Chapter 63: Senior Brother Meng...

Chapter 63: Senior Brother Meng...

"Oh, Senior Brother Meng, are you not going to tell us about any more of your adventures as a highly respected Inner Sect Disciple?"

"Senior Brother Meng, look—I made these for you as thanks for blessing me with that romantical story of two Hunters meeting in the woods~ I-I hope you like them; I baked them myself..."

"How about we go watch the Horse Frog Race happening in the Outer Sect’s Main Territory today, Senior Brother Meng~? I even hear top Horse Frog Riders will be participating in the race~"

"Haha, you ladies are too much!" Meng laughed contemptuously, accepting every gift coming his way. "I’ll see if I have any open spaces in my schedule to further bless you breathtaking flowers with a joyride with the hunk of man-meat that is I—"

"Senior Brother Meng, what are you doing in my Medicine Valley again? And with my In-Name Disciples no less??"

Freezing up, Meng slowly turned his head toward the shadowy-faced Zar, realizing right away that he screwed up big this time.

"J-Junior Brother, I... I assumed you’d still be in seclusion like always today, so I—"

"So you what?" Zar remarked, flipping his icy gaze between all his Disciples. "You decided to flounder over and deceive my Disciples with your fabricated fairytales to get into their skirts?"

The infatuation of the Female Disciples immediately warped into disgust, as they knew not their Master to be a liar. He was extremely handsome, and indifferent to all their advances, but he was not a liar.

"J-Junior Brother, surely you jest..." Meng was on the verge of tears, his suave facade all but a distant memory.

He folded almost instantly...

"No, you’re right! I did do everything you claimed—"

But before he could confess, Zar directed his focus to his Female Disciples, causing them to involuntarily shiver.

"As for you girls," he began with a stern tone, "how many times have I told you all not to play with your Senior Uncle’s heart like that? He doesn’t have any riches or fame anyway, so just give it up. Next time I see something like this, I’ll be reducing your monthly Spirit Stone incomes by half."

"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"

"A-Anything but that, Master!"

"U... Uncle...?" Meng’s mind went into the Shadow Realm, zoning out the pleas of the women he actually believed to be into him.

"Get lost," Zar scowled.

The Female Disciples were oddly turned on by his husky voice and the way he said it, but that didn’t mean they didn’t still fear him. They ran for the hills without hesitation, leaving Zar alone with the distraught Meng.

Sighing at the pitiful state of his Senior Brother, Zar went on to apologize and comfort him with false praise.

But even that was enough to put Meng on Cloud Nine, as he loved praise more than anything else! No matter if it was fake or not...

"Haha! Stop it, Senior Brother, no need to continue articulating my awesomeness! But ahem, if you’d like to keep on, then who am I to stop you?"

"...."

’This Senior Brother of mine might actually be the death of me one of these days...’

Escaping the conversation as soon as humanly possible, Zar pointed Meng toward a fancy new brothel that just opened up in one of the nearby City Prefectures. After which, he resumed his original task of going to meet his Master at her home in Azure Medicine Valley.

"You’ve come?" sounded the melodious voice of a mystically stunning woman sipping spiritual tea under her gazebo.

"I wouldn’t miss it for the world, Master," replied Zar, respectfully bowing with an arm placed over his chest.

"And as glib-tongued as ever, I see," Valley Master Yu said with a warm smile that could brighten up New York City. "But that’s one of the things I like most about you..."

"What was that, Master?" asked Zar, feigning ignorance.

"Oh, it’s nothing, my favorite Disciple," Valley Master Yu answered with a helpless smile, finding her whimsicalness getting worse as of late.

Zar felt a little bad for his Master, but there was no helping it. Cultivation trumped all, and until he became invincible, what use would romance be?

If it ever came down to it and his life was seriously put on the line, he’d not be the only one he had to worry about.

And more than anything else in the world, that was what terrified him the most...

Furthermore, there was the matter of the difference in Lifespan—

"Oh, Senior Immortal, is that you?"

Xue Qing’s sarcastic voice carried through the air, talking Zar out of his thoughts. A flawlessly carved face—nothing like how she looked before—then entered his peripheral vision. She was standing outside the entrance to the Courtyard, making an expression that did its best to hold back her irritation, all while pretending to have ’coincidentally’ passed by at the exact time Zar arrived.

Obviously, this woman was none other than Prime Xue Qing, the most troublesome of the two Xue Qings!

’The softer and meeker version of her is bette—’

’Don’t you dare finish that sentence,’ Prime Xue Qing threatened with her eyes, veins popping up all over her head. ’I’ll chop your little buddy off and burn it to cinders if you do.’

Zar’s smile turned crooked. He could hear her voice inside his head, but he knew that she didn’t possess the ability to read his mind.

She was just freakishly proficient at reading his thoughts...

As she called it, he was like an ’open book.’

"Hmm?"

Valley Master Yu looked between the two of them, seemingly figuring out that they were having a secret conversation. This forced a small pout on her unblemished face, urging her to cross her arms under her breasts and turn her head the other way.

Zar noticed this and was immediately overcome with exasperation.

’Women... Why am I so unlucky with them...?’

Or was he lucky?

Hard to say for certain which was more true.

"So where are you two off to at this time of the year?" Prime Xue Qing asked in a teasing tone. "Don’t tell me you both became an item or something?? Master and Disciple, there’s no way!"
