Little Wife's Diary: My Husband is My Boss! -
Chapter 241: Farewell
Chapter 241: Farewell
Yan Yuling looked at her husband briefly, then turned back to Xiao Wu and asked, "Xiao Wu, where will you be staying?"
"I will live with the other staff, Madam. It will make it easier to ensure your safety if I stay close to you," Xiao Wu said.
Yan Yuling nodded at her words and said, "Alright. Go have a meal now. My husband’s bodyguards are here, so take your time."
Xiao Wu shook her head and said, "Thank you, Madam. I have already eaten."
Yan Yuling didn’t insist when she heard this and went into the VIP ward.
With the urgency of Jin Zhiwen’s heart surgery, Feng Zhexuan had already contacted friends to help find a donor. He had also reached out to a renowned surgeon, who had agreed to perform the procedure.
While they focused on Jin Zhiwen’s health, Xing Xiayan and Guan Wufeng were waiting in an airport VIP lounge, preparing for an overseas vacation since Jin Rongsan was occupied and unable to check on her condition.
While Guan Wufeng stepped out to take a call, Xing Xiayan drifted into thought. Since she had awoken in the Feng family villa, old memories had slowly begun to resurface.
As her memories returned, Xing Xiayan realized that the one who appeared the most often in her memories was Guan Wufeng. He was indeed someone very important to her, but their relationship was too complex to be defined simply as boyfriend and girlfriend.
Another figure who frequently appeared in her memories was Feng Zhexuan. Each time she recalled him, she felt a mix of hatred and love. She reflected deeply on the so-called love she once had for him and ultimately concluded that those feelings were false. The only genuine emotion she held for him was hatred.
She despised him for causing her mother’s death and her brother’s disappearance. He was also the reason her friend, Xiao Ling’er, had been apprehended by the police back then.
She remembered her brother’s words before she was taken away, urging her to never forget their family’s grievances and to avenge their parents. Though she wanted to honor his wishes, she wasn’t prepared to lose everything for the sake of revenge.
When Guan Wufeng returned, he found his girlfriend staring at her hot chocolate, lost in thought. Sitting across from her, he took her hand and asked, "Yanyan, what are you thinking about? Is something troubling you?"
His voice snapped Xing Xiayan back to reality. She looked at him and asked, "Brother Wufeng, can we... not come back once we go abroad?"
Guan Wufeng was taken aback by her words and asked, "Are you really willing to leave everything here and start over?"
Xing Xiayan lowered her head for a moment before she said, "Brother Wufeng, I don’t want to stay here anymore. I want to change my name and start fresh. If you can’t come with me, I won’t force you. I can manage on my own."
Guan Wufeng sensed a shift in her, something different from when she had first awakened. Tightening his grip on her hand, he asked, "Yanyan, did you remember everything?"
Looking up at him, Xing Xiayan nodded and said softly, "I’m sorry for hurting you for so many years."
Guan Wufeng’s eyes widened in shock. He stood and embraced her tightly, his voice hoarse as he whispered, "Yanyan, I thought I’d lost you forever. Thank you... thank you for remembering me."
Feeling his hands tremble, Xing Xiayan nestled into his embrace, returning his hug as she murmured, "Brother Wufeng, I’m sorry for making you worry and for all the pain I caused. I never wanted to hurt you... I’m truly sorry."
He pressed a kiss to the top of her head and said with joy clear in his voice, "As long as you are with me, I don’t mind any of it. I would sacrifice anything for you, Yanyan. Let’s leave the past behind and start over together, okay?"
Hearing this, she went silent for a moment before she nodded, "Okay."
Guan Wufeng smiled brighter when he heard her agreement and added, "Yanyan, let’s go to Georgia. We can settle there or even travel the world together after we are married."
Wanting to have nothing to do with everything in this place, Xing Xiayan agreed readily, "Brother Wufeng, I will listen to you."
Though she felt a pang of guilt toward her brother, she knew life was too short to be consumed by hatred. She had found someone she truly loved and no longer wanted to be controlled by vengeance.
She longed to build a new life and family with Guan Wufeng and she was willing to pay the price, even if it’s her identity, wealth, and fame.
An hour later, they boarded a plane to Beijing. After landing, Guan Wufeng bought one-way tickets to Georgia for both of them. Without needing a visa, the process was swift. As the sun dipped below the horizon, they finally left their homeland behind, flying toward their unknown, yet hopeful future.
Sitting by the window on the plane, Xing Xiayan looked out at the fading landscape and whispered, "Farewell, Brother. I hope you will get what you are wishing for and be free from your hatred."
A few days passed, and Jin Zhiwen’s condition stabilized. Although he still needed to stay in the hospital, he was no longer as pale as before. At this moment, he was reading documents sent by his secretary on his bed.
When the door opened, Yan Yuling entered the ward while Xiao Wu waited outside. Seeing her father still working despite his poor health, she sighed and walked over.
Hearing footsteps, Jin Zhiwen looked up from the document and smiled when he saw his daughter. Even though he was still grieving over the news of Mo Wenxing’s death, he found new hope in his daughter. He would stay strong and live longer to be with her.
"Yuling, you are here," he said with a smile.
Placing the insulated lunch boxes on the bedside table, Yan Yuling sat on the chair and asked, "How are you feeling?"
