King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 564 - 564 560
Chapter 564: 560 Chapter 564: 560 “Princess, you have an invitation. It’s from Her Royal Highness Gladys, the seventh princess of Uranos Empire.”
“What could the princess of the Uranos Empire want with me? I don’t recall having any dealings with her.” A girl with azure hair down to her waist frowned her slender blue eyebrows at the maid’s report. Her bright blue eyes shone like sunlight-dazzled blue diamonds–radiantly striking.
“She invites you to a hunt,” replied the maid who shared the same hair color as the Dragon Princess, “From my perspective, Princess Gladys seems to want to establish a relationship with you. Given the timeline, her father, Emperor Sandra, is about to abdicate. She was born quite late; if she wishes to inherit her father’s throne, she will still need assistance.”
“Oh is that so!” Upon hearing her dragon maid’s guess, Princess Felicia instantly turned lackadaisical. She lounged lazily on the couch, her state resembling an idle fish, unwilling to exert any effort.
“Aunt Ling, help me find an excuse to decline. I don’t want to go. It’s no fun to play with strangers. I’d rather tame the six dragons I’ve just caught than attend any banquet. That is a lot more fun.”
“Princess, I’m afraid that won’t work. Your mother, Queen Audrey, has already agreed on your behalf. You must attend the banquet hosted by Princess Gladys a month from now. My task is merely to pass on the message.”
“My mom agreed on my behalf?” Shocked at the news, Felicia’s eyes, which shone like blue diamonds, widened, and a disgruntled expression appeared on her face, “How could she do this? Who is she to decide for me?”
“The fact that I am your mother and you are the child I carried for ten years is why,” an elegant, regal, beautiful woman appeared next to the somewhat willful little princess and coldly stated. Her deep, sea-blue eyes seemingly contained no trace of emotion.
“Mother,” Seeing her mother make such an unexpected appearance, Princess Felicia, who was just lounging like a fish on her couch and even planning on rolling around lazily, immediately sprang up. The person she feared the most in this world was her mother, but also, the one she loved the most was her as well.
“I don’t want to attend the hunt hosted by Princess Gladys. Can’t you find a way for me to decline?” The little princess wearing only a close-fitting underskirt ran over and hugged her mother. She buried her head in her mother’s deep bosom, inhaling the natural scent of white plums emanating from her mother, her face brimming with bliss.
“Decline? Do you have something important to do?” Queen Audrey looked at her daughter and coldly asked. It wasn’t that she didn’t care for her, but rather, her nature was indifferent.
“Mm-hm, I do have important things. I’ve captured six Five-Colored Dragons proficient in magic, and I want to tame them.” Felicia raised her head, looked at her mother, and expressed her intention very seriously.
“Just a few Five-Colored Dragons, use the mind control spell to forcibly control them considering your abilities.”
“That method of dragon taming lacks soul.” Dragon Princess firmly countered, “I want those dragons to submit to me wholeheartedly. Using spells is too unamusing.”
“What a waste of time.” That was Queen Audrey’s opinion, “Regardless, you are to depart to the Uranos Empire in a month and participate in this hunt without fail.”
“What am I supposed to do there, put on a false smile, chit chat with a bunch of so-called nobles? You compliment me, I compliment you. It’s utterly boring.” Felicia hugged her mother tightly, muttering her dissatisfaction.
“And taming dragons isn’t boring?” Queen Audrey still couldn’t figure out why her own daughter, who should have inherited her traits, became interested in taming Giant Dragons instead of learning from her; to quietly meditate and handle unavoidable issues, rather than creating a ruckus everywhere.
“Not boring at all.” Felicia answered with sparkling eyes, “Mother, since you agreed on my behalf, why don’t you attend it instead of me? You just have to slightly change your appearance, and you can impersonate me perfectly.”
“This is your invitation, you should attend.” Queen Audrey knocked Felicia’s head, “Why do you have so many ridiculous thoughts? How does me, impersonating you to attend a hunt, sound? This kind of event is what young maidens like you should partake in.”
“You shouldn’t be holed up in your palace every day. You should socialize and get to know some outstanding peers; you can’t hang out with a bunch of dragons everyday.”
“Who said I hole up in my palace everyday? I go out often.” The Dragon Princess grumbled, “A lot of places on the main continent and the subcontinents have tales about me. Many minstrels have written stories and poems about me.”
“Those are tales from you hunting dragons, aren’t they!” Queen Audrey coldly remarked.
“Hehe,” Felicia chuckled awkwardly.
“Just before I came, I divined your future,” Queen Audrey decided to solve the problem at its core, “If you participate in this hunt, you will encounter a one-of-a-kind dragon in the world of Erathia. If you miss this opportunity, you may not have another chance.”
“A unique dragon?” Felicia’s eyes sparkled brilliantly. Collecting all sorts of powerful dragons was her lifelong faith and passion. However, soon, the blue-haired girl’s face showed a hesitant expression: “Are you deceiving me?”
“Thump!” A knock landed on the little princess’s head, Audrey looked at her daughter, who was half a head shorter than her, without a trace of emotion, “Do you think I would deceive you?”
“Alright, I apologize.” Seeing her mother’s profound blue diamond-like eyes and feeling a sense of oppression, the Dragon Princess immediately gave in, “I’ll attend this hunt and assure my punctuality.”
“Mm, good.” Queen Audrey nodded in satisfaction, “This is worthy of being my daughter.”
“Ling, keep an eye on her. If she tries any tricks, immediately report to me.” Queen Audrey instructed the blue-haired dragon maid standing by her side.
“As you wish.” The female servant named Ling responded with a smile.
“Mm.” The queen disappeared silently after arranging everything. She had whimsically performed a divination for her daughter and, seeing certain inevitable events, came over to request that Felicia participate in the hunt.
…
“Prince Muria, Princess Gladys just sent a message that the Dragon Princess has accepted her invitation and will participate in a hunt she is hosting in a month.” Andrew reported nervously to Muria, who was dismantling a black knight.
“Quite prompt, not bad!” Muria who was covered in sticky black blood, nodded approvingly upon hearing the news, and reassembled the black armor on her hand.
“It possesses a superior life vitality than an average Gold Rank.” Muria placed the piece of black armor she had just torn off back on the bare crimson muscles exposed to the air. The two immediately healed and the armor was fixed on the black knight’s body again.
“Your Highness, are you researching the Black Knight?”
“That’s obvious.”
“Do you want to reverse engineer how the Black Knight was made?”
“No such thought.” Muria glanced at the chubby Andrew, “I’m not a master in that field, how could I possibly decipher its manufacturing process from one creature. I do have that self-awareness. I’m just satisfying my own curiosity.”
“I see, please forgive me, Your Highness. I misunderstood.”
“You were right about one thing, I do want to learn how to make a Black Knight. Its intricacy surpasses my knowledge of metal golem fabrication. In comparison, my golems should be thrown into the melting furnace. Do you have any good suggestions?”
“Your Highness, you give me too much credit. The Black Knight’s creation process is one of the royal family’s secret techniques, how could I possibly know it?”
“Would Gladys give it to me if I asked her?” Muria pondered and then asked abruptly.
“I don’t know that,” Andrew wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, “but you can try. Among the creatures the royal family controls, the Apocalypse Four Knights series is the strongest.
The Black Knight is just one of the Apocalypse Knights. There’s also the Blue Knight representing death, the Red Knight representing war, and the White Knight representing blasphemy. If the four knights join forces, their combat power increases dramatically. Four Gold Rank Apocalypse Knights can jointly counter a creature at the Soul Intent Level.”
“Huh, sounds nice. By the way, what does the Black Knight represent?” Muria asked with interest.
“It represents annihilation. Wherever the Black Knight goes, all life will be extinguished. No more crops will grow. So, the Black Knight is also known as Famine Knight.”
“Is it that supernatural? How come I didn’t see any of that power in this Black Knight?” Muria raised her eyebrows.
“That power can only be used on battles outside. In the Erathia World, the power of the Apocalypse Knights is sealed. So it doesn’t seem very special.”
“Very interesting.” Muria laughed, “Such a powerful creature, will they share the method of producing it with me?”
“Prince Muria,” at this moment, Andrew’s son Carmen walked in, “Her Royal Highness Gladys has sent a carriage. She requested to escort you to her manor for the hunt in a month. What do you think?”
“Hmm, let’s go then!” Muria looked around at the dirty blood he’d scattered everywhere, and glanced at Andrew with a slightly embarrassed smile, “Could I trouble you to arrange for someone to clean up here? I’ll head over to Gladys’ place now.”
…
“Gladys is really lucky.” In the grand imperial palace, an emperor whispered to himself, “The little Titan came just in time. Is this luck! My daughter, would you become the second Empress Elizabeth? I’m really looking forward to it!”
