Chapter 132: 132: Issue Resolved- Part 2
Ethan hesitated, but as Zane let out another roar and slammed against the cracking barrier, he realized he had no choice.
With a sharp inhale, Liam turned to Asger.
"Let’s end this."
Asger grinned.
With pleasure."
With that, the half-dragon launched forward, his body moving in a blur as he closed the distance between himself and Zane in a heartbeat. His claws ignited with blue flames, magic crackling dangerously around him.
Zane roared and lunged to attack, but Asger was faster.
The battle began.
Liam didn’t waste any time. While Asger kept Zane occupied, Liam focused all his energy on reinforcing the magical space around them. If Zane’s magic got out of control, there was no telling how much damage he could do.
The room shook with the force of the battle, each clash of magic sending shockwaves through the air.
Despite his monstrous new form, Zane was still losing ground. Asger’s experience and skill far outmatched his uncontrolled rage.
Within minutes, the outcome was clear.
Zane let out one last, agonized roar before collapsing, his monstrous body convulsing before rapidly shrinking back down. His skin returned to its normal color, his limbs returning to their previous shape.
Finally, he lay still.
Liam took a deep breath as the chaos around him finally began to settle.
Zane lay unconscious, his body twitching every now and then, but the monstrous transformation had been completely reversed.
His skin was pale, his breathing shallow, but at least he was back to his human form.
Liam cast a quick restraining spell on him, securing his limbs so he wouldn’t be able to move if he woke up in a violent frenzy again.
Meanwhile, Ethan, who had been watching for an opportunity to escape, suddenly made his move. The moment he thought Liam was too distracted securing Zane, he bolted towards the door.
However, Asger had been waiting for this.
With a lazy but calculated movement, the dragon shifted into his full-sized form, his wings stretching out and blocking Ethan’s path entirely.
Ethan skidded to a stop, his eyes widening in horror as he finally took in the sight of Asger’s true form.
His entire body trembled as he slowly backed away, but he was clearly desperate enough to try something.
He clenched his fists, his magic flaring around him as he attempted to use his ability to drain Asger’s magic.
Big mistake.
Asger let out an amused snort before swiping at Ethan like he was nothing more than an annoying insect.
The sheer force of the air pressure alone sent Ethan flying backward, slamming into the far wall with a pained grunt.
He crumpled to the floor, groaning in pain, before looking up at Asger with pure terror in his eyes.
"I wouldn’t try that again if I were you. Unless you have a death wish."
Asger said, his voice dangerously calm.
Ethan froze, clearly weighing his options. But with Liam already binding him in place with a spell, there was no way for him to escape anymore.
His body tensed, but he didn’t try to resist further. He knew he had lost.
Liam let out a sigh of relief before turning to Asger.
"You can turn back now. I don’t think we need to terrify him any more than we already have."
Asger huffed but complied, shrinking back into his small form and perching on Liam’s shoulder once again.
"You’re too soft."
Asger grumbled, but there was no real malice in his tone.
Liam ignored him and pulled out his communication crystal. He needed backup. This was far more than he could handle alone.
Within seconds, Elder Erin’s voice responded on the other end, and Liam quickly summarized the situation.
"I’m on my way."
Elder Erin said.
It didn’t take long for Elder Erin and several enforcers to arrive.
As soon as the elder stepped into the room, his sharp gaze swept over the scene.
He took in Ethan, who was bound by Liam’s spell, and Zane, who was still unconscious on the ground. His expression darkened, but when he turned to Liam, his gaze softened slightly.
"You did well handling this. We’ll take it from here. You don’t need to worry about a thing"
Elder Erin said.
Liam nodded, but he still felt the weight of everything that had happened pressing down on him.
The enforcers quickly moved in, securing Ethan and Zane while Elder Erin made sure everything was properly contained.
Some of the enforcers tried to question Liam about the events, asking for details about what had happened, but Elder Erin shut them down with a firm glare.
"He’s done enough. Let him go home."
Elder Erin said.
Liam hesitated for a moment, but he knew better than to argue. With one final glance at the mess behind him, he turned and left.
As he walked out of the building, Asger stretched lazily on his shoulder.
"Well, that was fun."
Liam shot him a dry look.
"That’s one way to describe it."
They made their way back home, but Liam’s mind was still racing.
Everything that had happened... the transformation, the magic, Ethan’s obsession with power... it all left a bitter taste in his mouth.
What exactly had Ethan been trying to accomplish? And why had Zane been willing to go along with it?
Liam didn’t know, but one thing was certain—this wasn’t over yet.
With Liam gone, Elder Erin exhaled sharply, rolling his shoulders back as he turned to face the mess left behind.
His gaze swept across the room, taking in the restrained Ethan, the unconscious Zane, and the chaotic state of the enforcers who had come with him.
Instead of maintaining their composure, the mages who had accompanied him were moving around frantically, like headless chickens.
Some were checking for magical traces, others muttering among themselves in hushed, panicked tones. None of them knew what to do.
’How did I get stuck with these idiots? No! How did these idiots get these high-class jobs in the first place? Is the market so down bad for talent these days?’
