Chapter 90: Childhood Story
Hearing Yan Lingling’s words, Yan Yuling looked at her calmly and said with ridicule, "Yan Lingling, you are so interesting. You know exactly why yet you still need to ask."
"After your mother snatched my mother’s husband and status and destroyed my family, you still have a face to ask?"
"You even changed your name just to make it sound like my name. You really went to great lengths to occupy the magpie’s nest."
She looked at Yan Lingling with pity and continued to rub salt into her wounds, "It’s a pity that even if you change your surname and name, you will still be a daughter who was brought by a mistress into my Yan family. You don’t even know who your father is."
"If you want to behave like a white lotus or a wealthy family’s fake daughter, you can do it as you please. But I will never forget how you and your mother tortured me and kicked me out of my own home," she added.
When she said this, there was no hatred in her eyes, only calmness. It was as if she was talking about another person’s affairs.
But in the eyes of others, she acted very tough and refused to bow down even if she was bullied or at a disadvantage. Because of this, many people sympathized with her.
No one likes a homewrecker, let alone a homewrecker who acts like the victim. But even though they didn’t like it, no one stood up for Yan Yuling, for fear of getting into trouble with the Lin family and the Yan family.
Yan Yuling took a deep breath, and a tear rolled down from the corner of her eye.
She wiped away her tears with the back of her hand and said, "Yan Lingling, you can take away everything from me. But I will never let you take away my man. Ah Xuan is mine!"
After saying that, she took her husband’s hand and the two of them walked to the second floor. As she climbed the stairs, the tears stopped like a button was pressed. Her troubled expression disappeared instantly, replaced by indifference.
When he walked to the bedroom, Feng Zhexuan was still in a daze after he heard his wife’s statement. It was the first time she had ever called his name so intimately, even asserted her sovereignty over him.
After a moment, he turned his head and looked at everyone present. He will remember everyone. Those who bully his wife can only wait for their businesses to go bankrupt!
Arriving at Yan Yuling’s bedroom, she opened the door and walked in. Looking at her room, she knew that Granny Zhang must clean it frequently.
She looked at her husband and said, "Husband, what are you doing standing there? Come in and close the door."
After hearing his wife’s words, Feng Zhexuan came back to his senses. He walked into the room and closed the door. From there, he could see the entire room. The room was smaller than his walk-in closet.
The room only had a single bed, an old desk under the window, two old wardrobes and a small bathroom. There are no personal items or photos in the room. There is a cold, distant feeling here, as if no one is welcome here.
"Wife, is this your room?" he asked.
Yan Yuling sat on the bed, nodded and said, "I have been living in this room since my father married Wen Jiali."
Feng Zhexuan heard the meaning of her words and asked again, "What about your previous bedroom?"
"Oh, it’s taken by Yan Lingling. My father said that she is my older sister, so I should give her my room because the room is bigger. This room was chosen by Wen Jiali. Although it’s not big, the view is nice," Yan Yuling said nonchalantly.
She walked to the window, opened the curtains, and opened the window. As soon as she opened the window, a breeze blew into the room, bringing the fragrance of flowers from the garden below.
Yan Yuling pulled out a chair and sat down, saying, "When I was a child, I used to sit here and look out the window. I wonder what my life would be like if my mother was still alive."
"Do you miss your mother?" Feng Zhexuan asked.
Yan Yuling shook her head and said, "I don’t know. My mother passed away when I was five years old, and I don’t have any memory of being under the age of six."
Hearing this, Feng Zhexuan’s eyes flickered for a moment, and then returned to normal. He looked at his wife’s back and asked, "What happened?"
After thinking for a while, Yan Yuling said, "I don’t remember. The earliest thing I remember is when I woke up in the hospital. I had no memory at all before that. My father showed me my family photos to make me believe that he was my father."
"He told me that I had a high fever for almost two weeks. Maybe it was because of the fever that I lost my memory," she added.
Feng Zhexuan wanted to know more about her, but seeing his wife’s calm eyes, he hesitated and said nothing.
After telling her husband about her memory loss, Yan Yuling felt much more relaxed than before. It was as if the stone weighing on her chest was finally lifted and she could breathe.
Apart from her father and Granny Zhang, only Feng Zhexuan knew that she had lost her memory when she was a child.
After a while, she let out a long sigh, stood up, and said, "Husband, shall we go down now?"
Looking at his wife’s smiling face, Feng Zhexuan felt a twinge of pain in his heart. He held out his hand and said, "Let’s go."
Yan Yuling took her husband’s hand, locked the room, and attended the dinner. She had to wait until the party was over before she could go to her father’s study room to get her household registration book.
