’Perhaps I should go meet him myself,’ Inner Elder Lu thought as she leaned back, watching as multiple spiritual cranes flew overhead. ’I would need to do so anyway to see if he’s suitable to oversee more than a single Medicine Valley.’

It’s decided.

Inner Elder Lu would mark a date and go see what all the fuss over this small, unknown Outer Disciple was about!

She was actually anticipating it a little...

A man of above-average appearance was practicing a profound sequence of sword moves behind a waterfall when he suddenly heard a tree branch crack off to the side. His piercing eyes immediately darted over, followed by the unleashment of his Sword Intent as he breached a distance of dozens of meters in the blink of an eye.

The tip of his blade was now pressed up against the throat of a man wearing Elite Disciple robes just like him. However, even knowing that, the fierce sword-wielding man only emitted more killing intent.

"W-Wait, Senior Brother Li Tianyao!" said the other Elite Disciple after falling to his bum very unceremoniously. "I’ve come bearing news that’ll certainly interest you!"

"Speak, Chen Mo," Li Tianyao commanded, still not retracting his blade from Chen Mo’s throat, letting blood draw ever so slightly. "If I figure out that you’ve interrupted my sword training for nothing, then I’ll—"

"It’s about Big Sis Hua!" Chen Mo referred to Hua Ling in such a way that solidified her marriage with his Senior Brother. "Or more specifically, the man that has been daring enough to pollute the air around her with his presence...!"

Li Tianyao’s eyes dangerously thinned, and he finally put his blade back into its sheath. "Do tell."

Feeling a scary aura permeate off of his Senior Brother, Chen Mo shuddered. But he nonetheless got around to explaining the gist of the situation.

"So that little bastard didn’t accept the Inner Sect Promotion," Chen Mo clicked his tongue, his annoyance growing by the second. "If he never leaves Yu Quixan’s side, then I’ll never be able to personally deal with him."

The whole reason he didn’t act the first moment he caught wind of Zar’s irritating existence was precisely because of Yu Quixan.

When he first saw the Valley Master of Azure Medicine Valley, Chen Mo was naturally enamored. And he considered pursuing the stunning woman with an apparent cultivation of the Core Formation Realm.

Not long after that incident, Li Tianyao learned that Yu Quixan was, in actuality, the 1st Royal Princess of the Quixan Dynasty in disguise. This made him yearn for her more, but with the large disparity in cultivation, he knew that was little more than a pipe dream...

"Don’t worry, Senior Brother," Chen Mo consoled. "I’m sure we can find other ways to soothe you after experiencing a Qi Deviation that came about because of your failure to break through the Deity Transformation Real— Oops..."

An oppressive aura pressed down on Chen Mo, flattening him into the earth. He wasn’t dead, but he’d definitely be feeling that one in the morning.

"Speak of that topic again and I’ll really kill you," Li Tianyao said coldly. "It doesn’t matter if you’re in the Top 20 of this Elite Sect. There are thousands just like you scattered around the Blazing Sun Sect, but there’s only one Rising Steele Family. I could make you permanently disappear from all records with a snap of my fingers."

"Y-Yes, of course, my apologies, Senior Brother," Chen Mo’s weak voice responded from within a human-sized imprint in the ground. "I’ll watch my mouth more carefully from now on..."

"Good," said Li Tianyao as he released the spiritual pressure holding Chen Mo down. "Go and instruct the Inner Disciples under you to sneak into the Inner Sect and capture that brat. If he resists, then have him killed. But I want him at my doorstep by the start of the next month. Make sure they can’t be traced back to me either."

"Understood, Senior Brother," Chen Mo replied with an ashen face as he rose from his earthly imprint, squinting one of his eyes because of the residual pain. "I have several Top-rank Inner Disciples of multiple Branches under me. There’s no way they’ll fail this mission you have given to me."

"What are you still doing here then?" Li Tianyao scowled while walking back toward his waterfall training spot. "Go and get it done."

"Y-Yes, sir!"

With that, Elite Disciple Chen Mo left the waterfall in a gust of wind. Li Tianyao, on the other hand, brandished his sword and stared down a mountain in the distance with a razor-sharp glow in his eyes.

Then he swung down.

SHA!

The mountain was cleanly split in two!

"Just wait until I get my hands on you, little brat," Li Tianyao seethed, part of his anger stemming from his failure to pass the 7th and final of the Lightning Bolts in his Tribulations. "I’ll show you a whole new world of pain. One that will make you regret ever touching what is mine!"

As a couple of high-standing figures of the Blazing Sun Sect set their eyes on Zar, the man in question was sitting within a flying chariot thousands of miles outside the Sect. Opposite him was his effortlessly beautiful Master.

Xue Qing, on the other hand, was not here, for she was told not to come.

Surprisingly, she agreed to this, but only under the condition that Zar took her out with him next time he went on a stroll around one of the Mortal Cities in the Rising Dawn Province. He had no choice but to accept the terms if he wanted to leave the Sect before sundown.

Now, he was alone with his Master inside a flying Magic Artifact of the Peak-Black Grade—which was a very lavish item for someone with apparent cultivation only of the Nascent Soul Realm.
