Chapter 1259: Chapter 1259: Incarnation of Order (Requesting Monthly Tickets)

He Ao stared closely at the illusory figure in the sky. He tried to open his mouth to speak, only to find it pressed shut by some invisible force, incapable of opening.

After a brief pause, he attempted to gather all of his chaotic power, channeling it toward his lips. The force churned everything surrounding him as blood seeped from the corners of his mouth, finally prying open a small gap in the invisible pressure.

He slowly opened his mouth, his hoarse and fragile voice resonating in the silent night, "And what about you? You’ve received these ’graces,’ been so favored by the Divine Being—what was your price?"

"This has nothing to do with the price, child."

The radiant figure silently gazed at He Ao, whose body was almost entirely covered in bloodstains and scabs, quivering faintly. A cold, indifferent voice followed, "This is what naturally comes to those aligned with the Divine Being—the rewards one ought to receive."

He raised his head, casting his eyes upon the inverted city illusion above, continuing,

"No need to worry about the difficulties of promotion or the horrors you might face. No need to anchor your reason amidst chaos through various random methods. No need for such and such concerns, to imprison yourself like a mouse constantly wary of a cat’s strike. Beyond that, aligning with the Divine Being offers one greatest benefit,"

Lowering his head, he looked at the perplexed He Ao and spoke softly,

"An angel protected by the Divine Being will never have to fear the torment of madness. He is immune to such ultimate ruin. Yuluns, constrained by the treacherous path they’ve walked, are unwilling to allow others to take a simpler, faster road, which confines them to this narrow world."

At the mention of this, his cold tone wavered slightly, but compared to his increasingly detached demeanor, this ripple seemed incapable of changing anything.

He Ao quietly watched the radiant figure, resembling a Divine Being. Suddenly, he asked softly, "Your ritual, is it nearing completion?"

"Thanks to you, child, I can feel the secret medicine being absorbed by my body."

The luminous figure scanned the surroundings placidly. During this brief conversation with He Ao, the crystals covering the ground began spreading faster than before, having already consumed over 60% of the city.

His body trembled slightly, his seemingly excited words echoing through the air. At that moment, his tone also took on a hint of exhilaration, rising and falling in cadence,

"The angelic power is genuinely merging with me. Can you feel it, child? My body, my soul—they are transforming. I am on the brink of entering the domain of mythic life, becoming the eternal and undying angel."

He Ao listened silently to the words, to the peaks and troughs of excitement. The voice was his former voice, the tone his former tone; even the rhythm seemed unchanged from the memories Suote left behind.

Yet everything seemed both ’normal’ and discordant.

The exceptionally accurate voice, the meticulously modulated pitch—it didn’t sound like ordinary speech but like the recital of lyrics dictated by some special rules on a stage.

Like a perfectly crafted puppet dressed in human clothes, mimicking humanity.

"Mentor,"

He Ao stared at the illusory figure, falling briefly silent. After a moment of quiet, he spoke slowly, "I called you many times before. Why didn’t you answer?"

Upon hearing his voice, the phantom figure sank into a certain stillness.

"At that time,"

Finally, the phantom trembled slightly, its cold voice swaying faintly into a wistful sigh, "I didn’t want to..."

Even as the words spilled forth, their once-perfect rhythm came undone with subtle shifts, lending his speech a trace of ’emotion.’ "...face you."

As his words concluded, he seemed to realize something. Lifting his head, he gazed blankly at the surrounding scene.

The encroaching crystals had already covered over eighty percent of the city, forging a tenuous connection between the figure and the urban sprawl.

The ritual of promotion continued unabated, perhaps due to having survived Suote’s final divine strike. The carpenter’s secret medicine coursing through him dissolved faster with every passing second.

Everything unfolded seamlessly, edging him closer to claiming the angel’s immortality.

Quickly, his shimmering figure regained stability. He lowered his head again, looking back at He Ao below. "Are you trying to move me through sentiment, child?"

The sound in the darkness carried a faint sigh. Though rigidly articulated, it crested and waned with an ancient chant-like cadence,

"For quite a long time, I indeed liked you. I always regarded you as my finest successor, someone I nurtured while even projecting my own aspirations onto you."

He raised his hand, and crystalline towers emerged from the ruins covered in crystals, rising sky-high,

"And the reason for all of this is simple. Back then, I was still human. My life had an ending. My genes compelled me to pass on my thoughts and ideals.

"Surging hormones pooled in my cerebrum, forming that thing we call ’emotion.’"

Clusters of crystalline towers sprouted like fast-growing bushes, barricading every pathway around them.

Even the partially completed crystal-lined patterns beneath He Ao’s feet quivered and began sprawling upward, tearing through the unfinished lines.

Just then, flickering violet light briefly burst forth at He Ao’s feet, suppressing the lunging crystals and stabilizing the incomplete lines.

"But now, I have achieved absolute immortality."

The vast figure glittered as it looked down at He Ao. "I am no longer the feeble, insignificant human. I don’t need any of those things anymore."

His fingertips swept across the terrain, and the crystalline towers sent out numerous tendrils like interconnected ’bridges,’ linking the buildings together.

Their chaotic yet orderly arrangement exuded a strange, mathematical beauty.

They blocked the skies and the ground, sealing off all possible escape routes around He Ao, immobilizing him in place.

"Child, your God is indeed fascinating. His powers possess inexplicable effects—take this city, for instance. My spirits require a long-term dwelling."

The figure in the heavens trembled as his meticulously measured voice reverberated between earth and sky. "Thank you for delivering this city into my hands. From now on, it is mine."

Amidst the dense gaps between crystalline skyscrapers, the all-consuming crystals had veiled the bulk of the cityscape.

A blazing burst of orange-yellow light gathered in the phantom’s palm. "The reason I’ve kept you alive until now was to stabilize the summoner’s connection with the city, preventing its collapse upon your death."

"But now, child, your purpose has expired."

The gathered yellow light ascended, blazing at the pinnacle of the sky like a radiant sun, illuminating ground and firmament. A voice brimming with mechanical cheer echoed amidst the crystalline spires,

"I can feel my body’s rapid alteration—I am entering that sacred domain."

"Now, I shall accomplish the ultimate step assigned by fate. Killing the destined obstacle will complete my ritual."

"Regrettably, child, I cannot reunite you with your parents in this mortal plane,"

His voice rose in manic delight. "So instead, I’ll send you to meet them."

During this climax of insanity, he should have erupted into raucous laughter, releasing the pent-up tension suffusing his ascent.

"The fate you’ve pursued doesn’t delineate the ending,"

He Ao raised his bloodstained lips, speaking hoarsely, "Moreover, Mentor."

He fixed his sight on the radiant golden sphere overhead, wherein lurked a terrifying force waiting to erupt forth.

His tone escalated, the resolute, ragged voice echoing clearly across the night sky, "Right now, who are you really?"

"Who am I?"

The figure in the sky seemed to treat the question like a naïve joke. His trembling form issued stiff laughter that reverberated across the heavens, "Of course, I am Order—"

The quaking voice fell silent as if abruptly silenced by an unseen force.

The shining sphere in the sky, the towering figure below it, the crystalline edifices—everything froze in stifling quiet, as though life itself had its breath stolen.

He Ao remained motionless, silently watching it all.

The Divine Being protected your body, granting you angel-tier power even before the ritual.

The Divine Being guided you to a contract ensuring the ritual’s completion, eliminating your worries.

The sufferings endured by predecessors—you need not endure them.

The peril faced by predecessors—you need not face it.

The winding roads trodden by predecessors—you need not tread them.

The Divine Being erected a ladder toward the heavens, so you might step lightly to the top of the Firmament.

Then, what is the price?

Bang—

As He Ao gazed at the figure in the sky during this brief interlude, trembling violet light converged from every direction before settling in front of He Ao.

Textbooks, notebooks, pens, a worn miniature backpack, and an old ink bottle.

He Ao, looking at these ’familiar props,’ maintained a calm demeanor.

This city, woven between reality and illusion, allowed He Ao to replicate anything devoid of true spirit.

He observed the five items arranged before him, as fractured skull shards and phalanx fragments floated from his front pocket.

These were ’Joey’s spoils, claimed en route through the carnage. Thus, He Ao had reached out to ’catch’ Joey, simultaneously slipping the remains into his pocket.

Boom—

As the items surfaced momentarily, the colossal form of the crystalline giant forged from orderly lines regained motion atop the Firmament.

"You’re clever, child,"

That voice remained unchanged, the tone consistent, but there was no longer fluctuation—no cadence. The radiant figure stared at He Ao and the items surrounding him.

"A communication ritual with the God of Knowledge? It seems your faith doesn’t prevent you from seeking assistance from foreign deities. This isn’t your first time calling on Him."

His gaze swept over the runic lines beneath He Ao, incomplete and chaotic. "But all your actions, everything you’ve done, is meticulously documented by the Federal Bureau of Investigation."

He raised his hand, intense lines pouring from his palm into the void. "You won’t have the opportunity to finish this Ritual Array..."

The pressure pressing down on He Ao skyrocketed suddenly, pinning him helplessly. His ribs shattered.

Spurt—

He Ao trembled violently, coughing blood but incapable of physical movement, his lips locked tight under the oppressive force.

"Knowing your tricks,"

His hand extended, lines surging into the air from his palm. "Do you think I wouldn’t prepare for them?"

The radiant yellow brilliance in the sky compressed to its limits, surging forth with overwhelming force.

At that moment, startling violet brilliance descended, tearing through the encompassing crystals around He Ao. Layers of translucent barriers rose from the earth, enveloping He Ao, shielding him from the radiant light.

Boom—

The violet brilliance trembled as the earth quaked vigorously. The towering walls at the city’s periphery endured a violent impact seemingly akin to a mountain shattering, crumbling in rapid sequence.

The phantom figure in the heavens appeared unfazed, seemingly anticipating He Ao’s survival gambit. His form showed no flicker of change.

The radiant orb reignited, not aiming at He Ao this time but delving deep into the world’s core, piercing into the Depths of Darkness.

Invisible blades emerged from the Firmament, layer by layer severing through the purple haze blanketing the sky. He Ao keenly felt his connection with the city deteriorating rapidly.

The barriers before him thinned at an alarming pace.

His expression remained icy, knowing his chaotic power alone couldn’t resist the order’s crushing oppression. But that was fine; insufficient strength simply required more strength.

Extending his Divine Sense throughout his throat, jaw, and chest, in that instant, he bound his consciousness to his own flesh, forcing a brutal ’tear’ of blood and sinew.

"I... have..."

The bloodied flesh crackled beneath the strain, as thick rivers of blood swelled forth.

"Hmm?"

The figure in the sky lowered his gaze, examining He Ao.

Amidst his bloody chest, a vibrant red Septagram glowed faintly.

"Witn...ess..."

The spilling blood infiltrated the engraved Septagram. The seven items suspended before He Ao aligned themselves, slotting neatly into the star’s points.

"All... things... must... decay..."

A hoarse murmur echoed through the heavens. The radiant golden light atop the Sky flared furiously like a thunderstorm.

"Only... the... truth..."

The barrier visibly deteriorated, with the radiant light nearing He Ao swiftly.

"Is..."

"Infinite..."

As the final syllable fell, a vast and timeless gaze pierced through untold dimensions, settling upon He Ao.

For a moment, He Ao felt an unmistakable connection, his mind flooded with memories and insight. "The Great Order entrusted me with this message: Mad fool, and to make it clear, let me simplify—idiot."

This time, the response came swiftly. In fact, the instant He Ao mentioned "Great Order," silvery-white forces shredded through the starry firmament in a colossal rift.

A loyal ally remains ever eager and dependable.

Whether the ally actually heard the latter words, He Ao couldn’t say.

If not, that would certainly be a pity.

After all, his mentor’s words deserved honest retelling—even if embellished with some artistic flair.

The ally gave no time for contemplation. As the heavens split apart, an immense grey eye overshadowed the cosmos, blotting out the light.

The terrifying pressure instantly shattered the crystalline towers rising around them.

"Vile nuisance."

The radiant entity raised his gaze, facing the enormous grey eye above.

Stretching his hand outward, endless lines erupted, slicing toward the heavens.

A gaze equally vast swept across the ether, tearing the other half of the firmament open. Boundless lines surged from the rupture, colliding with the sprawling grey rift.

In an instant, these lines entwined the colossal grey eye, crystallizing into angular forms, encapsulating the celestial vision above.

The radiant figure lowered his gaze toward He Ao, speaking calmly, "I warned you—knowing your techniques, I wouldn’t leave myself unprepared."

His brilliance flickered as he continued, "I suppose by now you’ve guessed my identity."

Countless reflections shimmered luminously behind him.
