Finishing up the last of the choco cookies, completely unaware of the struggles of Zar’s Genuine Primordial Soul, Yu Yu revealed a disappointed frown. She hurriedly expanded her horrifyingly evolved Divine Sense, searching for any more that she may have missed.

But in the end, none could be found.

She pouted more than once but ultimately got around to asking her quiet guest, "By the way, those shadowy creatures you have in the Lower Expanse are weird... When did you find the time to practice an odd ability like that, Old Man Gu?"

"!??"

’She even knows about my Shadow Beasts?? But how is she so certain that they’re related to me???’

It was only after this nonchalant question from Yu Yu that Zar realized how utterly monstrous she truly was.

Past that lazy, silly exterior was an unparalleled genius who had been walking the earth for thousands of years...

"You see," Zar began with a composed tone. "I got bored."

Yu Yu stared him down, but wound up nodding as if everything made sense now. "Boredom makes us do some crazy things, yep."

*Growl—!*

What sounded like the low rumbling of a monster’s roar came from Yu Yu’s stomach. She looked down and showed a bashful expression.

"Mhmm... I want some more cookies..." she murmured, flashing pleading eyes in Zar’s direction. "Old Man Gu... Do you have any—"

"Unfortunately, I don’t."

Yu Yu’s ears drooped as she made a face that would have anyone feeling the nagging urge to stretch out her cheeks.

"You can go then," she moped while drawing circles on the table with her fingers. "But make sure to come back another time. And bring some of the best, most delicious sweets from the world outside when you do!"

"Can’t you get them yourself?" Zar asked.

Yu Yu shook her head. "For reasons I can’t speak of, I’m not allowed to leave the Sect Grounds. You should know part of the truth already, right? You were there when Elder Sister briefly explained it, after all."

Zar paused before rising from his chair, saying, "Ah, yes... ’That’ reasoning. Of course I’m aware! And if you’ll excuse me, I must be going now, haha."

"Hurm?"

Yu Yu watched him leave, making a cute expression as she wondered why Old Man Gu felt so off today. He wasn’t talking the way he usually did whenever he left his long seclusion sessions.

On the other hand, they both covered their faces in a shadowy substance at all times, so they must be the same person!

"Mhmm, reasonable enough for me. Now time to sleep~"

Yu Yu got up, stretching her arms like a lazy cat. Then she proceeded to enter her cozy, fantastical home. In her dozing-off mind, she was already imagining all the tasty snacks that ’Old Man Gu’ was going to bring back for her.

Meanwhile, Zar raced out of the Higher Expanse, not wishing to stay there a moment longer.

’I thought I had become strong, but every time I think that, someone far stronger comes along and makes me rethink my life decisions...’

While sighing in mid-flight, Zar flew toward the distant Azure Medicine Valley. His Shadow Beasts were exterminating the last of the Demonic Faction stragglers, so it was time to reunite Primordial Soul and Main Body.

After what felt like a long period of time, the events that led up to the 2nd Bombing Day and the Demonic Faction Invasion came to a grand conclusion...

Many in the Sect would go on to tell stories of a man akin to a fallen immortal saving the Sect from certain doom with the assistance of a shadowy Army of the Undead. The lads revered him and his Martial prowess, whereas the lasses fawned over his presence and handsome appearance.

Some days later, the Grand Elders and various other high-ranking members of the Blazing Sun Sect returned to home base. They brought with them battle scars and casualties, only to learn of the brazen actions of the 1st-rate Demonic Sects in the surrounding Regions.

Naturally, they were infuriated.

And they planned to siege all of the Demonic Sects that raided them!

However, that was when they were told by numerous eye-witnesses that an alleged ’Fallen Immortal’ and his Army of the Undead not only massacred the invading forces, they also made counterattacks against the Demonic Sects themselves.

Rivers of blood flowed for countless kilometers all over this part of the Fire Kingdom.

Yet the retelling of these unbelievable feats only further confused the higher executives of the Blazing Sun Sect...

Who was this unknown Fallen Immortal?? And why had he saved their Sect from certain doom???

There were so many unanswered questions, but so as to not worry the common Disciples and Elders, the higher-executives corroborated the story. They admitted to the ’Fallen Immortal’ being some sort of Secret Protector of the Sect, and did so with infallible poker faces.

No way in hell were they going to admit that the one they actually tasked with the job of protecting the Sect was a lazy good-for-nothing bum that rarely got out of bed!

A group of Grand Elders, led by one Supreme Elder, found themselves at the doorstep of the lazy bum in question. Coincidentally, of the group, there was one figure of high renown who Zar would be very interested in meeting.

Gu Loong gave her a look that said, ’Have you been sleeping so much that you can no longer distinguish between dreams and reality??’

But in spite of that, he still knew how to keep his mouth shut in the presence of someone superior to himself.

"Hurm..." Yu Yu’s thinly drawn brows drew close together as she deeply pondered, though came out looking like a frustrated red panda. "Oh... So that’s what it is!"

She was lied to!

That mean fake Old Man Gu actually lied to her!

And after she shared her cookies with him and everything?? How rude!
