Chapter 59 - 500,000+ Years of Lifespan!?
Chapter 59: 500,000+ Years of Lifespan!?
*Ding!*
[You slayed a 9th Layer Origin Infant Realm Demon King, from which you seized 1,380 years of Lifespan!]
"Hmm?"
Taking Zar’s attention away from the system pop-up was the sudden appearance of a lethargic woman making a tired expression. Even so, her beauty was undeniable, as her atypical white hair and cloudy white eyes magnified her beauty to a level beyond just exotic.
"You are..." Yu Yu’s face scrunched up in deep thought as she squinted at Zar. "Old Man Gu...?"
"???"
’Who the hell is Old Man Gu??’ Zar questioned internally. ’And more importantly, who the hell is this woman???’
[Yu Yu (5th Layer Limbo) 3,207/38,550/505,000]
Limbo Realm!?
So young!
And what sort of crazy Maximum Lifespan was that!?
It went far beyond what Xue Qing’s was, and she was certainly a Peerless Expert prior to her death!
Was this what a Daughter of Providence looked like!??
"Hurm... Yep, you must be Old Man Gu," Yu Yu nodded repeatedly with an adorably drowsy expression. "But what are you doing here? Were you not supposed to be assisting the King on the Eastern Frontier against the Earth Nation?"
Zar felt an extreme sense of danger emanating off of the smoking hot, loose-clothed, listless woman before him.
But as if to douse him in a tub of ice water, Yu Yu’s snowy black-colored brows relaxed, and she asked, "Hmm... You wanna laze around with me? You’re done here, are you not...?"
"Huh?" Zar started, though calmed down after comprehending what she said. "I guess so..."
"So then you’ll laze around with me?" Yu Yu asked while yawning like a sleepy red panda, causing her larger-than-average bosom to jiggle.
’Do I really have a choice here??’ Zar thought in exasperation, nodding in response to her question.
"Mhmm," Yu Yu gave barely any reaction, but still opened up a crack in the Higher Expanse Barrier so as to let him in. "Come on, Old Man Gu, I have chocolate cookies left."
"Okay—"
"But they’re mine," Yu Yu said seriously, throwing Zar a threatening glare. "You can have the nasty raisin ones."
’This girl...’
Zar could feel the headache coming on, but with no other option available to him, he accompanied the listless woman into the Higher Expanse.
Upon entering through the barrier, an entirely new world was opened up to him. Picturesque landscapes unraveled as far as the eye could see—elegant cranes, swooping dragons, and floating islands larger than small planets broadened his horizons irrevocably.
"Whatcha standing around for, Old Man Gu?" asked Yu Yu as she turned back behind her, eyeing him with large amounts of confusion swirling inside her murky white eyes.
Those same eyes narrowed when she thought of something.
Zar prepared himself for an abrupt attack, but contrary to his expectations, she non-negotiably declared, "You can think about them all you want, but you won’t be getting any of my choco cookies. Go find your own."
Without lingering any further, she disappeared into a cloud of mist, leaving Zar in a state of profound dumbfoundment.
He wasn’t even sure which Realm Limbo was, but if he did, he knew without a doubt that this wasn’t the type of person he expected to be in such a high Realm...
Sighing, Zar helplessly followed Yu Yu into the mist.
A small waterfall paradise presented itself to him.
A sakura-blossom tree sat above a moderately sized waterfall pouring down spiritual-energy-filled water of a very high quality. Set beside the base of this shimmering waterfall was a two-story house that looked like it came straight out of a fairytale, what with the fantastical decorations and cozy feel it had.
"Want some tea to go along with your cookies?" Yu Yu asked from a wooden table placed outside her home. "You only get the ucky green tea though. I don’t like that one."
"Haha..." Zar awkwardly laughed, unsure of how he was even supposed to act when mistaken for some Old Man Gu that he knew nothing about.
However, in spite of all that, he walked up to the table and sat himself on a chair opposite the lazy chipmunk-like girl trying to decide between sleeping and stuffing another cookie in her mouth.
"Here, these are yours," she said as she pushed a teacup and handful of raisin cookies his way. "I gave you half a choco cookie out of pity."
As soon as those words left her lips, she saw the half a choco cookie and started to drool.
She shook her head, reprimanding herself.
But time and time again, she stole glances at the half a choco cookie, and each and every time, she salivated.
Eventually.
"Do you want this—"
"Yes!" Yu Yu replied excitedly while snatching it away from his side of the table, before stuffing it in her face-hole without a shred of hesitation.
"Danks chu," she said through chews. Though she wasn’t able to hear his response due to the euphoria streaming through her, contorting her face in all these cute, funny ways.
’How did I even end up in this situation...?’
Distracting himself from that subject, Zar’s eyes fell on his teacup. In it was a cloudy substance that looked a whole lot like...
’No, it’s definitely something else,’ he thought. ’It’s infused with crazy amounts of Spiritual Energy. It almost gives the same feeling that the spring water from that waterfall does, so perhaps it’s a concoction mixed with that and something else of a high rank.’
Taking a sip of it out of curiosity, Zar almost immediately regretted his decision, for the Spiritual Energy contained inside that liquid just about drowned him!
A breakthrough was coming!
’Damn! I expected the tea to have some effect on my Cultivation base, but never would I have thought I’d be flooded by Spiritual Energy like this!’
Realizing that Yu Yu was about to notice something wrong, Zar pushed back his breakthrough as much as humanly possible. Spiritual Energy was still bombarding his insides, begging for sweet release, but just like his breakthrough, it too was buried deep within him.
Beads of sweat began to build up in larger quantities on his forehead. And at any moment, it felt like he would burst like an overfilled balloon.
But with his unshakable resolve, he held on...
Just barely...
