Chapter 565: Chapter 209: Conceptual Promotional Video
"Fuck... damn it all," Xiang Shan furiously pressed his hand against his forehead, "damn it all."
In reality, Xiang Shan had not acquired much memory.
The Six Dragons Sect was a secretive organization that placed high demands on concealment. They would certainly have conducted security training for their core members.
And with Inner Strength being slightly developed, one could control the information inputted into a device by the brain, preventing the unintentional outflow of memories.
The reason Xiang Shan was able to obtain Mystic Tortoise True Gang was because a large part of Cyber Martial Arts needed to rely on algorithms. This part had to be stored in machinery.
The truly critical information would never enter a hard drive.
Xiang Shan had not obtained any more intelligence about the Six Dragons Sect.
What really concerned him was another matter.
Guardian Zhi had an obsession. This obsession was repeated daily and was unconnected to any secrets.
"Do I possess one-tenth of the Martial Arts skills of the King of Godspeed?"
Yet, accompanying this thought was a segment of memory.
"My memory... is my memory!"
Xiang Shan was greatly infuriated, "The second time now! The second time!"
"Actually using my memory! To! Brainwash! The strivers!"
Xiang Shan angrily paced around the room, swinging his arms, wanting to smash something to vent his anger.
This was one of the things he could not tolerate.
Right after he had woken up, he had annihilated a Green Forest Stronghold. That stronghold had undertaken an "experiment" outsourced by the Six Dragons Sect.
To ensure that the Green Forest members would fully commit to this experiment, the Six Dragons Sect had additionally provided a fragment of Xiang Shan’s memory.
It was about "changing the world" and "exploring the unknown."
If that segment was extracted alone, then the gist was "To change the world, we need revolutionary technology. And to acquire this technology, I am willing to betray everything, even my life."
This indeed was "one aspect" of Xiang Shan.
But it was one-sided. It could only be considered as one of Xiang Shan’s obsessions, not even the complete form of Xiang Shan’s dreams.
The Six Dragons Sect had done this deliberately.
Guardian Zhi also had a similar memory.
Perhaps it was this segment of memory that planted the relevant obsession in the mind of Guardian Zhi.
It might even be that Guardian Zhi had similar obsessions originally, but under the effect of this segment of memory, they became increasingly delusional.
But still...
"My memory... this is actually..." Xiang Shan tapped his head and calmed himself down forcibly, only to end up laughing out of anger.
"Eight" reappeared in his view, sitting cross-legged: "Well, the Six Dragons Sect really gets Xiang Shan. I admit it, they understand Xiang Shan better than Xiang Shan himself."
"Native" nodded, "Fair point, indeed. If you asked me to extract a segment from my own memory to brainwash into a specific type of striver, winner, or maniac, I really couldn’t do it."
"Are those involved lost, while the onlookers see clearly?"
"Damn it all."
Xiang Shan pressed his hand against his head and focused his mind, allowing that segment of memory to surface at the forefront of his consciousness.
Although this was a consciously edited memory, he himself was "Xiang Shan," and having protector Zhi as a reference allowed him to avoid being misled to a certain extent.
The amount of memory also was not substantial. Although Xiang Shan expressed great indignation towards the actions of the Six Dragons Sect, he still needed to recall the memory.
....................................
The memory began in front of a screen.
The screen first went pitch black. Then, a bright yellow patch flashed across.
The patch rapidly transformed, quickly making it apparent that it was the silhouette of a person.
Anyone with any concept of "kung fu movies" could easily recognize that this was the silhouette of the martial artist and artist who had shaken the world eighty years earlier — Bruce Lee.
The bright yellow patch jumped, and "Bruce Lee" launched his trademark flying kick.
Accompanied by a highly recognizable strange roar, the entire screen went dark again.
Then, soft light emerged. In the darkness, a corporate logo slowly appeared. That was a transformation of the oracle bone character for "human" with a small Simplified Chinese "human" character in the upper right corner, acting like the "exponent" symbol in mathematics. The two "human" characters together formed a logo.
Next to this logo was a dividing line. On the other side of the line was an artistic "H+".
Beneath that, there was a line of tiny letters in both Chinese and English: "Transhumanism International Corporation."
As soon as the trademark was clear enough to be seen, it began jumping around the screen.
Then, background music started playing, and the camera pulled away.
The logo was actually printed on a piece of muscle.
Or rather, on a piece of prosthetic body resembling muscle.
This "prosthetic muscle" was the deltoid, located at the left shoulder of a human.
The camera zoomed out and up, and the viewers of the video finally saw the full figure of the man.
In pitch blackness, a man was punching.
One hand guarded his chin while the other reached forward, utilizing a strategic depth different from boxing’s "both hands guarding the chin." For his feet, he used a sliding step akin to boxing’s, moving back and forth, and punching at lightning speed.
His shoulders, back, and both arms were all prosthetic.
In this series of rapid punches and elbows, the camera moved to the ground, clearly showing that the man’s feet were also prosthetic. This biomechanical portion started from the feet, extended up to where they were covered by shorts, and then continued up to the abdomen.
Last, the camera gave a close-up of the man’s face.
In that instant, the man swiftly lifted his leg and executed a high kick, evidently marked by Bruce Lee’s signature style, sending the camera flying.
The camera shattered, then a few big letters emerged.
"New Jeet Kune Do, Lu Xuanyu."
Following that, several technical action frames appeared simultaneously, including the signature Inch Punch and high kick, along with less classic techniques like the nunchaku, short stick, Eight Slash Saber, and two-handed sword. In each frame, the prosthetic muscles were visibly outlined. These technical actions danced through the air like fragments and finally settled on the man.
"A new human born to break the mold."
The short video came to an end at this point.
Then, the conference room lights came on. Several staff members spontaneously applauded.
Xiang Shan raised his hand and made a grabbing motion in mid-air. The applause abruptly stopped. Then, Xiang Shan turned toward the person sitting in the center of the conference room, full of expectation, and asked, "Lu, what do you think?"
Lu Xuanyu nodded absently, instinctively clapping and said, "It’s very good... better than I imagined. I really didn’t expect to enjoy this kind of treatment..."
"If you have no objections, then this will be your personal promotional video. It will proclaim to the whole world that you, Lu Xuanyu, have arrived!"
