Lifespan Extraction: I Ascend As The Immortal Beast Tamer
Chapter 24: Opening System Interface, Core Formation 9th Layer, Supreme Sword Dao Spirit Roots

Chapter 24: Opening System Interface, Core Formation 9th Layer, Supreme Sword Dao Spirit Roots

"Very... Very well then," Zar said with a sigh before discarding any hesitation.

Facing his problems like a man, he slapped some lotion onto Hua Ling’s back. The coldness of his hands got a slight "Mmff~" out of the normally reserved woman. But except for a slightly redder complexion, she acted like nothing had happened and ordered him to continue.

At first, Zar had no idea what he was supposed to be doing. This was, after all, the first time he had ever really touched the body of a woman—or anyone, for that matter.

But if there was one thing that separated him from everyone else in the world, it was his ability to adapt. And in little more than a couple of minutes of rubbing Hua Ling up and down, he was already getting a moan out of her every other massaging motion.

It eventually reached a point where she could no longer take it, prompting her to rise and kick him out of her home. She wasn’t wearing anything while doing this, but she assumed that with her speed, he wouldn’t have seen a thing.

But he did.

He definitely did...

’Well... At least I can get back to cultivation now,’ Zar thought with a listless stare, trying his best to erase those last few alluring images from his mind. ’Women... They really are so confusing... Haiz...’

While he walked away from the scene scratching his head, Hua Ling could be seen sitting up against the front door of her home. Her face was redder than a tomato, with crystalline tears bubbling in the corners of her large, round eyes.

"Junior Brother Zar," she whispered in a velvety tone, her curvaceous body covered in sweat. "Zar... Junior Brother Zar... Mhmm~..."

Faint moans could then be heard coming from inside Hua Ling’s home, scaring Zar into moving his legs faster than ever. He feared what would happen if he stuck around any longer.

Yang Essence Draining She-Devils existed in this world, you know!?

Senior Sister Hua could very well be one of them!

Must stay on guard!

After returning to his humble small courtyard abode as fast as his shown cultivation would permit, he closed himself inside his house. If at all possible, he’d prefer to seclude himself in there for the rest of eternity, only coming out after attaining invincibility.

But unfortunately, if he wanted to min-max his Lifespan acquisition, he had to continue interacting with the outside world...

It was with a burst fire of sighs that Zar sat down in a meditative position on a cultivation mat. He cultivated the same way as everyone else until he heard a rather special System Notification inside his head.

*Ding~!*

[Your Lifespan has passed the 10,000 Mark!]

[Lifespan: 20/10,032]

"Albion and the other Shadow Beasts must’ve come across a good extermination target," Zar remarked, ultimately scrolling through the System Notifications that he had turned off for obvious reasons. "Ah, yes, Albion single-handedly slew a 3rd Layer Nascent Soul Realm Demonic Cultivator. Its power has definitely progressed a lot with it continuing to increase the proficiency of its Lotus Flame Ability."

Testing out that ability himself, Zar confirmed his suspicions. The tiny white flame hovering over his hands was wholly capable of obliterating a small town, which was crazy considering that similar such flames could be shot out like a Gatling gun.

A satisfied smile formed on Zar’s impassive face before he redirected his attention to his System Interface. With 10,000 Lifespan achieved, it was spending-spree time.

This could possibly be the last one he’d have until reaching 100,000 Lifespan.

BLING!

{[Lifespan Extraction System]}

[Name: Zar ????] - [Godling]

[Lifespan: 20/10,032]

[Beast Master Rank: Journeyman(3)]

[Spirit Root: Inferior Tier- Yin-Yang Dao Spirit Root (can invest lifespan to evolve)]

[Cultivation Level: 9th Layer Core Formation Realm (can invest lifespan to evolve)]

[Cultivation Technique(s): Seven Circulatory Rebirths (Low-Black)(Unmastered)]

[Martial Technique(s): Cataclysmic Purple Slash (Peak-Black)(Unmastered), Linear Jet Propulsion Footwork (Peak-Black)(Unmastered), Heavenly Transfiguration (Peak-Black)(Unmastered) - (can invest lifespan to evolve)]

[Named Beast(s): Albion (9th Layer Core Formation)]

[Total Contracted Beast(s): 160/160] - (can increase maximum limit using lifespan)

[Average Beast Cultivation Level: 7th Layer Core Formation]

After looking over his System Interface, Zar almost immediately clicked on the Lifespan invest button next to his Cultivation Technique. It being only of the Low-Black Rank was becoming a bit embarrassing.

*Ding!*

"Wait," Zar stopped. "Use Lifespan to throw up that Lifespan Barrier you spoke of—the one that can conceal everything happening in my general area."

[...The Lifespan expenditure is based on how much the Lifespan Barrier has to endure; are you sure you’d like to—]

"Yes!" Zar answered without hesitation. "To stay low-key while working toward invincibility, I need that Lifespan Barrier to shroud me in a veil."

[Very well then...]

[Lifespan Barrier Activated! Lifespan will be deducted accordingly!]

FWOOOSH!

An invisible, unseen translucent barrier expanded at an insane rate. It only stopped after reaching a circumference of ten meters, which was plenty for Zar.

"Also, I forgot about the Spirit Roots needing to come first for maximum gains, so do that. Then do the Cultivation Technique."

[Understood, Slave Master Sir!]

Then the Lifespan spending-spree commenced...

[You have invested 100 years of Lifespan into better understanding and comprehending your ’Inferior Tier- Yin-Yang Dao Spirit Root,’ which has granted you slight enlightenment into the next stage.]

[After comprehending your ’Inferior Tier- Yin-Yang Dao Spirit Roots’ for 250 years, you finally advance in your understanding of Yin and Yang, ascending from ’Inferior’ to ’Ordinary’ Tier!]

[With 500 years spent furthering your understanding of Yin and Yang with the ’Ordinary Tier- Yin-Yang Dao Spirit Roots,’ you catch a glimpse of the Yin-Yang Pagoda.]

[Yin-Yang Dao Spirit Roots (Ordinary) → (Better)]

[You have invested 800 years of Lifespan attempting to catch another glimpse of the mythical Yin-Yang Pagoda, and ultimately, you achieve what you wished for! Another period of enlightenment becomes you!]

[Yin-Yang Dao Spirit Roots (Better) → (Superior)]

[After spending 1,500 years of Lifespan in hopes of seeing higher horizons for your Talent, you not only progress your Yin-Yang Dao Spirit Roots to the (Perfect) state, but you also pull upon exceptional luck and breach past an even higher evolutionary stage!]

[Yin and Yang and Dao coalesce, then they transcend. And from that transcendence, a seed sprouts. A singular seed that births an entirely new Dao. One that foresees the Sword—a sharp edge, a mighty blade, an indomitable spirit—a Sword that becomes your Dao. A Dao that transforms how you cultivate!]

[Yin-Yang Dao Spirit Roots (Perfect) → Supreme Sword Dao Spirit Roots (Inferior)]

[You invest 2,000 years of Lifespan into furthering your comprehension of the Way of the Sword Dao, developing a trace amount of the Sword, which becomes a Level 1 Sword Intent!]

[Supreme Sword Dao Spirit Roots (Inferior) → (Ordinary)]

After reaching this point, Zar felt himself become one with the Sword—one with a Law and state of mind he hadn’t even delved into before now. Yet, with the simulated cultivation of the System, something entirely unfamiliar became second nature.

He could feel the Dao of the Sword permeate through him; he could breathe it; he could sense it coursing through his veins, altering his very existence.

It was euphoric!

A couple of minutes passed, and with the vibe Zar gave off becoming something wickedly sharp, he moved on to the upgrading of his Cultivation Technique. As his eyes fell upon the specified section, slivers of Sword Intent flickered from his razor-blue pupils.

Another round of Lifespan investing began...

[You have invested 100 years of Lifespan into the practice and understanding of your Unmastered Low-Black ’Seven Circulatory Rebirths’ Cultivation Technique, and because of your Ordinary Tier- Supreme Sword Dao Spirit Roots, you have achieved a new understanding of Cultivation!]

[Low-Black ’Seven Circulatory Rebirths’ (Unmastered) → (Partially Mastered)]

[After 300 years of cultivating your Low-Black ’Seven Circulatory Rebirths’ Cultivation Technique with your Ordinary Tier- Supreme Sword Dao Spirit Roots, your Partially Mastered comprehension advanced to ’Mastered.’]

[You have invested 600 years of Lifespan into the advancement and cultivation of your Low-Black ’Seven Circulatory Rebirths’ Cultivation Technique, allowing you to realize the known and the unknown, and the power of the Soul!]

[Low-Black ’Seven Circulatory Rebirths’ (Mastered) → Peak-Black ’Deity-Soul’s Five Marks’ (Unmastered)]

[You have invested 900 years of Lifespan into increasing your proficiency with your Unmastered Peak-Black ’Deity-Soul’s Five Marks’ Cultivation Technique, bringing about pleasant revelations!]

[Peak-Black ’Deity-Soul’s Five Marks’ (Unmastered) → (Partially Mastered)]

[After 1,300 long, excruciating years of cultivating the ’Deity-Soul’s Five Marks’ Cultivation Technique, your Partial Mastery connects to a complete state of Mastery, eventually becoming one!]

[Peak-Black ’Deity-Soul’s Five Marks’ (Partially Mastered) → (Mastered)]

[Although it took 2,000 of your best years, your stubborn struggles in finding something beyond the Five Marks of the Soul Deity led you back to the beginning. There, you find yourself recounting every individual aspect of each step your Cultivation Technique took on its evolutionary path. It was only then that you realized that the key to the next step of evolution had been there all along—in the Beginning.]

[Peak-Black ’Deity-Soul’s Five Marks’ (Mastered) → Low-Earth ’Heavenly Beginnings’ (Unmastered)]

Stopping the burning of his Lifespan, Zar took a second to adjust to the new way the world around him felt. With the acquisition of his first Earth-rank Technique—and a vital Cultivation Technique at that—the way his senses now interacted with the dirt, the trees, and even the sky had become far too surreal.

It was as if he had been seeing the world through blurry lenses before. Whereas now, colors were brighter, things became clearer, and... Natural Energy in the atmosphere could now be absorbed.

Passively, at that!

Natural Energy flooded Zar’s Golden and Sky Cores of its own free will, slowly but surely taking his Cultivation one step closer to his Nascent Soul Realm Lightning Tribulations.

It could always use a little boost, though...
