"Wow, the system is really convenient for things like this. I wonder what kind of magic has been cast on it. Maybe I should try reconstructing it."

Liam was in a good enough mood to make these jokes. The success of the boss fight made him feel much better, and he even let out a satisfied sigh as he watched his inventory fill up.

Now that he was done with the boss, he wanted to try a few more things out.

However, it did not take long before the claws of reality came clutching down on him.

"Oi, human! Are you sure you are not forgetting something really important? We need to head back right now. This dungeon will become unstable without a boss to sustain it."

Asger reminded Liam, and his sharp words cut through Liam’s consciousness to ground him.

The half-dragon had been a dungeon boss and knew more about dungeons than anyone else. It was a given that he knew things like this.

And just seconds after Asger gave that warning, the system issued the same warning. However, this time, it was a warning that was broadcasted across the dungeon.

[Alert: The boss monster of the dungeon was killed. The dungeon will collapse in 1 hour. Please head back to the exit within the given time.]

The instructions were clear, but they made Liam’s heart drop. The situation was turning out to be a little different than he thought.

"Shit! We don’t have time. We should get going... No, wait, what do I do with the loot? If those people search my inventory, then I am done for. Should I try using a large-scale memory-wiping spell? I’m sure I have the power—"

Liam almost panicked before Asger decided to step in and smack Liam on the back.

The sting of being hit immediately snapped Liam out of his daze, and he blinked at the half-dragon standing beside him.

"Calm down and get back to your senses, Liam. If you are worried about being discovered, then just cast magic on both of us to make our presence more oblivious. That way, people will still see you walking past but won’t try to interact with you."

Asger advised, and it helped Liam calm down.

"You are right. This could work out fine... I just need to calm down and use my magic."

It was easy to use magic once Liam calmed himself down, and he began to head toward the exit with Asger.

There were around two dozen people gathered there already, and they were all complaining to the administration about what happened and how they were locked out.

"What do you mean the dungeon has collapsed? What about my raid exp? I need to get more of it to level up."

"No!!!! My money! My hopes and dreams! How will I repay my debt?"

"I-I needed that flower to cure my wife! She will not get better now. Why did this have to happen now of all times?"

All around Liam, people complained and cried at the unfairness of what happened. But there were not only sad noises in the crowd.

There were more angry people than sad ones, and the angry ones were violent as well.

"Tsk, this all feels like a scam. The dungeon is not collapsing; you just don’t want us to take a look inside because you want to monopolize it for yourself."

"Is the association so scummy that they would rush to monopolize a beginner’s dungeon? Do you people have no shame?"

People yelled, and the representatives were having a hard time controlling them.

Seeing this happen, Liam felt a little silly for being worried about getting checked and being found out as the reason behind the dungeon collapse.

At this rate, it would be a miracle if these people managed to get anything done.

"Oi, human, I am saying this just in case, but don’t you dare blame yourself for what happened. None of this is your fault for closing the dungeon by defeating the boss. It was something that was bound to happen."

Asger tried to make Liam feel better, but there was no need to.

Liam had been mentally fragile before, but ever since the system had reinforced his mind and emotions, he no longer felt the same way he used to.

He could think objectively and knew that none of this was his fault. So there was no need for him to feel guilty about what was happening around him.

"Don’t worry. I am not sad or angry. I understand that this is not my fault as well. Let’s quickly report that we are back and head home."

Liam assured the half-dragon, and he quickly made his way over to get recorded.

The female worker looked at him, and she seemed ready to ask him questions. But she stopped, and her eyes glazed over due to Liam’s spell.

"Let me check... Hmm, nothing is wrong with you. You are free to leave now."

The lady checked Liam out quickly, and he was able to leave without being caught. Finally, he had managed to finish his first dungeon raid with flying colors... well, if you didn’t take into account the disaster that happened.

"Hey, Liam, maybe you should invest in a false identity if you are going to keep heading into dungeons. You just seem like the kind of guy to keep attracting trouble. Sooner or later, this will be linked back to you."

Asger informed Liam in a calm voice, and Liam had to seriously wait and consider it.

It was... not a bad idea. But what surprised him was the fact that Asger gave it to him. How did the kid even know—

"Well, in movies and dramas, the hero always has a secret identity that helps them out. You should get one as well, so you can be—"

...Ah yes, there was that. I forgot how much of a drama enthusiast this half-dragon has become. Of course, he would get such an idea.
