Lifespan Extraction: I Ascend As The Immortal Beast Tamer -
Chapter 33 - 2nd Layer Deity Transformation Realm, Genuine Primordial Soul
Chapter 33: 2nd Layer Deity Transformation Realm, Genuine Primordial Soul
Suddenly!
WAOOOOM—!!!
"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"
The flow of energy suddenly skyrocketed because of the assimilation of higher forms of Sword Intent, reaching levels of power that even Valley Master Yu couldn’t begin to fathom!
"What sort of monstrous being is making a move...?" everyone questioned at once.
Then a thought unisonly formed in their bewildered minds:
’Void Crossing!’
Was it possible that a Void Crossing powerhouse was messing with them!?
And if so, was this powerhouse with them... or against them...?
Valley Master Yu’s eyes narrowed as she sent out her Divine Sense. Without alerting the Inner Elders and Inner Disciples, she scanned everything for hundreds of miles.
However, she found no sign of a Void Crossing Realm Expert’s aura...
"None of this makes any sense," she lamented, her forehead creasing. "How can a source of power exceeding the Deity Transformation Realm appear, but do so without even the slightest sign of a Void Crossing Realm Expert being in the area?? Is whoever’s doing this simply too powerful for me to ascertain their existence??? Or is it something else...?"
The more Valley Master Yu thought about it, the more questions arose.
In the end, one last massive influx of Natural Spiritual Energy drained into the nothingness, all without Valley Master Yu or anyone else figuring out what was moving the energy. After a few more minutes, they sighed in resignation before leaving or returning to what they were doing.
A good portion of them would be reporting this occurrence higher up, and there was sure to be more trouble in the coming days. But with the cheat that was the Lifespan Barrier, Zar wasn’t too worried.
Inside his small house, a satisfied grin was revealed. Along with it was stinging pain that struck him from all sides, invading every crevice of his existence.
Agonizing!
So painful—!!
ARGHHHHhhh—!!!!
It took a few hours, but eventually the excruciating pain stopped assaulting Zar. Drenched in his own sweat and appearing more corpse than human, he haggardly asked the System what was happening to him.
It responded with:
[After the Nascent Soul Realm, every minor and major breakthrough begins to transcend the limits of just mere absorption cultivation. The body and soul begin to transform, and for most, this process is gradual, with the pain negligible. But you are not ’most.’]
[With the Lifespan Extraction System, you carry the burden of progressing both yourself and your Shadow Beasts. They cannot feel pain, so you must feel their pain for them.]
[No one ever said your journey would be an easy one...]
[To be exceptional, you must first be resilient. And to be resilient is to have a Will so robust that no amount of Character Development can shake your Martial Heart...]
"C-Character Development...?" Zar asked through bated breath. "Is that a term used to describe suffering?"
[Yes. To build character is to progress, and how can one progress without first experiencing pain?]
[Dear Host, if you’d like to back out now, then you have a 50-50 chance of surviving the detachment of the System. There’s even a chance that you’ll retain everything the System helped you achieve—"
"No."
Instant rejection!
Although the pain he just experienced had him making sounds that—if not for the Lifespan Barrier—would’ve alerted the whole Sect, Zar refused. He refused to revert to the disdained trash that he once was.
The Infinite Beast Evolution System was what molded him. It was what made him who he was today.
No way was he going to turn his back on it now!
Not because of pain!
Not for anything!!
The System’s digital emoticon revealed a small smile, but before Zar noticed it, a different System screen appeared before him.
BLING!

Seeing his Lifespan was akin to a jumpscare for Zar, as he was this close to accidentally unaliving himself. It scared him so badly that he instinctively deactivated the Lifespan Barrier, and though his Ultimate Heavenly Transfiguration Technique was struggling to keep up, it still managed to conceal his immense presence.
This struggle reminded him of his Martial Techniques. He made a mental note to upgrade them as high as he could get them whenever he had the Lifespan necessary.
"With all of that out of the way, I think I’ll cultivate for a while, then head out and pluck Spiritual Plants like any other day," said Zar as he calmly closed his eyes, seemingly in his own little world, hiding away from the chaotic discussions outside.
With the fall of the first snow, Winter came around.
Three months had gone by since Zar broke through the Deity Transformation Realm. And on this day, after the heat from his fiasco calmed down, he decided to take his Shadow Beasts out from his Shadow. He then used the newly evolved Peak-Earth Rank ’Seven-Gods Seamless Transformation’ Technique to skillfully hide the cultivation bases of all the Shadow Beasts—not through exterior spell-casting, but because of their deeply rooted connection.
"Valley Master Yu invited me to watch over her more personal Spiritual Garden some weeks ago, and with an abundance of Rank 5, 6, and even 7 Spiritual Plants, my Lifespan has been steadily growing," Zar said. "But now that things have calmed down, and with the reassurance of the Seven-Gods Seamless Transformation Technique, I can begin sending my Shadow Beasts out on extermination missions again."
FWIP!
"Grrr...."
Just a single Shadow Beast evolved from a small panther filled up Zar’s entire house, putting him through a brief pause. He wondered when the Shadow Beasts became so big, but after remembering how much of a qualitative change the Soul Transformation Realm brought him, he felt that it all made sense.
"Sneaking all my Shadow Beasts out unnoticed will certainly be difficult," said Zar with a sigh. "But fortunately, they’ll have someone other than Albion to ensure that they remain stealthy and unseen."
Albion tilted its head, looking at its Master in confusion.
Who else but it could possibly keep those empty-headed idiots in line—!?
FWIP!
Widening Albion’s blackened eyes was a willowy soul-like figure slowly emerging from Zar’s front side. That figure took on the rough appearance of the one it came out of. With the addition of a little magical toning and texturing, an exact replica of Albion’s Master made itself known with the opening of a pair of piercing blue eyes.
What was this sorcery!?
And more importantly, could Albion do it too!?
Both Zars smirked at the funny expression Albion was making. They then answered its question with synced-up voices:
"Unfortunately, your Genuine Primordial Spirit is more of a placeholder, so you can’t outwardly project a physical entity that was never there to begin with," the Zars explained. "But before you get depressed, do recall that upgrading your special evolutionary qualities—like Lotus Flame and Fiery White Self-Regeneration—are far easier for you than for most. You’ve already gotten them to the Peak-Earth Rank, which makes you even more of a freak than me."
In fact, most couldn’t even upgrade their Cultiavtion and Martial Techniques to begin with. Only supreme geniuses could...
A freak...?
Albion’s feathers drooped at its Master’s mention of that word.
The Zars laughed even harder, finding the Named Albion quite amusing.
"Don’t worry, Albion, it’s a good thing," he assuaged its discontent with a light-hearted chuckle. "You’re a natural genius, and your potential for growth likely verges upon being infinite."
Albion felt a bit better after its Master’s words of reassurance, even going so far as to flaunt its feathers like a confident swan.
After a couple moments, the two Zars stopped doing the same things. Prime Zar sat back down on his cultivation mat, planning to do the same thing as he was doing before.
Whereas the Genuine Primordial Soul Zar, who shared the same mind, spirit, and existence as Prime Zar, took control of the shadow army.
Zar, who was again a singular split-minded entity, now diverted the majority of his functionality to the Genuine Primordial Soul. And though this version of him could only utilize cultivation roughly equivalent to the Half-step Deity Transformation Realm, it, along with his comprehensions in the Sword Dao, would be more than enough for what came next.
Both Prime and Primordial Soul Zar smiled at the same time, and with those smiles slowly turning into devilish smirks, Primordial Soul Zar left through the front door of his house. Dragging and fluctuating behind him was a huge, billowing shadow that hid within it too many terrifying presences to count.
Glowing purple eyes opened up ever so briefly the moment Zar left the Prime version of himself to cultivate in solitude. And with a thrilling coldness that threatened to envelop the world, Zar and an army of the undead vanished without a trace.
Thousands of miles away from Azure Medicine Valley, in the prosperous Capital of the Quixan Dynasty, three years after Zar’s breakthrough into the 2nd Layer of the Deity Transformation Realm—
"Come with us, woman!" a man shouted, possessing moderate characteristics of a polar bear, clearly above the Qi Condensation Realm. "You reap what you sow, and for saying such rubbish about the young Master, your life is no longer your own!"
