasts had started to get close to some soldiers’ resting areas, probably in search of Human Skin.

There must be a choice to make.

Wang Jixuan pressed on his helmet, making an angry tone and shouted urgently:

"Zheng Shiduo! Lots of Mimic Blade Beasts! Near Tower Three of the Electromagnetic Gun! They’re approaching the tents!"

A few seconds later.

Boom, boom, boom!

Several flares shot into the sky, and the camp, which had been dark due to the power consumption by the Electromagnetic Guns, instantly lit up again. Over a dozen Spiritual Ability Users who were patrolling and searching the camp rushed towards Tower Three, and one after another, Mimic Blade Beasts were swiftly discovered.

Daoist Wang secretly thought it was a pity... but military matters were a bit more important, and he too was enjoying the protection of the soldiers and the guns.

There had been two groups of Mimic Blade Beasts.

The first group was just probing, and after the Spiritual Ability Users took action, they were easily wiped out—about a dozen or so.

Then the second group of Mimic Blade Beasts perfectly avoided all Spiritual Ability Users.

Wang Jixuan had a hunch there might be a third group of Mimic Blade Beasts later. Based on his observations, the targets of the Mimic Blade Beasts should be those powerful, fast-shooting Electromagnetic Gun Towers.

Boom, boom!

Sounds of engagement also came from the direction of the Fortress.

There were similar small groups of Blade Beasts and Mimic Blade Beasts there.

"Such clever demon beasts."

Daoist Wang leaped forward with great speed, avoiding the trajectories of the Spiritual Ability Users, heading for two undetected Mimic Blade Beasts.

He had just arrived when a whooshing sound came from behind.

Zheng Shiduo, wearing steel wings, skimmed low over the air, howling as he passed, firing over a dozen explosive-headed arrows from his metallic wings.

Two Mimic Blade Beasts and a few empty metal huts were instantly engulfed in flames.

Wang Jixuan: ...

Was this guy deliberately getting in his way?

Wang Jixuan turned to leave, but Zheng Shiduo had already spotted him and bellowed, "Big brother, wait for me! I’ve got to protect you!"

Wang Jixuan paused, standing on the metal hut roof.

Zheng Shiduo fired a few more shots below, then drifted towards Wang Jixuan, gave two thumbs up, and exclaimed, "It still has to be you! We didn’t even spot these guys!"

"Is there something you need?"

"Sort of?" Zheng Shiduo pointed to the explosive coils around his neck, "My job is to protect you, let’s move to the direction of the Fortress! After this wave subsides! If anything happens to you, Lingtong might just eat me!"

"Thanks, but that won’t be necessary."

Wang Jixuan said:

"I didn’t bring out the remote control for this thing."

It was actually in his pocket.

Zheng Shiduo shrugged and spread his hands: "I know you must misunderstand me, but I am now a pure Military Spiritual Ability User. Honestly, if I were to betray you, I would have had plenty of chances on the front line, of course, I’d have been killed by now."

Wang Jixuan turned to leave but then remembered something and turned his head towards Zheng Shiduo.

He spoke softly, "Can you command these Spiritual Ability Users who have been transferred from the front line?"

"Uh huh," Zheng Shiduo’s skinny monkey-like face showed a bit of pride, "I am a squadron leader after all."

"There might be more Mimic Blade Beasts coming," Wang Jixuan said, "Assign a patrol area to me."

Zheng Shiduo blinked, "You’re so eager to fight?"

Wang Jixuan casually made an excuse: "I just want to make my own contribution to the war effort."
