When he was done, Guan Wufeng climbed onto the bed. He lay next to Xing Xiayan and pulled her into his arms.

Feeling her body trembling and her eyelashes wet with tears, he patted her back gently and whispered, "Xiayan, I’m here, don’t be afraid. Have a good sleep, my baby. I will protect you."

Then, he hummed softly, lulling her into a dreamless sleep. He always did this whenever she had nightmares since they were children. Hearing her long and even breathing, he finally breathed a sigh of relief, slowly closed his eyes and took a nap.

As the sun sets and the sky darkens, the roads are crowded with people going out to enjoy the nightlife.

In the Yan family, Yan Yunci was eating fruit and watching TV when she saw Chen Yuhan coming down from the second floor. Seeing him in casual clothes, her eyes lit up and she asked, " Yuhan, do you want to go out on a date?"

After hearing her words, Chen Yuhan walked up to her and said, "I’m going out to meet friends. Do you want to go with me?"

Thinking of Chen Yuhan’s friends’ hobbies, Yan Yunci lost interest and said, "No, you can go on your own."

He knew she didn’t like socializing, so he didn’t force her to go and said, "Okay. Don’t skip dinner. I will be back late tonight. Don’t wait for me."

Hearing that he will be back late, Yan Yunci asked again with a frown, "Are you going to the nightclub?"

Her grandfather didn’t like them going to nightclubs and partying all night long. It would be troublesome if her grandfather knew that he went to that place.

Looking at her worried eyes, he smiled and said, "I’m going to eat. My friend opened a new restaurant and invited me to taste the food. I would be coming home late because we would be chatting and playing cards."

Hearing her voice, he raised his head and was stunned by what he saw. Unlike before, Yan Yunci no longer wears thick nerdy glasses and uses contact lenses. Her clothes are no longer a fluffy loli skirt with a ponytail hairstyle.

Now, her clothes are stylish and accentuate her curvy figure, giving her a charming yet innocent look. Her brown hair was loosely braided and she wore light makeup. Seeing her dressed up so beautifully, he had the urge to hide her from others.

When Yan Yunci stood in front of him, she saw him looking at her blankly. She waved her hands in front of his eyes and asked, "Yuhan, what are you thinking about? Let’s go, otherwise the food will be gone."

Hearing her words, he smiled instantly. His girl is still young and doesn’t understand love yet. He patted her head gently and said, "Let’s go."
