Lethal Stunner: Kicking Off with Five Beast Husbands
Chapter 79 New Rules of the Mist Continent

Chapter 79: Chapter 79 New Rules of the Mist Continent

Xiao Jinsheng smiled lightly at him, just about to speak, when her expression suddenly changed.

"What’s wrong?" Huaiqing asked.

"The terminal has published new rules," Xiao Jinsheng said.

Even though Huaiqing had foreseen that the terminal would release new rules, when the moment finally arrived, he was still surprised.

During breakfast time, the eight of them sat around the dining table, no one speaking, quietly waiting while Xiao Jinsheng read the terminal’s new rules.

[Terminal: Good morning, Task Takers of the Mist Continent]

[Terminal: To address the apocalypse and assist humanity in building a better survival environment, the following rules are now revised]

[Rule 1: The number of Beast Husbands for Mist Continent females has been increased from the previous base of 5 to a new base of 7. Families that lack the required number will have missing Beast Husbands matched automatically after rule updates. If a Beast Husband dies midway and the female is under 45 years old, new Beast Husbands will still be matched to maintain at least 7 members in the household.]

[Rule 2: A timed competition will be held on Cloud Island in one month. All females with spiritual power of 5 Stars or above must participate along with their families. Failure to meet the conditions will result in a deduction of 10,000 Five Star Stones.]

[Rule 3: To enhance females’ survival abilities in the Mist Continent, Star Level restrictions are removed. All females who head to Cloud Island and obtain the Flower of Hope can awaken a second superpower, which is no longer limited to spiritual power.]

[Notes: Survival supplies for females heading to Cloud Island will be provided by the terminal. Beast Husbands from each household must prepare their own survival supplies.]

[Notes: Families from different regions must set out following the map issued via the terminal Star Map. Spatial jumps, teleportation, and similar superpowers are prohibited in the Mist North Domain for competition cheating.]

Upon hearing the last note, Li looked visibly displeased.

As the new rules were updated, five large boxes were delivered out of thin air by the terminal.

Su Ye opened a box, revealing provisions for food, clothing, shelter, and travel—all prepared specifically for Xiao Jinsheng by the terminal.

"Why are they all winter clothes?" Xiao Jinsheng questioned, puzzled.

"Cloud Island is in the northernmost part of the Mist Continent. You need to pass through the Mist North Domain and cross the Ice Sea to reach it," Shi Xie explained. "I’ve heard it’s covered in snow year-round and uninhabited."

"One month to reach Cloud Island is already rushing it," Que Zelian reminded.

"So we’re leaving today then?" Xiao Jinsheng asked, standing up as she spoke.

The men, pragmatic as ever, quickly returned to their rooms to grab their belongings, throwing them all into Xiao Jinsheng’s space.

"Let’s go buy supplies," Su Ye said, holding two car keys and tossing one to Huaiqing before striding toward the door.

As Xiao Jinsheng drove her two cars out of the yard, she encountered Bai Yan’s household next door, also ready to leave in their two vehicles.

No need to ask—Bai Yan’s family was obviously rushing to grab supplies as well.

After all, no one was sure how long the competition would last, nor how long they would have to stay on Cloud Island. Supplies needed to be fully stocked.

Residents of Moon City had to head to the trading market to purchase provisions.

When Bai Yan saw Xiao Jinsheng’s cars leaving the courtyard, her drivers, Jin Ao and Kui Mao, immediately slammed on their gas pedals, ramming Huaiqing’s car to take the lead on the main road.

Kui Mao even stuck his hand out the window, taunting with a thumbs-down gesture.

"Move over, let me drive," Li said from the back seat.

"You’re better suited for this," Huaiqing agreed, though he didn’t vacate the driver’s seat. Instead, he turned to Xiao Jinsheng and said, "Put us all into the space."

"You... Oh~ I get it now," Xiao Jinsheng said, meeting his grin and nodding. "Huaiqing, you really are sneaky."

Li caught on too. Now they were racing against time, racing for supplies.

Whoever reached the trading market first would have the advantage.

Time meant supplies—why waste energy competing with Jin Ao and the others in a car-chase?

Once Xiao Jinsheng placed the two cars and the men into her space, Li immediately grabbed her and stepped through the light circle. In an instant, they appeared in the underground parking lot of the trading center.

This time, Xiao Jinsheng didn’t bother taking the cars out—she simply brought the men out of the space.

Taking the elevator up, the trading center had plenty of people but wasn’t overcrowded yet.

According to the duty schedule, Li was assigned to guard Xiao Jinsheng today, while the others scattered to grab supplies.

Food, drinks, and essentials—they took anything and everything they could find without checking prices. They filled up two cars each and handed them off to Xiao Jinsheng and Li outside to check out. Then, they switched to new carts and continued frantically shopping.

Meanwhile, Bai Yan’s household was still en route.

"Why haven’t their cars caught up yet?" Kui Mao asked, puzzled.

"Did they crash?" Kong Chengrui wondered.

"Forget them, stocking up is more urgent," Xi Qu reminded.

At least Bai Yan’s family assumed that Xiao Jinsheng’s vehicles had been blocked, meaning they’d arrive at the trading center later.

Not only did Xi Qu think this, but Bai Yan herself was firmly convinced.

But when they arrived at the trading center, they saw Xiao Jinsheng swiping her card at the checkout counter, practically non-stop.

Bai Yan froze. "Jinsheng, weren’t you supposed to..." be behind us?

"You must have mistaken it. I stayed here last night," Xiao Jinsheng lied smoothly.

System: [Didn’t I remind you before? Li’s superpower is domain—he can spatially jump.]

System: [If the terminal hadn’t banned these abilities for this timed mission, they’d already be at the Northern Domain Mist by now.]

Bai Yan felt utterly vexed.

Thinking back on her smug satisfaction during the drive—assuming Xiao Jinsheng wouldn’t be able to grab supplies—her Beast Husbands would end up starving, and she could lend them food to earn favor.

But seeing the mountain of shopping receipts piled around Xiao Jinsheng, Bai Yan realized how far ahead she was.

Scanning the trading center, the most visible racks were already empty.

Bai Yan understood this wasn’t the time to confront Xiao Jinsheng, hastily bringing her Beast Husbands inside to grab supplies.

On Xiao Jinsheng’s side, as Yu Yunxiao and the others returned with the final two carts, she concluded her shopping.

After all, she already had supplies stored in her space from earlier preparations.

At this point, there wasn’t much left to buy at the trading center anyway.

Better to take advantage of the daylight and quieter roads to head out now.

Xiao Jinsheng definitely didn’t want to travel alongside Bai Yan.

This time, for all participating families, the terminal issued one-time-use handbands with infinite durability.

The handbands were only effective for one month, during which they could resist the poisonous fog of the Mist West.

Additionally, to prevent loopholes where people took handbands without participating, one month later the handband wearer had to check in personally at Cloud Island. This would verify that the handbands with infinite durability were used specifically for traveling to the competition.

Apart from the handbands, participating females and their Beast Husbands also received maps on the Star Map.

The maps marked fixed routes for each city to reach Cloud Island.

Following the routes, the teams heading to Cloud Island drove along the border between Mist West and Mist East.

Looking out the window, Xiao Jinsheng noticed that every household was made up of one female paired with seven Beast Husbands.

The participants ranged in age from 18 to their early 40s.

There were no elderly people or children.

Noticing Xiao Jinsheng’s intrigue, Que Zelian explained, "The Mist Continent hasn’t had a newborn in five years."
