Chapter 43: Great Lake Purge- Part 3
The distance between where Riven initially was and the warship was about a hundred meters.
He covered this distance in four powerful leaps.
Each time his foot landed on the ice, the force of his step blasted a circular shockwave outward.
The circular shockwaves cracked the frozen surface, sending loud booms echoing through the air and vibrating the surroundings.
The pirates, who had just witnessed the brutal slaughter of their companions, could barely process what was happening.
Although elite pirates, they weren’t trained soldiers.
They weren’t soldiers who could face death under command.
They weren’t prepared to face someone like this.
They were criminals who targeted undefended villages, looted merchants, and preyed on the weak.
They were not ready to fight such madness.
It took 4... maybe 5 seconds for Riven to reach Thunder Hand.
When Riven Was getting closer and closer-
"BRAACCCEEEEEE!!!!!!!"
Thunder Hand howled at the top of his lungs, hoping at least some of his subordinates would wake the fuck up.
He knew the enemy was already in front of him. He knew the fight on his own ship was now unavoidable.
All he could do was hope that someone, anyone, would snap out of fear and join the defense. If they don’t....
Riven reached Thunder Hand in an instant.
Riven landed on the deck and skidded until he reached Thunder Hand’s position.
He took a stance immediately, his body lowering into a combat posture that gave him both balance and explosive power.
He shifted his weight onto one leg and twisted his waist, preparing to drive his punch directly into Thunder Hand’s abdomen.
At the same time, Thunder Hand responded by planting his feet firmly onto the wooden deck.
He crossed both of his forearms in front of his torso to shield himself from the incoming strike.
His gauntlets buzzed with blue light as he summoned electricity.
His arms from his elbows turned blue – it was a coating of solid lightning.
CRACKLE
The air that surrounded them crackled with blue sparks responding to his Innate foundation.
The pirates around felt their energy go sluggish. Their bodies tingled.
Thunder Hand’s body tensed.
He was trying to absorb the impact using all the lightning energy he had and transfer it elsewhere.
The most anticipated straight punch, then arrived.
Riven did not hold anything back.
His partially complete Pure Martial Divine physique in full, he circulated his energy to run to his right fist, making it gleam in pure gold.
This was a full-force strike, drawn from the deep reserves of his massive dantian.
A flash of gold light!
BOOOOOMMMMMM
The punch landed.
The sound was deafening.
It was the shockwave from the explosion of energy that followed the punch.
The air around them violently expanded, creating a sudden burst of pressure.
Weaker ones were directly blasted off the deck from the energy shockwave, spitting blood and severely injured or dead.
The stronger ones held their heads and knelt on the floor, bleeding from their ears and their nose.
The pressure of the energy was so intense that their organs were damaged just by being nearby.
"Kuugh"
Thunder Hand’s arms were still crossed in front of him, but the power of the blow had pushed him several steps backward.
His feet scraped across the deck, leaving behind deep gouges in the wood.
He gritted his teeth. But, he managed to stay standing.
Thunder Hand gritted his teeth, he uncrossed his arms, and threw out a heavy right hook, aiming directly at Riven’s head.
CHIIII CRACKLE
His gauntlets came flashing blue.
The void that was created from the previous explosion, pushing the air outward, was again churned by this punch.
His heaven and earth foundation buzzed, and the world assisted him by pushing him forward violently towards Riven.
The blow came fast.
A normal person wouldn’t have even seen it.
Infused with a decade of battle experience, Riven dodged the punch by arching his spine backward in an unnatural curve to avoid the punch.
The lightning-charged fist swept past his face, missing by centimeters.
If his face were not protected by his energy, the tearing air pressure alone would have ripped the skin off his face.
The attack was so fast and powerful... the air might have ’cracked’.
Flashing in front of his face, the Thunder Hand’s prepared energy turned into blue lightning that zipped past above his face like a cannon.
Without wasting a moment, Riven moved both of his hands.
His hands that were on his sides moved rapidly and caught Thunder Hand’s outstretched right hand like a claw, clamping down like a beast catching prey.
<Dragon Siezing Claw>
Golden Yang energy turned into claws and sank into the flesh of his opponent’s outstretched right arm.
The energy tore into the muscles and tendons in the forearm, sending a jolt of INTENSE pain through Thunder Hand’s body.
"ARGHH! You bast—"
In that moment, Riven pushed both of his feet off the deck and launched himself upward.
Goal?
Driving both boots directly into Thunder Hand’s abdomen.
<Grand Ancestor Fist Canon – Return to Simplicity>
Now broken through its limits, the fist intent is no longer limited to ’fists’.
His understanding of Fist Intent had reached a level where even his legs could deliver the same devastating effect.
His boots shone with golden light.
A maniacal grin spread across Riven’s face.
Riven: "BAHAHAHAHAHA... COME ON!!!"
He infused Fist intent into the soles of his boots, and both of his feet exploded into Thunder Hand’s abdomen like a cannon blast.
Twenty percent of his energy was spent right then and there.
And that twenty percent was from a dantian that was expanded TEN TIMES with ten supreme Earth grade Primordial pills.
Thunder Hand’s eyes popped out of his sockets in horror.
Thunder Hand’s body couldn’t handle it.
Terror replaced rage.
’This was not what Intel said!!!!!’
They were told this boy was dangerous, but not like this.
Thunder Hand tried to counter by reinforcing his inner energy and channeling it to his body armor and his right arm.
He fought against the attack with everything he had.
He tried.
He tried his fucking best.
But still, that horrifying fist intent and scorching Yang energy wreaked havoc in his abdomen.
The energy, as if it had sentience, entered his own energy system. It stormed through his meridians, burning and tearing them apart.
It wrecked his internal energy network and sent his cultivation into chaos.
Riven was not merely having fun here.
Oh no...
<Flawless Star shifting>
The perfected Star Shifting technique was activated and Riven made sure that Thunder Hand’s energy went berserk.
This was enough for his own intent to bang on Thunder Hand’s dantian.
CRACKKK
No one except Thunder Hand heard that ear-piercing crack.
A gut-wrenching despair like no other clouded his mind, as blood seeped through his mouth, eyes, nose, and ears.
His future path is gone.
This took one... maybe two seconds?
The energy within him was no longer his to control.
It ran wild... no, it was being ’driven’ wild by someone else.
The refined inner force that once obeyed his will now turned against him, destroying him from within.
Riven planted his feet firmly on the deck.
The soles of his boots shimmered again with golden light, and in the next instant.... He went for seconds.
Again lifted off his legs and blasted the same attack.
BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM
CRAAAASSSSS Riippp
You could hear it tearing.
The horror-inducing sound spread through the surroundings.
Wet.
Messy.
Loud.
With Riven holding his opponent’s right hand clamped tight and his feet bursting with cannon-like energy...
Thunder Hands’ forearm muscles, energy pathways all ripped as he was hurled across the deck and into the frozen lake.
Thunder Hand’s entire body was launched like a broken doll, flung over the ship’s railing.
He crashed into the frozen lake with a loud splash.
That was it.
Gone.
The surrounding pirates slowly started to wake up.
Their boss... was no longer on the warship.
For a couple of seconds a silence ensued.
Then a soft sigh was heard.
Riven stood straight.
Blood and torn flesh clung to his gloves.
Part of Thunder Hand’s forearm was still in his grasp, was still twitching, the tendons dangling like strings of raw meat.
The almost peaceful scenery was again agitated, by...
Fweeep
The moment Riven stood up, he caught an arrow that came whistling towards his temple with deadly precision.
Without even looking, Riven lifted his hand.
Catch.
Casually burning into an ash with his Yang fire, he looked at one of the ships to his left.
One of the ships to his left.
An archer stood on the upper deck, eyes red from strain.
He was still in position, bow half-lowered, hand trembling.
"I see."
Riven stared at him.
With neither rage nor scorn.
But with a strange kind of approval.
"You held your draw for just the right moment. Waited until I was distracted. You even timed your breath before the release, huh?"
Riven nodded with a gentle smile. His voice reaching the surrounding ships.
"Not bad".
If it weren’t for the remaining forearm flesh in his hand, and blood that spilled onto his face earlier, he might.... Just might look gentle.
But the moment passed quickly and he lost interest.
He ignored the other ships and turned...
Dozens of pirates were still there.
Weapons drawn.
Hands shaking.
Not one of them dared to take a step forward.
His smile was no longer there. His face had turned calm.
He looked at them as if he were looking at something inferior.
Bringing his palms together, they gleamed golden with Yang energy and Fist intent again.
He clapped his hands together once.
There was a metallic echo.
The heat intensified and the golden light shimmered violently.
Then! He threw his arms outward.
<Sun wheel>
A circle of pure golden light erupted from his body. The ring expanded outward in all directions.
It was too fast for these Mortals to face anyway, so just like earlier, the wave of energy struck them like a wall, and they blew up into chunks of flesh.
His hands clapped, as he dusted them off.
Just then!
